Night Party:
The atmosphere was lively, and the room was decorated with different colors of light. Slow music was playing from the speaker in the center of the room, and couples danced to the melodious beat.
Laughter, giggling, and whispers took over the room as people kept commenting on the models’ dresses.
A red carpet was on the floor of the entrance and prominent figures stepped on it as numerous photographers tried to capture their looks. In another corner of the room there was a long table filled with all sorts of delicacies, and beside the table was a fancy bar, arranged with all sorts of expensive liquors.
The DJ was doing his best to entertain his audience, and the music he was playing made the room more enchanting.
Women and men paired up to dance, and while some were dancing, others were discussing business and fashion.
While a few groups of ladies were commenting on people’s attire, among this group of people was Meng Gana. She was seated on a bar stool, dressed in a short gown which revealed half of her chest. Her makeup was heavy, and she kept looking at everyone, pointing out their weakness and failure.
“You see that man over there,” she whispered to her five listeners who were also dressed like her, pointing at a middle-aged fat man. The man was dressed in a modest suit, and he was standing beside the door, gently slipping his wine. He looked quiet and his head was bowed.
“Yes, what about him?” Nora, one of her listeners, asked with a sparkling eye.
“He just lost his wife, and the poor thing has no children. I heard he is a director, but things haven’t been going smoothly for him. He is owing millions of pounds due to a scandal. Actually he was framed.” Meng explained and burst into laughter, the other ladies joined in the taunting laughter.
“A foolish man like him should be at home reading his bible, not partying with the free crowd,” Killeen, another lady chipped in, laughing menacingly.
“Yes, you are right. I heard his wife was a transgender and refused to adopt a child.” Nora added and scoffed. She looked at the man pitifully and hissed.
“She didn’t refuse, she was denied access to the child, and that’s injustice.” Yummy, the quiet one among the ladies said with a sad voice. She was dressed in a long gown, and her body was slightly covered.
“Whatever! She’s dead now,” Greg, another lady snorted, and hugged Meng, smiling at her like a saint.
“How about we teach him a lesson?” Nora suggested, a mischievous smirk on her face. She looked at Meng for support, and Meng shrugged her shoulders.
“Leave him alone. He’s still grieving his wife’s death, just let him be,” Yummy chipped in, but no one paid attention to her words.
“I’ll do it,” Debris, the last woman, volunteered. The four women gave her a supportive smile. She stood up and walked towards the man, a glass of wine in her hand. Yummy wanted to stop her, but Greg held her back.
Debris politely greeted the few people she met on her way to the man. As she was about to pour the glass of wine on the man’s body, Annabella hurriedly entered, her sisters following her closely. She accidentally hit Debris’s hand and the wine splashed on her face.
……
Annabella’s Point of View:
“Oh my goodness!” I exclaimed in shock as I held my face. Debris looked surprised at herself, but instead of apologizing she burst into laughter, clapping her hands happily.
“What the hell is wrong with you? Can’t you apologize?” Mira yelled at Debris, and took out her handkerchief to clean my face. Millen, Megan, and the man watched us, not knowing what to say.
“Why should she apologize?” Meng asked, moving closer to me. She had seen what happened from a distance, and kept laughing at me, her four minions following her from behind.
“Apparently, it was Debris’s fault. Why did she raise the glass of wine?” Megan intervened, but Nora hissed loudly.
“Kiddo, Debris wanted to pour the glass of wine on grumpy Henry’s face, she had no intention of humiliating your ugly sister,” Nora chipped in with her serpent voice, hissing like a snake.
“What? Why would you? I did nothing wrong,” Henry said with a sad voice. He looked hurt, and unshed tears were in his eyes.
“Your presence alone is more tortuous than Annabella’s ugly face,” Meng’s voice was filled with jealousy as those words escaped her lips.
“Huh, I see,” Megan scoffed at Meng, “sweetheart, don’t forget that jealousy has the power to kill. Also, my sister will gladly teach you how to be ugly. Hopefully, with that, you will be able to win thousands of trophies like her.” She continued, her tone filled with sarcasm.
Meng was about to reply, but some camera crew moved closer to me, wanting to take my pictures.
“Let’s go, no one must see us hanging out with these lowlifes.” Meng dragged Greg’s hand, and the five ladies quickly left my presence quickly.
I sighed softly, and shook my head. “Must they always behave like a prick?” I asked rhetorically, as Mira helped me to clean my face. Millen hugged Henry because he was crying. She signaled to me that we would meet later, and led the middle-aged man out of the club.
A few people kept staring at me, whispering to themselves, but I decided to pay them no attention.
“Don’t worry sis, very soon, they’ll find something else to talk about,” Megan assured me, and I smiled at her broadly.
“Let’s get some drinks, it looks like the party has just begun, because the club is somehow empty.” Mira suggested, and I nodded in agreement.
The last time I attended this party, it was very crowded, and people were fighting to enter, some uninvited guests even sneaked in.
As we were about to visit the bar, Lee Eul showed up, shining his teeth at me. I sighed in despair, and my two sisters quickly left me alone.
Lee Eul and I kept posing together as numerous photographers took our pictures. We had to act like a real couple, so the media would believe our act. Lee kept teasing me, using it to his advantage.
Although I was frustrated, I couldn’t help but fake a smile. I could see some people looking at us, envying our fake relationship, while some didn’t believe our acts.
“Wow, it’s the powerful couples,” Amanda, a radio presenter, and my nightmare, said as she instructed her accompanist to record us.
“Humm, we aren’t in the mood for an interview,” I quickly turned down the offer, and held Lee’s hand ready to leave, but he held me back.
“Come on baby, let’s give them what they want,” he proposed, smiling at me with an evil grin.
“I’m so tired….. Love,” I forced myself to talk, a fake smile on my face. I stylishly squeezed his hands, hoping he would refuse Amanda’s offer, but Lee decided to humiliate me.
“Baby, you are tightening my poor hands,” he cried out with a pitiful voice, and I quickly released his hands because I didn’t want to gain the crowd’s attention.
Amanda looked at us suspiciously. “Is everything alright?” She asked with raised brows.
“Of course yes. We’ll take the interview,” I quickly replied with a smile on my face, but the smile didn’t reach my eyes. I had the urge to kill Lee, but I controlled myself.
After the boring interview, Lee excused himself before I could scold him, and I sighed in defeat.
“The amount of times you keep sighing today, one might think you are an old woman.” A gentle voice whispered into my ears, and I turned around in shock.
The room was filled with clapping, as people hailed the family that had just entered. I was tongue-tied, and I looked at the first lady of the family in astonishment.
