Christian was lost at words, “You have to think this through,”Damien added.
“What about the kids?”Christian asked rhetorically. He couldn’t bring himself to leave the kids, nor could he leave Antonia.
Damien seemed to have heard his thoughts and replied, “They will be fine without you, you don’t have to worry about them. After all they’re not the first kids to grow with a single parent,”
Christian was enraged when he heard this, he cast an angry look at Damien.
“Stay out of this, I don’t need your opinion anymore,”he growled. Damien was surprised at the sudden change of Christian. Wasn’t he the one who had asked him for an advise? Why had he suddenly change?
“But you were the one who asked for my-”
“And I regret asking for your harsh and cruel opinion!”Christian hissed.”Ill do whatever suits me the best, you can now leave,”he added.
“I’m sorry if I had-“again Damien was cut short.
“I asked you to get out, didn’t I?”Christian asked and gave Damien a cold look, looking embarrassed, Damien was about to go out when a sudden knock sounded on the door.
The door opened and Rhys walked in, Damien cleared his throat as Rhys walked past him and say on the seat opposite Christian.
“What’s with the look on both of you face?”Rhys asked and adjusted his shirt.
“What is it?”Christian asked with a cold voice.
“I’ve come to ask you for a joint cooperation, if you can join business with my company,”Rhys replied.
“Joint cooperation? And what’s the share?”Christian asked.
“Oh! I almost forgot to tell you that Laura’s company has to join in this cooperation,”Rhys said and slapped his forehead.
Damien’s gaze darkened when he heard Rhys mentioned Laura. He wasn’t going to let that home wrecker join in this cooperation, as long as he was alive and healthy.
“What do you mean? Why does her company has to join?”He asked with an hard tone. Rhys turned his head to him.
“If I can remember clearly, this conversation is between Christian and I, not you and I,”Rhys retorted with an angry look.
“Stop this!”Christian yelled and slapped his desk, the two men in front of him weren’t moved by his action, instead they glared at each other.
“I’m here for you, Christian, while I’m here, ask him not to interfere in this,”Rhys said. Damien sneered and scoffed.
“You want that woman to join in this cooperation?”Damien asked and turned to Christian.”Are you going to allow her join in this? Have You thought about the outcome if-“he was cut short by Rhys who thought he had said enough.
“What is it? Why can’t she join? Or are you scared she might get more shares?”Rhys asked..
“You can go ahead and give her your company, do I care about it? No I don’t!”Damien replied with a chuckle.
“Then stay out of this!”Rhys snapped.
“Are You willing to let her join?”Damien asked Christian, Christian frowned at him.
“I don’t know yet, I have to think about it,”he replied.
“Think about it?!”Damien sounded frustrated at he stared at Christian like he was foolish. Rhys had had enough of Damien’s lousiness and punched him hard in the face.
Damien was cut off guard, he shook his face and rushed to Rhys and punched him. They ended up on the floor, Christian shut his eyes tightly, trying to calm himself from going berserk.
He stood up from his seat and yelled, “You both should stop this stupidness! Get up from the darn floor this instant and get out of my office!”
Both Damien and Rhys got up at once, they looked rough and each one had gotten a bruise on the face.
“Look at how stupid you both look! Was there a cause to fight?”He asked.
“I’m sorry,”Rhys apologized.”I’ll take my leave now,”he added and was about to leave when Christian stopped him.
“I’ll think about what you said,”Christian said sounding tired, Rhys nodded and left the house while Christian went back to his seat.
“How do you feel after the fight?”He asked with a mocking tone as he cast an irritating look at Damien.
“You saw it, he started it,”Damien replied, trying to defend himself.
“Why were you like that? Why did you have to fight? Was there a cause to fight?”Christian asked, he was angry at Damien’s actions and looked disappointed.
“Are you willing to let Laura join? Few minutes ago you were thinking about choosing between Antonia or Laura with the kids, now you want to join-“Damien was cut short by Christian.
“Like I said earlier, I’ll deal with it myself, I don’t need your opinion again,”Christian rudely replied.”But was that the reason why you fought with him?”He suddenly asked.
Damien bit his lips hard until it bled, he then released the lip he had vented his anger on.
“Yes,”He replied.
“Why does it seem like you have another reason? Are you sure that is the truth? Because I noticed right from when Rhys came in, your expression and mood changed instantly,”Damien knew he had been caught, he had no other option than to confess to Christian.
“What you said is true, Laura isn’t the reason why i not angry with him, but Riley is,”he admitted.
“Riley? What’s up with her?”Christian asked.
“I don’t like how Rhys is trying to snatch her from me, whenever I see him, I get angry. I feel like strangling him and I wish I could get an opportunity, I would not let that opportunity pass by me,”he said, the tone of his voice was filled with anger and hatred, Christian noticed this and smiled a little.
“So you’re both fighting over Riley? That’s good,”Christian said and chuckled.
“No!”Damien shook his head.”Riley is mine, nobody dares compete with me over her, cause they’ll fail!”
“Whatever,”Christian said and dismissed him.
