IT has been quite a strange night for Christian who was just waking up at that moment, everything felt distance in his head even as he tossed one more time and opened his eyes to a bright new day, he could tell immediately that something felt off about the whole entire situation, first was the fact that he still couldn’t remember anything and the other had to do with the fact that he wanted to bad find out what was running through his mind.
Sensing that bit of uncertainty that was at the back of his mind, he had awoke, sensing he wasn’t in her own room-
It took him quite a while to remember how the previous day had gone, as he turned again on the bed with the surface beneath him too firm, he sat up on the transitioning his weight to . It…
There he covered his face with his hands, one thought or the other filled his mind and the most cynical of It had to be one.
What was he going to do about all of this?
Still feeling a bit devastated he felt… numb… as if he was drifting on a cloud, he turned to the woman that was sleeping next to him, motionless as though dead!
At that moment Antonia opened her eyes a crack to check, wincing as the bright light that seemed to stream through the already opened window to where she was.
With her still dilated pupils, a large expanse of light met with her and Instinctively she shielded them with her arms.
One thought primarily filled her mind and that was why she could find him staring at her through her fluttering lashes.
Hmm… Does he remember everything now?
It was all happening too fast, and there was no way for her to tell what was running in his mind as well till she looked at him
While trying to play out the thought that was at the back of her mind, she felt it was best she just opened her eyes, and let the questions out –
She blinked at him sleepily and smiled sheepishly hoping to herself it wouldn’t be one of those days since he arrived.
“Good morning ”
She spoke while yawning, he was feeling rather . Intrigued by it all –
“Good morning, yourself.”His voice was deep as she spoke, he made a rasp as he kept his gaze on the beautiful hazard his memories had failed to recognize.
Christian was a mess himself, his dark hair was falling in his eyes and he still hadn’t had a day or two old beard’s.
She made an attempt to reach out to him wondering how he would react, at first she caressed his stubbled jaw and she pressed a kiss to his lips. .
“How are you feeling?”he questioned.
“Hmm, I am fine,”she answered.
She tried to shift herself up , In such a way that she was kneeling on the bed.
Soon she kissed him again and he let her, though he was still confused he let himself every bit of the kiss –
Soon her breathing was in time with his own; steady and deep as she drifted off to a state of oblivion while kissing his lips, her fingers gently brushing his hair as he drew her closer and was leaning over her, softly calling her name when his lips clefted with hers.
After what seemed like a while he stopped, he looked confused as he looked at her again, she wanted to know what was running through his mind and so she thought of asking.
“What are you thinking about?”
He drew himself away from her and stared deep into her eyes. He thought it was best that he let her understand all that was happening in his soul. The best way for him to do this was for him to tell her how his dream had gone the previous night.
“I had a funny dream, I saw a woman…”
Christian tried remembering what the name was but couldn’t, it felt like a glitch in his memory.
He was lost, and looked away to the window so quickly that he failed to see the smirk on Antonia’s face, she braced herself and followed the direction of his gaze with her eyes and she asked her unspoken question.
“What are you still worried about?”She made the effort to look at him.”You have everything you need here and it would be a real mess to let yourself forget all of this.”
He was still letting himself drift into the silence filled out the surrounding room though he was still thinking about what she had said, he was wearing the sweater she had gifted him and when she saw it. Something filled up her heart.
If there was anything she wanted it was for it to remain this way forever , could it?
He chuckled at the memory of the kiss, perhaps this was the only thing she needed, funny enough she was all he could remember and even at that there were just flickers of her in his memory.
He felt a headache and winced, the expression on his face hinted at pain.
Just then he could remember the dream..”Yeah I remember a bit of the dream, it was just a name… Lau… Laura.”
She shrieked -Just the woman’s name caused a shiver to run through her. Ambivalence filled her over what could possibly happen, she thought of her fate. She hated what she had done, taking him away from everything.
The sane woman had been trying to ruin her relationship with him… Yet, no matter how she felt about the woman, her own part in taking him away was a huge risk.
It wasn’t in her nature to show her fears, but she knew if the situation arose again, she’d do
whatever was needed in order to protect her sanity -She’d come so close to losing him and she wouldn’t let him go again.
She sat there watching him look at her for an answer, the steady rise and fall of his chest rolled a musical heartbeat through the room.
A slight rustling sound drew her attention and she cautiously turned to see him standing up on the bed as he made his way away from where she was to the window like he had usually done, still underneath all of this she could still see that dark circles under his eyes that gave them a seriously worried look and darkened his jaw line.
“Are you still worried?”She asked, feeling a wave of love and warmth washed over her as she viewed his beloved features.
As she did, she let her mind through everything again as he scanned the man from top only to stop when it looked like he would turn and find her right there again.
The events of the past hours came rushing back to her. As she relieved those last moment of the kiss, she could still remember that night of the cufflinks, the night she had left –
Tears pricked at the back of her eyes and she blinked rapidly to keep them at bay, she thought of herself as an evil person but she wasn’t, to her she was protecting what was hers yet So much had happened.
Her bed wasn’t this uncomfortable. Licking her lips, she tried to swallow the thought that was right there running through her mind as she did
Her mouth was dry, telling herself that she needed water. She got up from bed and made way to the faucet in the other room.
There while bracing her hands and looking at the man that was still there all by himself, a thought filled out her mind, she had to keep him to herself forever.
