Tonia opened the door and in a funny way she could see anyone that was knocking at that moment, she was sure that she had heard the knock and in a way she could feel her heart thumping not the very least.
She returned back to the room-
It didn’t take too long that she found herself falling into a deep sleep. She had thought she heard Chris walk in and stand close to her, but it was all in head.
She awoke later to find herself alone in bed. There was a dent in the pillow beside her, and from how rumpled the cover was, she could tell that he was somewhere around.
With a soft sigh she raised her head and looked around. There was no sign of Chris in the room so she listened carefully, wondering if he was in the next room.
All was silent, Rolling out of bed she made her way across to the bathroom, her feet silent
on the soft carpeting.
When she walked back out a couple of minutes later it was to a well cooked meal, he extended his arm, ushering her into the bed.
.”I wasn’t sure what you liked to eat, so I made all of this.”
“You cooked this?”She looked at him in surprise.
.
She froze at the unexpected gesture, but he sat down opposite her as if it was nothing.
She took a first bite before realizing that all of this could be a trap and that he might want something.
“What do you want?”She asked.
“I am sure you are doing this for something to spill.”
He locked his gaze on her, he licked his lips about to speak but he couldn’t, he couldn’t find his words.
“Nothing, just enjoy your meal.”
He knew he fucked up and perhaps he might not have an opportunity of that kind.
Never again!

Gripping the golf club, Damien hit the ball and it went straight into the hole.
“Nice shot.”Christian complimented, hitting his palms together. The duo were in the open air, playing golf.
“I told you, I’m better now. I should think of competing in the Olympics next year. Trust me, I’m going to win a gold medal.”He bragged, handing the golf club to Christian.
“You’re bluffing. Your shot was perfect out of mere luck, nothing else.”Christian countered as Damien placed his hands on his hips and then began to laugh.
He went on for a while before he stopped, “You’re just being jealous, just admit it.”he said, still laughing softly.
“Jealous? Why should I be when I can equally take a perfect shot? About your Olympics dream, bury it because a rookie like you will be kicked off in the first round.”Christian replied with a soft chuckle.
“Take your shot then, let’s see who’s a rookie.”
“Sure.”In a bid to prove Damien wrong, Christian hit the ball but he missed. He repeated three more times but never for once did his ball get into the hole.
About to take the fourth shot, Damien tried to relieve him of the golf club but he refused.”I will win this time around.”He said and then went ahead to shoot but just like before, he missed.
“Argh! Today isn’t my lucky day.”Christian said with a disappointed look on his face.
Laughing, Damien took the golf club from his grip and then shot the ball, “You see, it will go in so effortlessly.”He bragged and true to his words, the ball slid into the hole.
“How did you do that?”
“Simply because I’m a pro. You should learn from me, you know.”he bragged, swinging the golf club in his hand.
“I already told you today is not my lucky day.”
“Own up to your defeat and stop making up flimsy excuses.”Damien snapped at him. After a few more shots, the two men decided to take a walk around the field.
They walked to the end in silence and on their way back, Christian decided to start up a conversation. Leaning forward with his hands folded behind him, he said,
“Right now, Laura is in my apartment.”
“Really?”Damien turned his head in his direction with a raised brow.
“Yeah.”
“Oh, nice. How did Antonia react to her presence? Is she livid?”He asked with a raised brow. They had stopped walking, they were now in the middle of the field.
“I guess Antonia doesn’t have an objection to her presence. I walked in on both of them speaking, it seems that both of them will get along since it was a lively conversation. I really hope that is the case because it will ease my current fear.”
“That’s good news. I too want both of them to get along.”
Raising his head suddenly, Damien grabbed Christian’s shoulder causing him to still. Before he could inquire what the issue was, he said, “What do you think about this situation?”
“What situation?”
“Laura and Antonia getting along. Don’t you think this is the perfect time to let the cat out of the bag. Tell Antonia everything she needs to know and the burden will be lifted from you.”
“You mean I should tell her that Laura will be moving in with the kids?”
“Exactly. She has the right to know what is going on too. Keeping this to yourself only to inform her when they already move in will cause a strife. What do you
think?”Damien asked.
“It’s not a bad idea totally but I don’t think I want to go through that path yet.”
“Why? Is anything the issue? Trust me when I say this is the perfect way to do this.”He rapped.”Hey, listen up. Let’s assume Antonia had a child you know nothing about and she suddenly brings him into your home, how are you going to react?”
“I won’t be pleased.”
“Exactly, you need to employ that here too. Antonia is a human, a female at that. Things like this need to be handled with care if you want peace to reign.”
“I get you but there is a little problem at the moment.”
“And that’s?”
“I don’t know how to place it but my guts tells me something is wrong and I have to find out what it is before taking further actions.”

“Why that look?”Laura asked as she set her purse on the counter. Instead of giving a response, Rian turned around and then let out a huff. She had just returned from an outing and instead of speaking to her, he was giving her a weird look.
“I’m still not getting it here, what’s the issue? I already told you several times that if there’s any issue, it’s best if we talk it out instead of keeping mute.”She said, covering the distance between them.
“You are keeping stuff from me right?”Rian asked, stopping her on her tracks. With her brows raised, she shook her head in confusion as she wondered what he was driving at.
“Oh there you go again. A few minutes before you said we should be open to each other but you are silent now that I asked a question. Are you certain you’re going to stand by your words?”He said, his tone dripping with mockery as he glared angrily at her.
“I honestly don’t know what you are talking about, why are you making things difficult?”
“I’m not the one making things difficult, rather you’re the one. If only you tell me what you are keeping from me, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.”
Laura bit her lips as she stared back at him. Letting out a deep heave she tilted her head to the side only to start gazing at the ground with her lips caged in between her teeth.
At the moment, she was contemplating on whether she should spill or not.
“He is going to go overboard if I tell him.”she muttered, darting her eyes around.
“You still not going to say anything? Hold, what do you take me for?”He yelled, hitting his fist against the table.
Grabbing her hair with both hands, she slid through the wall onto the ground. Crouching, she began to fiddle with her fingers as she thought of the perfect words to say to him.
Knowing fully well that Rian wasn’t going to be pleased with what she had to say, she was trying to come up with something they would soothe him instead of angering him.
When she still wouldn’t say anything to him, Rian grabbed a bottle of water from the island table and then stormed out of the kitchen.
He was already heading out of the house when she appeared before him, halting his movement.
With her eyes fixed to the floor and still fiddling with her fingers, she said, “Please don’t flare up.”
“Is this why you stopped me.”he snapped at her, giving her an irritated stare.
“Can you just calm down for once and hear me out. It’s not as if I don’t want to tell you, the issue is your reaction to it.”
Rian cast her a brief glance as he uncorked the bottle of water. While he was taking a sip from it, Laura cleared her throat as she braced herself up to speak.
“Christian asked me to move in with the kids.”She finally said.
“What?”Rian yelled, spitting the water that he had lodged in his mouth onto her face.
Frowning, Laura began to wipe her face, “Why will you do that?”
“Are you out of your mind?”He yelled.
“More reason I delayed telling you.”She muttered, rolling her eyes to the back of her head.
“You’ll return to Christian and tell him that it’s impossible. I own you and so you’re mine to keep.”
“I understand but…”
“But what? You do have a backup for this bullshit huh?”
“Can you just listen to me, you’re so frustrating.”Taking in a deep breath, she exhaled trying frantically to stop herself from erupting in anger.
With her gaze now fixed on Rian who was fuming, she said, “I might be moving in with Christian, but trust me, I will not let anything come between us.”
Grabbing her phone, he took a look at himself on the screen before pushing it back to her.
“What are you doing?”
“I wanted to ascertain if I now look like a kid.”
“Come on, why are you being too dramatic? I clearly told you that nothing is going to happen between me and Christian. For goodness sake we are couples and we need trust for our relationship to bloom.”She took a pause and then continued, “Your refusal here clearly shows that you don’t trust me.”
“If that’s the case, no problem but I still maintained my stance. You are not going to move in with Christian for whatever reason.”He said with an air of finality.
All she waa going to wait for was the right time and moment for her to ask again she thought this didn’t seem that bad for a first attempt and the fact that he was all smiles about it gave an hint that she can as well for all the way to try this one more time, it made more difficult the fact that all of this things happening was past a vocal point.
She let herself relax as she went through the entire situation again right from the onset, she was being cynical about all that was happening –
Judging from his response she was certain that there was a way for her to pull this off.
It was going to be lost, definitely difficult from how she saw it but totally not impossible.
A short while later, Laura sood in the doorway of her room, she stared around at the place she won’t be for long, already she had Been working on how to pack all her possessions –
Slowly, she entered, her steps echoing in the nearly empty space. She touched the flower and told herself how she’d miss all of this.
A reminiscent smile played over her lips as she recalled all the times she’d had spent, In a way .
tears threatened and she turned away.
She was going to ehr through with this, she talks to herself.
Swallowing hard, she walked back to her room.
