Stella POV.
“Calesti, I don’t have anything to wear,” I whisper to her as we sit down alone, the others are looking at us, they are looking at me as if I’m some weirdo, maybe it’s because Milo asked me out on a date, I didn’t expect that, but it happened.
“We can check the shops if you want, or you can borrow some of mine,” she suggests, I have some money, they are what I have saved from back at home, and it’s my first date here, I should be going all out.
“Can we check the shop?” I ask her, and she has a wide smile on her face, she looks like she’s gonna be enjoying shopping,
“Let’s go, let’s go,” she says, grabbing my hand and going toward the door, I looked at my brother who shrugged, he have found some of his school friends to spend time with and he’s not the biggest fan of shopping.
We went toward the first shop and walked in, Calesti stopped in the middle of the shop and then turned to me, she whispered in a low voice just in my ear, ‘How much are you willing to spend? do I look through the clearance?’ she asked me, I was glad that she asked, I didn’t mind spending money but nothing too crazy, we’re not in any designer shop, it’s just a small boutique with different kinds of clothes, it’s very small and cosy, it looks and feels like a small town shop.
We looked through the racks and Calesti picked a couple of options for me, handing them over to me, I picked a couple of options for myself too, and two for Cici, we exchanged our choices and went toward the changing room.
We started to try on the new clothes, and most of them looked good on me, but they didn’t feel date-appropriate, I wanted to look better, I don’t know why but I wanted to leave a good impression on him. The final pick was a dress, long enough to reach the top of my knees, it’s a soft wool knitted dress, it’s warm enough for the weather but not too warm, I could pull my hair up and show off the dress neckline, it dipped a little bit more in the back area.
“What do you think?” I ask Calesti, walking out of the dressing room.
“Wow,” Calesti says with a big smile.
“Do I get it?” I ask her, checking the price tag, it’s not the cheapest dress ever, but it’s not that expensive, it’s something I could pay for, and it’s fine for me to spoil myself for once.
“Hell yes!” Calesti says with big wide eyes.
“Fine, I’m gonna get back to my own clothes,” I say going back in to change again, we’re getting that dress, but first I need to change.
I changed my clothes, paid for the dress, and then we walked out of the boutique, I asked Cici what she wanted to do next, it’s Friday, and although I’m happy about my new purchase and being asked out for a date, in the back of my mind I was thinking of Theo, where was he? Is he okay? Was he safe? Maybe the wolves ate him.
“I asked you want to catch a bite?” Calesti asks me again, getting my attention this time.
“Yeah sure,” I agreed with her.
“What are you thinking of?” she asks me.
“Theo, is he okay? He wasn’t in school today,” I finally broke and told her the truth, I’m thinking of him.
“Oh, Theo is fine, he’s a bit sick, he’s staying home,” she answers me.
“Would he react badly after knowing Milo asked me for a date?” I ask her, I’m thinking of him, I can’t stop thinking of him.
“I’m sure he’ll understand,” she says with a tight smile, but she didn’t look too happy about it this time.
“What do you wanna eat? You wanna check where your new bestie is?” I ask her.
“My new bestie?” she asks me looking confused, I just gave her a knowing look, waiting for her to guess who I meant and her face turned into a knowing look with a big smile.
“Yes, I’ll message my bestie,” she says messaging Finn checking where he is and if he is up to eat with us.
“He’ll meet us there,” she says, we have ditched her car and been walking around the town, enjoying the walk.
“Where’s there?” I ask her, are we going back to the same dinner?
“The pizza place,” she says with a big smile.
“We had pizza the other day,” I remind her, knowing that it’s Finn’s favourite food.
“Yeah, are you up for pizza? They have other stuff,” she says trying to make it up for me as well, but I knew that Finn would be very happy with having some more pizza.
“I’m okay with pizza, just messing with you, let’s go,” I say with a smile, we had a nice dinner together, except for the fact that my brain kept going to Theo and Milo, and the random wolves.
“Cici, how sick is he? What’s wrong with him?” I ask her, just to be sure.
“A stomach bug, he’s just sitting near the bathroom just in case, he can’t see others for now, he’s contagious,” she answers me, it doesn’t sound like the worst sickness ever, I just hoped he’d feel better as soon as possible.
Calesti drove us home after we finished our dinner, we walked into the house and were met by mom and dad, are we in trouble? We told them we were going out, and there wasn’t much to do around this town, I don’t believe there’s any drugs running around this town, I didn’t see anything yet.
“Did you two have fun?” Mom asks us, troubles?
“Yeah, we did, I was with my sister,” Finn defended himself quickly throwing things at me.
“I know baby, you’re not in trouble,” mom says and he looks at me with a sigh, so it’s me who’s in trouble and not him?
“I didn’t do anything either, I didn’t take him out to a bar, or anywhere else,” I defend myself now.
“We know, Stella, it’s not what we want to talk to you about,” dad says.
“What is it then?” I ask him, a million scenarios going through my head.
“You’re sixteen, you’re doing well with the move over here, and you’re making friends,” dad says and I nod, I did all of that, so what?
“Yes?” I say waiting for the but to come.
“I’m enrolling you in driving school, you should be able to start driving soon,” dad says and I jump up and down happily, I wanted to drive so badly.
“Thank you dad,” I say running to hug him, and hugging mom too, she too deserved a hug.
“You’re welcome sweetie,” dad says hugging me just a little bit tighter, I looked at him and saw him on the verge of tears.
“What’s wrong?” I ask him.
“You’re growing up so quickly,” he says and I feel bad for him, I’m his little girl and I’m growing up, I’m gonna be driving and I’m going out on a date tomorrow.
“I know dad, soon I’ll be out of the house and you’ll be stuck with just Finn,” I say with a sigh making him hug me tighter.
“He’s a good boy, but he’s not my little girl,” dad says.
“Wow, thank you dad, I knew I was a boy, but thank you for the affirmation,” Finn says and we both laughed, we had the attitude.
“You welcome,” dad says back.
“Uhm, dad, I need to tell you something,” I say trying to pull back from the hug, to tell him about the date tomorrow.
“What?” dad says looking at me.
“Tomorrow, I’m going on a date,” I say turning fully red.
“With whom? No, you’re not going, you’re too young to date,” dad scolds right away.
“Honey, that’s not nice, she should be able to date,” mom says calling dad off.
“No, she’s my baby, she can’t just go on dates,” dad says refusing to agree with mom.
“You can go baby, ignore your father,” mom says which breaks an argument between them two, fighting over if I’m old enough to date, or the fact that dad is going to kill whoever this guy was.
I took that as my leave and went toward my room, I hung my dress for tomorrow and then took a shower, I washed my hair, put on conditioner, and then I blew dry it to make it easier to style in the morning. I did my nails next, putting a face mask on my face during that time, I was pampering myself getting myself ready for my date tomorrow.
After I was done doing everything to myself, I got ready for bed, I put on some moisturizer all over my face and hands just to make sure that I’ll look good tomorrow.
My dreams were filled with wolves, all I could dream of was wolves, the ones I saw in the woods, other wolves, blond, black, brown, and even red wolves, I don’t think I have ever seen this many wolves in real life, but in my dreams I saw them all.
I woke up feeling dizzy, my dreams were visited by a wolf pack, I got ready for the day, I did my hair, I put on some makeup and then I had my breakfast, I was waiting for a message or something from Milo to tell me he’s coming over or that we’re gonna have our date soon, he didn’t give me a time or any details to where we’re going to meet.
My phone pinged with a message, I checked the strange number, it said ‘Get ready, on my way. Alpha,’ I was pretty sure it was Milo, he calls himself alpha, I smiled at that and ran to my room to wear my dress, and finished getting ready for our date, I expected him to message me or something, but he didn’t, instead he knocked on the door, and dad opened the door for him before I could run down.
“Hello, sir,” Milo says with a smile talking to my father.
“Who are you?” dad asks him, he knows I’m going on a date.
“I’m Milo sir,” Milo answered him, and my father raised a brow at him waiting for him to explain a bit more.
“Dad, he’s my date,” I say coming in.
“What are your intentions toward my daughter?” dad asks him right away.
“To take her out to the town, watch a movie, maybe get a bite and bring her home before the sunset,” Milo answers him.
“And will you be doing anything?” he asks me, meaning anything physical? Sexual?
“Of course not sir,” Milo says, I expected dad to kick him out before allowing him to take me out.
“Can we go now?” I ask, wanting to take him and run before Dad forbids us from going out.
“Fine, but if you dare touch a hair on her head,” Dad warns him.
“I won’t even dream of it sir,” Milo says offering me a hand and walking out of the door together, he didn’t have his bike today, he had a car, he opened the door for me and then closed, running toward the driver seat and taking off.
“Are we really going to the movies?” I asked him, I wanted to watch a movie since seeing that there’s a cinema in the town, how did he know?
“Yeah, I’m not sure what they are playing, but maybe you’ll like something,” he says with a shy smile.
“I’ll be okay with anything, as long as it’s not horror,” I answer him.
“Deal, we’ll watch the scariest movie out there,” he says with a smirk.
“Miloooo,” I groaned and he laughed out loud, I think I found my equal of being sarcastic.
