Twilight beckons.
He is done listening to her Cock and bull stories, much as he loved her and would believe anything she said it was hard to justify what she had explained as her reasons.
“So you’re telling me all of these were just pranks to know if I was cheating on you?”
She looked up at him with a face filled with amusement, crazy as it was she knew beyond fact the need to keep up with every supposed lie she had told for the past one hour.
“Yes.”sh
She could see that hint in his eyes.”Do you think I am lying? “She feigned a pitiful look.
“No, I am not saying -“he drops his hands, frustrated.
He rolled his eyes as she watched her storm away, she hurried down the hallway, acting all frustrated at the fact that he had tried using his Influence on her, again, while trying to coerce her out of her secrets.
She shut the door behind her, there with her fingers running through her hair, and then let out a sigh.
That was so fucking close! She thought to herself, the awareness that he was minutes away from probing her into confusion made her heart race fast.
While she was ready to open up to him, there was that tiny voice at the back of her mind telling her that her secrets were her own, and her story belonged to her. It wasn’t his to know-
She sighed, she thought back to the look he had given her when he had walked in later that evening. She had wanted to initiate a conversation but he was quick to brush everything aside with a wave of his hands.
She stood alone at a spot, wallowing in the thought of what his reaction would be if he found out the other things she was hiding.
An idea came to her as she watched the fire rekindling at the fireplace, soon as she heard
Christian driving away from the parking lot she set off to the business of ransacking the entire house for more controversial evidence of her latest antics that involved anything Laura.
Soon she was watching the ember burn the papers slowly, rekindling as she turned it with the end of a pool stick.
Laura’s house address was the last to burn, and it did slowly but inevitably.
The light from the flame reflected deep in the core of her eyes making her face sparkle in the dark, there she smirked hard.

Ever since the altercation between the two, Antonia had been noticing the drift in his mood, he kept things normal but still had that questionable look on his face that stood steadfast on not believing that she told the truth.
At first, she was feeling compelled to come out with the truth but the fear of how he would view her after any altercation that might arise had her changing her mind.
It was exactly a week since the entire madness and she spent that Saturday trying to purge the toxic thought from her mind.
Or at least, she tries.
She purposely looks at pictures that had just been sent to her by the man she had put on standby to trail Laura and her twins.
When the last in that roll popped up on the screen with Christian in one of it, she was bitter.
She didn’t know what to believe, her thoughts were filled with the fact that he might be with the kids just to make up for the fact that he couldn’t have one.
There was nothing controversial looking at the picture, as a matter of fact, it was one she would have overlooked on a normal day.
Still, this particular one stuck to the back of her mind, unwilling to leave.
Keeping the pictures open on her laptop screen and burning the reality of what she felt into her mind, she picked up her phone and texted him.
Antonia: “Where are you?”
She looked again at the time the last picture had been taken and gave a stern look before returning her gaze to her phone.
He was either taking too long to reply or she was being paranoid, she knew it was either one of the two feelings creeping through her soul just as the text came in.
Christian: “At work, why are you asking? ”
She wanted to speak out of spite, call him a liar or whatever for lying to her but she kept her cool.
Antonia: “No problem, I was just checking up on you.”
She went offline as soon as she was done speaking, she tried riding herself off the guilt and anxiety she was feeling at the moment but
When that doesn’t work, she goes through more details about her next plan.
At that moment, she couldn’t stop the fear and anxiety that was beating heavily in her heart-
Again, she stared at his picture, trying to understand the man and why would lie about his current situation. She thought it was best she took this on by herself.
She closed the laptop and put it to sleep, she hurriedly moved up the stairs and when she was coming down a couple of minutes later it was all dressed up.
With a scarf and dark shades, she thought herself to be perfectly fa? aded.
Soon, she was out in her car driving to a place that was stuck in the back of her mind.
She needed to see things for herself and know why he was there.
Following the directions, she takes the lone road towards the hat that leads to the house. She drove slowly and watched the number at the lamppost.
When she gets to five, she slows down and pulls up out of the driveway, a chill runs down her. s spine.
There’s a small voice that tells her maybe she should turn back, and this was a mistake.
But the stronger voice, again like it had been doing recently dictates her decisions,
presses on.
So she parks adjacent to the building, looks up at the house, and pulls on the shades before stepping out.
Images of the doctor telling her the result lash in her mind, and she blinked back tears.
If she thinks about her too long, she’ll drown in a sea of tears and she doesn’t want that.
She just wanted to see things for herself, and just then the door opened.
