Stella POV.
My date was going great, I was enjoying my time very much with Milo, he made me laugh, and he took me to the movie although it wasn’t the best movie ever, I enjoyed it along with him, we had a nice chat about wolves and vampires, he kept trying to talk to me about being a wolf, and although it’s very funny, I don’t think it could happen in real life.
“I’d say that you are high as the sky,” I say, he made me giggle, but he kept talking about wolves as if they were real, I always loved playing pretend, but he took it to another level, and I enjoyed it.
“Would you like in?” he says with an eye roll, and I laugh, he’s really high, if he thinks the wolves are real and they howl to the moon, he must be on some real kind of drugs.
“Sure,” I answer him which makes him frown, so he could get high and I can’t?
“Stop laughing,” he frowns, but it only made me laugh some more, he’s really taking this seriously.
“Milo, I’d love for wolves to be real,” I say with a smile, I would love them to exist, to be one of them.
“And what if I tell you they are real?” he asked me, and I smiled.
“Of course wolves are real, we saw them more than once,” I remind him.
“I don’t mean just the wild wolves, I mean the ones who turn human as well,” Milo says in a serious voice, I give him a side glare, it’s funny, but not that funny, the joke is going too far.
“Milo, stop it,” I order him and he sighs, letting it go, after that, we went to catch a bite, we went to a restaurant, and he told me to order whatever I wanted, but I felt too shy to actually order anything.
“I can do it for the both of us,” Milo offers.
“Yes, please,” I answer him.
“Of course, Lil-star,” he says calling me the same nickname again, I don’t know how he ended up calling me Lil-star, but he just did.
He ordered us a lot of food, and he didn’t hold back, he got appetizers, main dishes, and a lot more, I told him that we wouldn’t be able to eat all of that, but he kept assuring me that we would be able to finish them and might need some more.
I didn’t believe him, we can’t really eat all of that food right, we had over ten plates set in front of us, and we also had drinks, and then we ate them all, and by we I mean I tried a bite of everything and Milo managed to finish all the plates, he ate like there was no tomorrow, I looked at him with wide eyes, were do all of that food go?
“How?” I ask him.
“I workout regularly,” he says with a chuckle and I just nod, right, that’s why he’s so thin while eating this much.
“Want dessert?” he asked me, and I shook my head no, I’m very stuffed, I have eaten so much.
“I ate too much,” I say having a hard time breathing, if I had been wearing my jeans the button would have popped out by now.
“Are you sure?” he asks me.
“Very sure,” I say.
“Fine, let’s go,” he says with a pout, he paid our bill and we both got in the car, ready to be driven back home, he didn’t lie, we’re gonna be home before the sunset.
“I don’t wanna go home,” I say with a sigh.
“We still have a little bit of time before the sunset, we can have a longer ride,” Milo offers and I nod.
He drove around the town, we didn’t talk much, we just enjoyed sitting there in silence, watching the trees, watching the woods, I might have been looking for the wolves, but I didn’t find any, as the sky started to turn orange, the sun was ready to set, Milo drove me home, he parked in front of my house and got out first, opening the door for me, guiding the way toward my house door.
“Thank you for everything, I really enjoyed it,” I say blushing.
“You’re welcome,” he says with a smile, but it drops off all of a sudden, he looks to the side with a frown on his face now.
“Are you okay Milo?” I ask him, trying to get his attention.
“Get inside the house, lock the door,” he says but I don’t do as he says, even if his voice was filled with so much authority, I wasn’t going to walk in, I couldn’t leave him in danger.
“Now Stella,” he orders again, using my full name this time.
“What’s going on?” I asked him, I didn’t want to just leave.
Out of the blue, a wolf jumped in front of me, the wolf was looking at me with red eyes, ready to kill me, I didn’t understand what was wrong with this wolf, why did it keep jumping in my way, why is it growling at me?
“Theo, that’s enough,” Milo orders, Theo? What’s going on?
“Milo? What’s going on?” I asked him which made the wolf angrier, it attacked me, and it threw me against our house door locking me in the middle.
“I said stop you idiot,” Milo says sounding furious which scared me, I never saw him angry, never like this, but he is furious now.
“Ahh! Milo help!” I cry for help, this wolf is going to kill me, and it hurt, it hurts so badly having him this close to me, not physically, but mentally his anger, his rage was too much for me mentally.
Milo pulled the wolf and threw it to the side, coming toward me, making sure I was fine, the wolf was ready to attack again, but who was it going to attack? Me or Milo?
“I’m sorry, don’t be scared,” Milo promises to me before something magical happens right in front of me, instead of Milo the guy who was standing in front of me, there was a wolf, and he’s here right in the space that Milo was in.
It’s not like the movie, it’s nothing like the movie, he didn’t take his clothes off, and he didn’t do it fast or slow, he just did, I hardly blinked and then instead of Milo was a wolf, a wolf who stood in front of me in a protective way, his back was turned to me, which made the first wolf get so angry, he attacked, the wolves were fighting, it didn’t look like it’s the first time they ever fought, they knew each other moves, and they attacked each other.
I ran inside the house, I locked the door behind me, and then ran to my room, hiding in there with fear, my whole body was shaking, I was terrified, Finn must have seen me come in, he ran into my room, he locked the door behind him to keep our parents out.
“Did he hurt you? Do I need to kill him?” Finn asks me.
“He… it…” I say not sure how to explain what I have seen, what happened out there, Milo was there, and then there was a wolf, and he was trying to tell me so the whole time, I had tears going down my face, I couldn’t help the sobbing.
“Hey, hey, don’t cry, just tell me do I need to kill him or just hurt him really, really badly,” Finn asks me, hugging me tight.
“We need to leave,” I say, was the other wolf Theo? Is that why he kept on attacking me?
“Well, I’d be happy to leave, but dad won’t allow us anywhere out of the house at this hour,” he says with a groan, dad is a strict parent and Finn knew going out now would get us in trouble.
“It’s dangerous in here,” I say, trying to stop crying, do I tell him about the way Milo changed? Or do I just tell him about the wolves, would that put my little brother in danger?
“True sister, the world is a scary place, how about we stay in and I make you a hot chocolate and then we’ll talk?” Finn suggests he’s my younger brother, but he’s a good guy, he’s very mature, but I’m the older sister, I’m the one who’s supposed to be taking care of him.
“You don’t have to,” I say trying to wipe my eyes and nose, he looked through the room and got me a tissue box, I blew my nose a couple of times, and then tried to calm down.
“Go and wash your face, I’ll make the hot chocolate and tell mom you’re fine,” he says and I nod, I go toward the bathroom and wash my face a couple of times with cold water, maybe I was seeing things, maybe I imagined them?
I came back to my room and sat on the bed, I tried to breathe in and out, my heart was still beating like crazy, it felt like it was going to beat out of my chest, and it hurt, I placed my hand over my chest and felt the very fast beating.
“Hey, I’m back,” Finn says coming in and closing the door behind him, he handed me one of the hot chocolates he was holding, I took it from his hand but mine was shaking so badly, some of the drink was falling down on the floor.
“I’ll take this,” he says taking it back from my hand, I just nodded with a small smile, it was a very forced smile.
“What’s going on sister? Tell me, don’t be scared,” he says trying to get me to talk and tell him what’s going on.
“A wolf attacked me,” I say, deciding not to tell him everything, what if that put him in danger?
“Is that why you want to leave?” he asks me and I nod, it’s not just the wolf, it’s the fact that the wolf might not just be a wolf, it has a human inside of it and it scared me.
“I’m sorry sis, maybe we can talk to someone about the wolf problem,” he says and I just nod.
“Are you going to tell me how the date went?” he asks me.
‘It was perfect until my date turned into a wolf and attacked another wolf that he called the same name as the guy I had a crush on, but I thought that the other guy was a psycho, and I guess he is one since it’s not the first time he attacks me. Oh, did I also mention that my date was trying to tell me about wolves and werewolves through our whole date and I was an idiot who thought it was cute?’ but I couldn’t tell him any of that.
“It was fine,” I say with a tight smile, still shaking.
“Fine? Did he touch you?” Finn asks me.
“Finny, I’m fine, he didn’t do anything to me,” I assure him, that would have been much less scarier than what actually helped.
“Okay, where did he take you?” he says and I chuckled, oh if he knew.
“A movie and early dinner,” I answer him.
“What movie did you watch?” he asks me.
“Twilight,” I say, now I guess he had chosen that movie for a reason.
“Really? They had a vintage movie?” Finn says with a laugh.
“They do re-runs,” I answer him, or maybe they did it because he asked them to?
“Was it any good?” he asks me.
“We watched a million times, you know how it goes,” I answer him.
“Yeah, but watching it with a guy is different, was he team wolf or vampire?” he asks me with a laugh.
“Wolf,” I say, trying to think of ways to convince dad to leave this place.
“At least he’s not on the zombie side,” he says with a laugh.
“Finn,” I say after a couple of hours of just sitting here talking, trying to get over the whole fear that I’m going through.
“Yes?” he answers me.
“Do you mind sleeping here?” I beg him, I didn’t want to stay alone in my room, and I’m not goign to ask my parents to let me sleep in their room, I’m not that desperate.
“Sure, but if you snore I’m pushing you off the bed,” Finn says with a smile, and I felt relieved.
