Book:A wolf heart Published:2024-9-3

Milo POV.
Theo wasn’t giving in, he’s still very pissed, and very angry at everyone, he was not letting anyone talk to him, and that includes me, my father, our beta, and even Calesti tried talking to him, he’s going insane, he’s going rogue, we should bring his soul over and let him talk to her, but we couldn’t do that, she doesn’t know what wolves are yet, and she’ll be terrified of being told that she holds the soul of a very angry wolf.
“Theo, help me out here, I don’t want to keep you in here,” I say out loud trying to get him to just stop growling and fighting, I didn’t want to hurt him, he’s hurting, and he’s one of my pack members, he’s a relative of mine, we don’t share the same blood, but being a pack means we are related.
“I can force you into shifting you know,” I say throwing my chair on the floor and trying to scare him, but look at him not giving a fuck, I was listening to him via the alpha bond, and nothing he said was any good.
‘I’m going to burn you in hell,’ he threatens again, that’s all he got to say to me, that he’s going to kill me, that he’s going to make me suffer, and I had enough of it.
“Theo, do you think you’re stronger than me? You think you could kill me?” I ask him out loud.
‘Of course,’ he says and I had enough of this.
“Fine, we’re doing this once,” I say out loud, I push my chair out of the way, and I empty the whole basement, it’s just the two of us and the cage, I call two of our enforcers to come down here to help, the help is going to be wiping the blood off the ground when we’re done.
“Wait for my cue and then open the cage,” I say taking my shirt off, ready to shift, they looked at me worriedly, are they worried he’s going to kill me or that I might kill him?
“Do as I say,” I order them, shifting into my wolf form, I’m a big wolf, I’m the alpha, and so was Theo, he’s a strong wolf, but he’s been fighting and kicking the cage last night, he should be tired and weaker.
He attacked as soon as the door was open, he attacked me, going toward my neck, he wanted to kill me so badly, and although it really hurt to hurt him, I had to do it, my first snap at him was toward his left paw, I had my teeth around his bone and I bite hard, I heard the bones crushing and ignored it, no, I ignored it on the outside, but on the inside, I felt my heart crushing along with the bones.
Theo screamed with pain if he stops now, I’ll let him go, I don’t want to hurt him any more than this, but it’s Theo, and Theo never gives up easily, especially after all the death threats he threw at me.
“Alpha, do we help?” one of the enforcers asked out loud and I shook my head no, we should wait until Theo does the next move.
‘That’s enough Theo, count your losses,’ I say to Theo via the bond, but he ignores his hurt leg and then tries to attack me again, he managed to land a good slash on my plank, it was painful but I pretended that it didn’t happen, that I wasn’t in pain, I hit him back.
If it was anyone else, I might have killed them, but I didn’t, I have hurt him, but not enough to kill him or put him in the hospital, Theo finally gave in, or maybe he was too tired to keep on fighting, so I let him go, I didn’t throw him in the cage again, a night in there is enough to drive us insane, the silver hurts our body and soul, well not our soul, his soul was in Stella’s body, but the silver hurts our mind and mental health.
‘Take him to a room, keep him in,’ I tell the enforcer, and I limp off to my room to change and clean my injury, it’s the pack house and I own my private room in here, while others can crash in any time they want.
I changed into some new clothes and decided to get out of the house, I went toward the dinner, which is where everyone hangs out, the school was out, and most of the pack’s younger members would be there by now, I should have gone to university, I should have done something, but the pull kept me in the town, maybe it’s the woods magic.
I sat with the others, they chatted, they talked, they asked me about Theo and I gave them zero answers, they don’t need to know everything, but rumours would always go around the pack.
I saw her then, and I decided that I needed to help Theo out, I couldn’t have him going insane on us, and his dying would kill her along with him, they can’t survive without each other, even if they haven’t bonded yet, they can’t survive without each other.
“It’s Friday, any big plans for the weekend?” I ask her.
“Not really, I’m going to stay with Calesti,” she answers me.
“Maybe I can take you out,” I say deciding to have a chat with her on behalf of his dumb ass.
“I… I don’t know,” she says, of course, she doesn’t want to go with me, I’m not her mate.
“Just say yes, I promise you’ll be okay, no wolves will attack you this time,” I promise her, but we might have a chat or two about them.
“You promise?” she asks, stupid Theo has terrified her.
“Promise, scout honour, no wolves involved,” I say.
“I’ll see you tomorrow then,” she says making me smile, I was happy that she agreed, even if the date was about talking to her about Theo, I left before she could change her mind and call it off.
I left for my private home and stayed there for most of the night before I went out for a night run, I had to take over the patrol, I wanted to ask about Theo, to check on him, but I couldn’t show any special treatment toward him. I ran until my brain went blank, I dropped asleep in my bed, and the next morning I woke up late, I didn’t mean to sleep in so much, but I was exhausted, if it wasn’t for mom waking me up I wouldn’t have woken up or made it to the date that I had today.
I didn’t have any plan on where to take her, but I needed to talk to her, and just having a chat with her wouldn’t be doing any well for any of us, so I decided to take her to the movies, they put on re-runs most days, I called them asking for a special movie pick.
“Are you sure alpha? You want to see that?” the one who answered me says sounding very confused about my request.
“Just do as I say,” I order them.
The movie wasn’t my first pick, but it’s a topic opener, maybe I could get her to tell me what she thinks of it, if it was real if it was the truth, we sat down in the theatre, having two big popcorn and a drink, the movie started, it was the only one available, what a big coincidence, we still wanted to watch something and this would have to do.
“Are you team wolf or team vampire?” I ask Stella as we’re watching Twilight, Edward has exposed himself and we made fun of him every step of the way, and then when it came to Jacob’s turn to tell the truth of the wolves.
“Team wolf, Edward is a psychopath,” she says and we both agree on it.
“Agreed, what about the wolves?” I ask her.
“I like their community, they are there for each other,” she says making me smile.
“Would you like being a part of a pack, belonging to a wolf, having them loving you as the whole earth spins around you?” I ask her, Stephenie Meyer is a soul, she belongs to a pack of wolves just like Lil Star would be as soon as she and the idiot make up. That’s why she had the wolf part written so well, she knew we’re the best supernaturals out there, she wasn’t allowed to write our real story, so she made up her own, but the imprinting is very similar to finding your soul.
“I don’t think anyone looked at me and fell in love,” she says with a shrug.
“Maybe it’s harder than that, but do you believe in love at first sight?” I ask her, we love our souls, we crave them, of course, Theo loves her from the first sight.
“I don’t know about love, but I believe in having a crush,” she says, so she does feel things toward him.
“But do you believe in love?” I ask her next.
“Of course I do, mom and dad have been married for over twenty years, living a happy life, they love each other, I know love is real,” she answers me, I was happy to know she believes in a long happy life that includes being with our mates and partner.
“My parents have been together for a really long time as well, it happens more often than people think,” I assure her.
“I wish for that,” she says with a big smile making my heart melt, I wanted to say, I wish she was mine, I’d love her forever.
“I’m sure you’ll find it,” I say, we were the only ones in the theatre being so early in here, we ignored the rest of the movie, only paying attention to the wolf part of the movie.
“Wanna skip the ending? She picks the stupid bloodsucker,” I say, I don’t understand how Stephenie’s wolf allowed her to write this ending of the books, why did she fall for the vampire instead of the wolf, I’d never allow my soul to write a story about anything but us, I’m too possessive for that.
“Let’s go,” she says with a chuckle, we both ran out of the theatre, that movie sucks, and no wonder the guy was so shocked when I said I wanted them to stream this movie, I had the plan of taking her to get some kind of food, but it’s too early to eat, so maybe I’m better off taking her on a walk and talking some more to her.
“Wanna go to the park?” I ask her.
“Sure,” she says.
We got there and I tried to talk to her some more, I wanted to tell her about the wolves, about how they are real, and although the movie was a good starter, I needed to use my words to say them to her, maybe I can count this as my trial to when I find my soul and I have to tell her about being a wolf.
“If you could be any kind of supernatural what would you be?” that was a good question, but sadly I wasn’t the one who asked it, Stella had asked me it.
“I’d be a wolf of course, they are a family animal, they are loyal and strong,” I say with a smile thinking that even if I had the chance, I’d forever be a wolf, “And you?” I added it at the end since I was the one who should have asked it.
“I think I’ll be a wolf with you, we can both howl to the moon,” she says and I smile at her, we don’t howl to the moon, but that’s so cute.
“That’s so cute little one, but the wolves don’t howl to the moon,” I inform her.
“Hey! My wolves do,” she says making me chuckle.
“What if they were real?” I ask her.
“Wolves are real of course,” she assures me.
“I mean the wolves who can turn human, what would you think of that?” I ask her.
“I’d say that you are high as the sky,” she answers me with a giggle.
“Would you like in?” I say with an eye roll.
“Sure,” she says, and I frown, she’s not allowed to have any kind of drugs, that’s not going to happen, when she saw my frown, she laughed at me.
