Stella POV.
“This is stupid,” I whined, it wasn’t working, all it helped me with was helping the ache in my heart while cuddling with Milo.
‘Careful,’ James warns me.
“Can we ditch him? Maybe throw him in the river?” I ask Milo making kitten eyes toward him.
‘No we have to keep him,’ Milo answers me.
‘You’re too soft with her,’ James says looking at Milo.
‘She’s a baby,’ Milo defended me.
‘She needs to learn boundaries and spoiling her won’t work,’ James says.
‘She deserves getting spoiled, she’s a child,’ Milo says again, does he really see me that young?
‘No Milo, she needs to learn limits, that includes not making fun of the classes we’re teaching her,’ James says.
‘James,’ Milo growls, I kept on looking between them as they kept on fighting, they sounded like two new parents fighting over how to deal with their toddler.
‘Fine, you want to cuddle her, you do that, but she shouldn’t be expecting that treatment from me,’ James says in a final tone.
“Are you two done fighting? I’m not a baby,” I groaned out loud.
‘Lil-Star,’ Milo says giving me a warning look.
‘Yes, we’re done, watch the tone,’ James scold me.
“You two know I can hear everything you say,” I say reminding them that I can hear everything.
‘We know you do, now can you hear your wolf?’ Milo asks me.
“She doesn’t like me, or maybe she doesn’t like you two yelling at me, how about we do this later?” I beg Milo, I was very bored, and I didn’t want to keep doing this.
‘We’re not going until you at least feel her, or touch her,’ James says in a firm voice.
“I don’t have to listen to you,” I say to James angry at him.
‘Yes, you do,’ Milo says.
“Whose side are you on?” I yell at Milo.
‘There aren’t sides here Stella, all of us are on the same side, we both want you to try,’ Milo says.
“I want to go home,” I pout.
‘Let’s take her home,’ Milo says.
‘If you keep giving in, she’ll be the one leading you around, alpha,’ James says, the last word was more of an offence, it sounded like a curse at him.
‘Cut her some slack, after everything she went through,’ Milo says and the look on James’ face changed, it got softer.
‘Don’t expect this princess treatment always,’ James warns me.
“And don’t expect me to always be nice,” I say back, just wait until we reach home, and I get hold of alpha Jayden, I’ll be telling him all about them two torturing me.
“Are going home or what?” Finn asks out loud, he couldn’t hear our chat, but he could hear the words I said out loud.
‘Home,’ both James and Milo said at the same time, they offered me a ride on their backs or a ride in the car, and I decided to take the car ride with Cici since I’m mad at them both right now.
“Oh, you’re gonna love Christmas in the pack house,” Calesti says, talking to both of us.
“How come? We get to hit the bad stupid alphas?” I ask her with a big pout on my face.
“I’m sorry Stella, you’re either the luckiest or unluckiest girl ever,” Calesti says with a chuckle.
“How come?” Finn asks her interested.
“She has two alphas running after her, Milo is our alpha, we all know him and we all love him, he’s a nice guy, but James, he’s a wild card, he’s one of the youngest alphas out there, but he also have lost his whole family, and I mean his whole family, including the whole pack, and everyone he ever knew,” Calesti says, I knew he has lost everything, but not like that, I didn’t know how bad it was.
“That’s bad,” I say out loud to Cici, and she nods.
“Oh that’s not even the whole thing, you see we don’t James’ temper or the way he deals with things, he lost his pack and his whole old life, what if you act out and he takes it too far? He wants you to be a little, but how far would he push you. We all know Milo is taking the spoiling route to get you to slip, so really anything could happen,” Calesti says.
“Sister, you’re very unlucky,” Finn agrees with her.
“Or maybe, he could be a nice guy and behind his hard mask, he’s a good man and he just hiding the good parts for later and for your privacy,” Calesti says.
“Or maybe he’s a jerk and I have a bad luck with wolves, maybe my next wolf would be a good one,” I say rolling my eyes at her, Theo was still in my mind, where did he go? Maybe I should ask her about Theo.
“You want another wolf?” Finn asks me, turning to me with wide eyes.
“Noooooo…” I say right away, I don’t want another wolf, but three, how unlucky I am.
“Good,” Finn says with a sigh of relief.
“Calesti, did you hear anything of Theo?” I ask her hoping she has heard something, anything about him.
“No, he left, it might take him a couple of days before he comes back,” she answers me, making me pout.
“I thought you’d be happy that he left,” Finn says.
“He’s hurt, I don’t want him to be hurt, and leaving like that, I wish I could have him back, maybe be on my side, we could both bully James and hide behind Milo,” I say with a shrug, we could do things, sometimes, when he’s not angry, he’s nice, I love having him around when he’s not too angry or furious.
“You’re still his soul, his anger affects you, I told him to stop being so angry, that it would affect the both of you, but he never heard me,” Calesti says with a sigh as well.
“Maybe when he comes back, he’ll be nicer, less angry, ready to talk,” I say hoping for the impossible, but knowing that it most probably won’t happen, things don’t always work like we want it to.
“You never know, maybe the goddess has some mercy on all of us,” Finn says.
“The goddess?” I ask him with a raised brow.
“What? I’m spending time with my wolf, I’m learning their chat and words,” Finn answers me.
“Oh, on the good side we’re going to the pack house, and Luna Amelia is setting the tree up, and she always allows us to help,” Calesti says happily.
“I love Christmas, mom is such a control freak, she does the tree, she allows us to help her, just following her strict rules,” Finn says excited about doing a tree that’s a bit bigger than the one we have every year in our room, it’s hardly a sixty centimetres tree with dollar shop decoration, but we get to do it our ways.
When we made it to the house we walked in to see Milo, James, and alpha Jayden fighting, and they weren’t trying to be nice or calm about it, the fight was real and loud, and the topic was sadly me.
“What am I then?” James says sounding hurt and in pain.
“You’re my mate, and her wolf but don’t fight with me in front of her,” Milo yells back at him.
“Boys, keep it down, you two need to work this through, but not here and not now,” Alpha Jayden scolded them.
“I’m either welcome here or I’m not,” James says and I freeze waiting for his answer, is James going to leave us too? Am I going to be abandoned by all three of my wolves, what’s next? Milo would drop me too.
The answer I couldn’t hear, their voice were too low for me to hear it, but a minute later and all three alphas left the office of alpha Jayden, it’s a forbidden place except for Luna Amelia, everyone else had to knock and wait for him to allow us in or deny access, depends on his mood.
“Hey, welcome back, are you here to help with the tree?” Alpha Jayden asks us, I stayed frozen in my place, the last words they shared, they’re going to abandon me, James is leaving, and Theo is never coming back, and next would be Milo and maybe Calesti, why not she too should hate me for the fact that I got her best friend to leave the whole pack.
“Are you okay sweetie?” Milo asked me, he came toward me, he gave me a side hug, but that wasn’t enough for my broken heart.
“I’m fine,” I lied, I was anything but fine, my heart was beating like crazy and I was terrified of what was going to happen next.
“Don’t lie to me, I can read you Lil-Star and I don’t like you hiding things,” he says in a firm voice.
“I’m not lying,” I lied again.
“You know if she keeps lying, you could try your old trick and smack the bum,” James says with a shrug, I turned to him with a big pout.
“Guys, stop talking about spanking my sister, she’s too little for that, put her in timeout,” Finn says and I turn to him angrily.
“Stop it Finn,” I yell at him.
“What did I do?” Finn says, he’s having fun teasing me, but I wasn’t in the game anymore, I was actually mad at him.
“You know what you did, so stop it, it’s not funny, I’m your older sister, not a baby,” I yell at him, it’s not funny having them keep on calling me a baby, fighting over me, ignoring me, abandoning me.
“Fine, I’ll stop, you don’t have to be a baby about it,” Finn says and I had enough of him, I attacked my brother, we never get physical, well not back at home where dad would have both of our heads for fighting, but dad isn’t here right now and he can’t stop us.
Finn didn’t expect me to actually fight him physically, and he didn’t see the first hit coming to his side, but the second one, he knew it was coming his way and so he defended himself, he pushed me off him and got on top of me, pulling my hair, making me scream, the fight only got worse from there, siblings or not, I was out for his neck.
“Okay, that’s enough little one,” James says pulling me off Finn as Calesti went to catch her own soul.
“No, let me go!” I yell at them, I’m going to kill him.
“Stella, stop it,” Milo scolded me, he had both of my hands in one of his keeping me in place.
