Still it was hard for any of them to get their minds about anything that was happening, they seemed rather startled about the entire situation that was happening -.
At that moment everything was coming a bit as a shock to her, she had thought that it would be easy for her to deal with the entire situation, but as it was it was becoming more and more difficult at the moment.
It made the situation more difficult because she couldn’t comprehend everything and at the same time she thought it was hard for her to deal with the entire situation, she couldn’t get her mind over everything that was happening.
“Do you know what I think?”She grimaced.
“Tell me.”He asked.
“I think it is best that I speak to her, who knows she might be going through a lot and in a way I think I am to blame for that.”
She couldn’t bring herself to admit to whatever was happening.
“You know I feel it is best we just speak to people and listen to whatever is there to say.
Laura though cautious of the situation to what the other woman said, she was going to make that one call and hopefully it will get her whatever it is that she so much wanted at that moment.
She was still trying to rally her mind round the fact that Antonia could be having drug problems.
For what seemed like a while-
Riley and Laura sat in the office, waiting for Riley’s friend to pick up the call, “Don’t fuck me up when I need you Bailey”Riley kept saying and Laura couldn’t hold her laugher
She was the one who saw Antonia but Riley was the one doing all the job to find out what she was up to, but if the man she met had been a drug dealer then it would be so bad. Could Antonia be doing drugs? Was that what was in the box that the man gave her and maybe the bag she gave him was filled with money to pay for the drugs she got?
What if it was even worse, what if she was in some Mafia gang club and the man was a murderer who did a wonderful job for her, or what if she was buying guns and shits. Laura’s mind went far while thinking. It couldn’t be any of those things.
“Hello”
“She picked up”Riley almost yelled and Laura got out of her thoughts and stared at her friend.
“I was napping Riley, sorry”Bailey’s voice did sound tired, as if she had just woken up. Laura felt bad that they had woken her up just to ask for something like that.
“I’m sorry to disturb your sleep bailey, I sent you a picture earlier, I want you to confirm something for me,”Riley said
“I will check it,”Bailey said and the three women were silent. After a few seconds, Bailey cleared her throat.”That’s a picture of a tattoo, Riley don’t tell me that you called me because you need my advice on which tattoo to get because I will get into my car, drive over to where you are, and fuck you up”
Laura chuckled, Well it’s something that Riley could do. She thought that it was best for her to handle the entire situation by herself.
“No silly, I wouldn’t even draw a tattoo that looks like I am the devil’s incarnate. The tattoo looks like one I have seen before so I need you to take a close look. I’m looking for the man who drew it”Riley lied, they didn’t want to tell her that they were looking for the man who owned the tattoo.
“Okay, let me take another look to see if I would recognize it,”Bailey said
“Thank you,”she muttered.
“I think a drug dealer that supplies Collins has a tattoo like this though, he went on and on about how the man was strict while doing business with him but I might be wrong so I don’t know,”Bailey said
“Yes, that’s where I saw the man, with Collins”Riley immediately turned to Laura to say and the two of them beamed with joy.
They were like two detectives solving murder mysteries only that they were just businesswomen and there was no murder involved. Hopefully
“I can ask Collins about the man and text you the address if you want to get something from him”Bailey added
“I would love that, thank you Bailey”Riley said
“You are welcome, bye”With that the line went dead and the two women looked at each other and then did a high five.
“As soon as she sends the address, we will go together after work because I can’t let you go snooping around a drug dealer all alone. You can’t get all the fun while I get just the gist after”Riley pouted
“Okay then. Let’s get back to work, let me sign the proposals so you can take it back to the head office”Laura said and the two of them went back to work.
****
After work hours, Laura and Riley drove to the location where they would meet the drug dealer after Bailey, Riley’s friend, sent the address. They drove for thirty minutes before they got to the location. It was located in a secluded area but not that hard to find.
“Here goes nothing, keep your pepper spray within reach Laura,”Riley said.”Sure,”Came Laura’s reply.
They held each other and walked into the building, it wasn’t looking like a crime scene or a place where they sold drugs. It was a warehouse and people were still working inside. They met a much older man standing outside the building smoking a cigarette
After much banter, they decided to approach him.”Excuse me, sir, we are looking for a man”Riley was the bold one so she did the talking.
The man stared at them and looked away, “I can’t help you.”He hadn’t even heard what they were saying yet and he was already refusing.
Laura and Riley exchanged looks and already knew what to do, so Riley brought out some money and passed it to the man. He quickly kept the money and smiled, “What do you need?”
Are you kidding?
Laura quickly showed him the phone and zoomed in on the tattoo.”I know him, he comes here often to see his clients,”The man said
“Clients?”Riley asked
“Yes, he is a drug dealer. I buy my cigarettes from him sometimes but he isn’t one to harm anyone”The man added
“No, he didn’t harm anyone, thank you for your help sir,”Laura said and she left the place with Riley. As they drove away from the building, Laura began to talk.
“I am worried about Antonia too, I wonder what she wants to get herself involved in”
“Maybe she’s just doing all these to get attention because she’s bored”Riley joked but Laura didn’t find it funny.
“What do you mean?”She asked
“I mean Christian has probably been neglecting his wife these days…”
“He is a busy man, she knows the kind of man she got married to and even if she wanted attention, dealing with a drug dealer isn’t one that’s advisable”Laura frowned as she spoke
“Easy there, don’t get all defensive when it comes to Chris, I was just teasing you. What do you think we should do? Do you want to tell Christian?”Riley asked
“How about speaking to Antonia instead.”She insisted on what she had said earlier.
****
Her car made way to the last Place she most definitely would have imagined herself going to at that moment, she thought it was best for her to speak to Antonia herself about the entire situation rather than to Chris.
Her heart was the only sound she could hear from the car that moment, one moment it was beating heavily and in the other it was stopping.
It was as though her soul was raging a storm at that momentz she was filled with that but was aching to find answers to the question in her mind at that moment.
The ache and yearn continued to fill her up till she was just a few drives away from his apartment.
What if this was a mistake…
She stopped to think for a moment, still all she felt was silence.
She had told herself that she had never hated a thing in her life but right there at that moment, she resented the feeling she was starting to have.
It was a feeling that burned deep in her soul l, one that felt like she was getting punched in the throat, or being stabbed simultaneously.
As she sat there In the car taking as much breath as she could, she could feel as her chest tightened, each breath a burn in her lungs.
She got out of the car and stood, her gaze paused on the door as her heart gave quick beat
Should she do this?
She took a deep breath as she stepped forward
*****
Antonia was totally unaware of the situation that was going on outside at the moment, she was busy inside, with an unswerving twinge of soreness that ached In her throat.
She had Been feeling that urge of late, she had been feeling the urge to talk to Christian about all that was going on but in a way, she couldn’t get her mind off the entire issue at hand.
She hated the feeling she was having, she thought it was best that she opened up to him about the entire situation.
The reminder made her warm everywhere, though she knew it shouldn’t be off late, she thought she was taking too much in and had to let go of some of the way things were going at the moment, as it was her feelings toward him were flighty and annoying to even herself.
She wanted a straight path to follow, with maturity and thoughtfulness, she didn’t seem to find herself speaking to him about anything at that moment. In a way he made the entire situation more confusing for her to deal with.
She was thinking about the situation and how she was going to handle everything that seemed to be the issue at the moment.
Diverse thoughts filled her mind and coupled with it was a more deeper feeling of animosity, she took out her phone and called the man that she had been in contact with.
“Am I getting any supplies today?”She spoke rather discreetly.
She seemed satisfied by whatever answers she got as a smile formed on her face.
She was just starting to settle back on the chair when she heard a knock on the door.
