Laura exhausted and tired made way home, it had been an hour or so since she left and still she couldn’t get rid of the thought of that man that weighted heavy in soul l, she could enjoy the serenity that came with the thought moment but aside that everything Else seemed quite ordinary.
She darted her eyes to look around as she made her way through the driveway, it had taken her only to get home before she got a call to come over to the Mailing company and see things for herself – so looking at the address that had been sent to her earlier that day she had made way away .
So far as it seemed, everything was going according to plan, and all she had to do was walk in and pick up everything that was going to needed, at that moment while she drove out , it occurred to her that it was best she called Riley -she ran through the plan one more time in her mind just so she could be sure
She had a hand free stuck Into her ear as she drove, which she could communicate with her with, as she made the circle that led up to the main road, she rang Riley..
It took a while but the latter soon picked up, she was confused as first wondering why the call was made but soon she started speaking –
“I am heading out, I should have called you earlier but something came up. .”
“Do you need me?”She asked as Laura brushed the hair away from her face as a soft breeze blew through the window, so she could listen to what he was saying quite clearly.
“Not really… I am out already.”
“Well Just careful, you know all of these.”Riley pointed out.
“Don’t worry , I Will be .”
For the meantime she hung the phone, instead she concentrated more on the driving not stopping for a minute even as she through the entire Vicinity that led to the City mailing company.
On another day she would had made do or a chauffeur not in this scenario, she needed to solve all of these by herself and thought it was best she did all of this by herself-
She felt more comfortable knowing the twins had been with her parents since all these dramas. Without the bustle of the city, the car seemed a lot different from what it used to be.
There was something different about the entire situation, however, perhaps because she was thinking too much about it. She could feel that bit of thrill, as goosebumps formed pebbles on her skin, she sighed hoping it would take away the feeling she had, but it did nothing.
Her heart beat heavily just as she was about to arrive. She had this fear in heart that had to do with what to expect, but still she couldn’t give up … . it was the last thing that she wanted at that moment.
As she stopped at the parking lot Still thinking about all that was going to happen as soon as she would alight, her phone buzzed in the console, as a call came in. She picks up the phone and murmurs something into it, smirking at the fact that Riley had called right in time.
“We would have to speak later. I am just arriving.”She muttered.
“Really, I thought as much.”Riley answered.”So how is it so far.”she muttered.”Have you seen anyone?”
“Not yet, no one is making their way down here.”She was about to say -.
Just then she heard someone tapping on her glass, she turned and could see the guard standing not too far away, the least of word’s left her lips before her eyes caught the sight of a guard standing closer to where she was.
Seeing who It was, she pauses for a minute before speaking again to the phone.”I’d call you back.”
“You are not allowed to park here.”
She couldn’t make out what he said through the glass but gave a positive nod to whatever he was saying and instinctively drove to where the marked park was.
“Alright sir, I will get to you later.”
She looked up after she was done with a quite satisfying look on her face, she was her now, she had to face this.

Breathing a sigh of relief, she alighted her fear and made way to the company. She found the receptionist who happened to know who she was -trying her best to keep her face neutral. She listened to the last bit of instructions.
“No problem, we will get someone to meet later with you.”
She shrugged her shoulders and let her lead get her to wherever she wanted, surprising enough she was quite oblivious of the fact that it was straight away to the Administrative office –
The receptionist smirked as she stepped aside and let her walk in.
“He will be here soon…”she muttered over to her and walked away
It’s also eerily quiet in the room forcing her to frown as she had accepted to meet him waiting, she thought about the urge feeling in her soul and what she would do if nothing was found.
“I hope they fucking find something.”She muttered under her breath.
Just as she was about to sit comfortably, she heard the sound of footsteps as someone looked to be approaching –
Standing now Infront of his door, he looked at the woman right there in his office, Mr Daniel Watkin cleared his throat and watched as she dragged a heavy breath.
“Get it together. Everything will be fine.”he mutters as he walks in, much aware of why she is there. .
She dragged another heavy breath, which gave her enough reassurance to nod her head and then turn to where he was .
He walked into the room, He shakes his head and awkwardly gestures at her to sit after they both shook hands.
She looked at her intensely.”You are at the right place, I had been searching for all duplicates of mail but still we have yet to find anything.”
It’s same words all over again, this time with the true inflection behind reminding her of her need to be bury her expectations-
She could still hear her heart pounding inside her soul, she said a quick prayer and swallowed the lump behind her throat as she sat up straighter, and the same familiar anxiety she tampered down before returning.
She tried breathing through her exasperation –
“So, what’s next.?”she asks him slowly.”You know I don’t have all day, how can you help me.”She asked all these questions at once without waiting for an answer.
He grimaced immediately when he heard her say that.”We will do all we can, trust me .”
“Wait a minute, I am going to pay .”She rolled her eyes and took out her cheque book.
“Just be yourself, remember we are doing this because of the connection we have- you can trust me.”
Trust!
She definitely stopped believing that word after Tonia had kidnapped christian literally and gotten away after giving her a pep talk, so she was going to trust anyone it was definitely Zero.
“Can I use the ladies?”She asked.
The Man pointed the way and soon she was there walking away and doing all she could to get herself to let go of everything that was happening.
All that filled the distance was the sound of her heart ricocheting.
She walked out after washing her hands, leaving the water running. Her heart for a moment at the door as she approached the door she saw Watkin walking into it with her chest heaving.
“You are back?”He looked up briefly then looked away.
He led her back to the room she had been in a couple of minutes ago.
“Have you been waiting for me.”he asked wanting to know if she had just taken too long or she had gotten tired of waiting.
“Yeah, wanted to discuss something important with you, you see I just want to tell you that this is important. .. I need to find this soon and it is important.”
She dragged a breath and she saw him sigh, he most definitely must be tired of how much she had dragged the entire situation –
What more could she want… Laura was certain those thoughts were going through his mind.
Instead he appeared to be thinking about another thing as all he did was smile -.
“I really don’t want to stress you.”
He smiles”Why don’t I offer you a drink so you can just settle down and I’d do all the hard work.”
“I don’t want to sit.”
“I insist.”
“I’d pass, I am not interested.”She stared at him stubbornly
Finally, his shoulders droop in defeat.”Suit yourself,”he sighs.”So what is your decision?”He asked.
“I’d search with you.”

The interior of the storage was the same a everything else, the walls was filled with cabinets leaving the room all choked up-
She was feeling quite restless, as she had Imagined how hard it was going to be.
“We have Two hours before we close, so we can as well do what we can as long as we have enough time to get on with what we want.”
She did exactly as instructed, ignoring the fact that her heart was beating heavily as she searched, her Heart was already overridden by fear and anxiety as he continued, not stopping even for a Breath.
She found one for the doors opened and found her way into another chamber, they were a thousand names with Antonia’s name and it made it harder..
Laura, frustrated, let out a deep sigh while wiping her brows.
“I just found the perfect place where I could be .”he muttered again over her shoulder.”Let’s search over there.”
She looked around at the heavy shelves filled with books lookin, She found a space between two old books shelves and poured the contents of one to the floor and kept one, just as she was settling down.
“You should be careful with that “A voice came from the door.
She scowls and bites back her irritation at his dismissal.”I know… ”
With the time drifting away slowly she felt it was much more necessary she got rid of all that was happening, she needed to at the moment so it won’t be much more difficult… .
She felt the need to rid her heart off the tension, at that seconds as she did nothing but look-
The search was more intense than the first had been but again as the door was opened, she was losing hope but right there she found the last bit of cabinet. 640 so far all duly searched.
The man behind is impressed as he looked at her with inquisitive eyes as though aware of what she waa doing, she seemed to be so keen on finding whatever this was.
She glances at her watch, rolling her eyes and wondering how long it was going to take.
Once again his voice came over.”Ain’t you tired.”
Standing up straighter. She stared into his eyes.”How long is it going to take now? ”
His gray eyebrows shot to his forehead as he looked a bit caught off guard.”Thirty minutes.”
He glances down at her.”You can come check in tomorrow.”
Immediately he left, it gave her the much needed time to carry out the main plan that had brought her here
“The Coast is clear.”She muttered to herself…
If there was anywhere he wouldn’t check it was most definitely the executive wing, that held important names.
It might be harder searching for Antonia but with a man like Christian, it was most definitely easier like Walking through a park.
Christian name sat at number 6 … She looked back again, hoping to herself that no one was there. She took out three envelopes marked “wife “and tossed them into her bag.

Her bedroom seemed smaller after what she had done, she wondered how long it would take her to notice, she sat on the comfortable chair close to her desk.
The entire feeling that filled her mind was that of animosity as she searched.
She texts Riley to let her know she’s arrived safely, but the message takes longer to send, as a thunder clasped..
Laura she thought she’d go to bed immediately but she doesn’t –
Before bed, she opens her laptop and researches more about the mail, all she needed was to type the Code and she’d trace back the City.
She shivers as was about to in put the last bit of word’s, again she thought it through -Riley words play in her head reminding her that this was a fucking risk.
The chip on your shoulder felt heavy but she was ready to take all of it, her chest thudded heavily –
But she can do this. She knows she can.
Nothing can go wrong in this short while, all this filled the back of her mind as she put the last digit in.
She stared blindly as it read.
