Stella POV.
“Wake up,” I heard Milo whisper on top of my head, I whined, why does he need me to wake up? It’s early still and I didn’t want to wake up yet.
“Nu,” I whined, I wanted to sleep some more.
“It’s okay Lil-star, get some more rest,” Milo says kissing the top of my head and then turning back to Theo, he’s the one he’s trying to wake him up.
“Wake up, we need to leave,” Milo scolds Theo who was dead asleep.
“Theo! Her father would kill us if he finds us in her room, move your ass,” he says shaking Theo awake until he got up from his sleep.
“I’m awake,” Theo growls leaving my bed, he gives me one last kiss on the top of my head before leaving with Milo via the window, I get some extra sleep until mom comes into my room and shakes me awake.
“It’s time to wake up sweetie,” Mom says, I open my eyes slowly and finally I sat up in the bed, I had a giant pout on my face, and it’s not cause I’m grounded, it’s cause the two guys who were next to me the whole night have left, I loved having them near me, holding me, I didn’t know that I’m missing them, until they were there near me.
“I’m awake,” I say, she doesn’t always come in and wake me up, only when needed, and today I must have skipped my alarm.
“Your father told me about what happened last night, you know we don’t encourage fighting and yelling,” she says and I nod, I knew the house rules, I live here too.
“Sorry,” I say to my mother, I didn’t know what to say but sorry sounded as a good option.
“I’ll talk to him, you two are too old to be grounded over fighting, you should be acting like two adults, I want you to apologize to your brother,” she says.
“I’ll say sorry, I don’t mind saying it, but I doubt that Finn would listen to me,” I say, remembering how angry he was at me yesterday.
“He’s your brother and he loves you very much, he’ll forgive you no matter what the reason of this fight is,” Mom says.
“Did you talk to him?” I ask her.
“Yes, and he’s pissed, I don’t know what happened Stella, but he’s your brother, your younger brother and I expect you to fix things with your brother,” Mom orders me in a firm voice, I prefer to take the whole grounding punishment and live this through.
“Okay, I’ll talk to him,” I say, hoping that the boy’s plan would work for all of us.
I got ready for school, and then I walked down to the kitchen, I met with Finn who ignored me, I tried to talk to him, but he was pissed at me still, I made breakfast for the both of us and offered him the food but he rejected it.
Calesti came into our house, here to pick us up, she ate the plate of food I made my brother, he talked to her, he smiled to her and was happy to go to school with her, and they allowed me to tag along since I too needed a ride to school.
“So, Finn, there’s this bonfire tonight, you want to come along?” Calesti asks my brother.
“With you, sure, are you going to gather around and tell the legends of your tribes?” Finn asks her and she laughs, I might have forced him into watching the Twilight movie with me a couple of times, maybe a couple hundred, but it’s a good movie.
“Not really, but we have a lot of food that’s going to be around, and it’ll be fun,” Calesti assures him.
“Fine, I’m coming, but you still gotta tell me all the cool stories about being a wolf,” Finn says excitedly.
“Of course I will,” Cici assures him, they’re both ignoring me, I hoped she’ll talk to me eventually, but for now, I decided to stay quiet and stay on Finn’s good side.
“Bye, Finny,” Calesti said kissing my brother goodbye, he kissed her cheek, but looked at me as if I was the worst person alive ever, I walked into the school with Calesti and soon we were joined by Theo.
“Hello, beautiful, Cici,” he says standing next to me.
“Hi,” I answer him with a smile.
“I had the best sleep ever last night,” Theo announces happily.
“Why did Milo do you?” Calesti asked him with a straight face while mine dropped.
“That would have done my night even better, but no, we stayed the night over at Stella’s,” he says happily looking at me like a kid on Christmas morning.
“You allow them to stay the night now? Don’t spoil them Stella or they won’t be able to sleep anywhere but your bed,” Calesti says.
“Hey, said the one who sneaked in last night,” Theo teased her back.
“You sneak in Cici? Why?” I asked her, what does she has business inside of my house?
“Ignore him,” Calesti assures me.
“You two are hiding stuff from me,” I say knowing too well that some information is being held away from me.
“We’re not,” Cici say at the same time as Theo who says “We are,”
“So who do I believe?” I ask them.
“Me, always, I’m your wolf, I’ll never lie to you,” Theo says with a big smile on his face.
“I’m your best friend, I’m the one who you should believe,” Calesti says and I roll my eyes at them, they’re back to fighting.
“As soon as he stopped being an ass,” Calesti says happily.
“I wasn’t that bad,” Theo says, me and Cici shared a look and then started laughing, he wasn’t that bad? He was terrible, the worst out there.
“I was pretty sure that you are a psychopath,” I say with a giggle.
“Psycho? Oh honey, I talked to my aunt asking her who do we have in the family that’s as insane as you, I didn’t want to catch whatever you had,” Calesti says laughing.
“Stop it you two,” he groans.
“You just needed to get laid right?” Calesti tease him and I turn red, I don’t like talking like that in front of him or anyone else.
“Stop it both of you, or I’m gonna tell Milo,” I whined and they both laughed at me.
“Oh no little one, don’t be upset and don’t tell daddy Milo on us, I don’t need to run any extra patrols,” Calesti says pinching my cheek.
“Stop it Cici, she’s not a baby,” Theo says sounding angry, he doesn’t like me being a little? But I love being a little, I like how Milo treats me and how he makes me feel tiny when he’s around.
“Hey, no little shaming,” Calesti said but he ignored her and I tried to play it cool not wanting to start any kind of fight with him, he’s just turned to be a good guy, and I don’t want to push him into the jerk side again.
“It’s okay Cici, so tonight’s bonfire is the same one you two been telling me about last night?” I ask Theo changing the topic.
“Yeah, it’s a small gathering, and we’re going to tell you and Finn more about being a wolf and spending time with us,” Calesti says.
“I met the Luna yesterday,” I tell Cici, she wasn’t there yesterday.
“Did she give alpha Jayden hell too?” she asks me with a smile.
“Just a tiny bit,” I answer her.
We went toward our classes for the day, we were good for once and spent the whole day in class, we had an exam we had to catch up on, this time I didn’t cheat by asking Milo for help, I did the exam on my own, well I tried to do the best I could do.
After school, Cici dropped Finn back home while Theo dropped me off, we had a small talk with Mom trying to convince her to allow us to go to the bonfire, it’s not her that we need to convince, but it’s Dad, he’s still mad at us and we’re pretending to be all good and that we could just go to the bonfire like two good siblings who never fight.
Milo picked me up and Calesti picked up my brother, Milo had his bike again and we decided to hide that fact from my father as well, we went toward the middle of the woods again, it seemed to be the place that the wolves love to spend time around.
“So what are we going to do?” I ask Milo, getting off his bike.
“We’re going to wait for Theo, and then the party will start,” he answers me, there were other wolves around too, some in their human form and others in their wolf skin, everyone was happy, I could see a couple bottles of beer too.
We all sat around the fire, and I waited for the stories to begin, the origins, but no one said anything, instead, there was a tone of teasing and pocking at each other, the wolves loved teasing and calling out one another.
“So new Luna, tell us! How does it feel having two wolves instead of one? Is your wolf jumping inside of you?” one of the royals asks me.
“What wolf?” I say confused.
“Your inner wolf of course,” she answers me like it’s obvious.
“It feels good,” I say not understanding what they mean.
“So are you going to explain things now?” Finn asks Calesti, sitting opposite to me, he looks confused.
“Finally! I was told there’s going to be stories!” a voice yells.
“Are you sure this is how you want to do it?” Milo asks Calesti.
“He needs to know,” Calesti says with a sigh.
“Every wolf on this planet is born without a soul, we’re heartless,” Milo starts and all the wolves howl to the moon, they were happy about the fact that they are born without a soul?
“But you’re nice,” I heard Finn say to Calesti.
“Now you monsters settle down, you all know we are looking for our lost souls,” Theo says howling with them happily.
“The wolves’ souls are humans, they hold what we are missing, they are our treasures,” Calesti finally adds she wasn’t as happy as the rest of them, maybe a little bit drunk.
“Wolves don’t get drunk, we just like to act like we do, drunk on power,” Milo whispered to me.
“Why are we telling Finn all of that?” I ask him.
“You’ll see,” Milo answers me.
“And then?” Finn asks.
“And then we live the happiest life ever! The dream!” the same one who was howling happily about being alone and soulless.
“Finn, you’re my soul,” Calesti says to my brother, making both of our mouths fall open, I didn’t see that one coming.
