Antonia was awakened by the dip in the mattress, she turned to see him sitting on the side of the bed.
At that moment, he seemed to have a lot running through his mind as she could tell from his frequent sighs. Was he worried about the results?
She was quick to push the thought out of her mind, just in time as he turned to look at her.
Antonia, who was already awake, pretended to be asleep just as his gaze touched her skin. She could see him through her fluttering eyelids staring intensely at her but didn’t open her eyes.
When she felt the soft brushing on her cheekbone. She opens her eyes abruptly.
He nodded.”I knew it.”He chuckled.
He caresses her chin while looking at her intensely, almost as though yesterday hadn’t happened.
“Been craving looking into those eyes of yours.”He kissed her on her chin and she groaned.
“Common don’t get all naughty, I have a lot planned for today and would end up doing nothing if you don’t stop.”She murmured.
He chuckled.
“I don’t mind, we can spend the day together… I don’t have anything to do.”
She grimaced.”But I do, what is the time now?”
When he told her the time at first she exclaimed, the next moment she was racing out to the bathroom, he was surprised by her reaction.
“You forgot your purse…”he was muttering.
The door slams and once again Christian was left alone in the comfort of the room engulfed with silence wondering to himself whatever came over her.
******
She arrives at a park and only when she wanted to reach out for her exclusive membership card did she notice her missing purse.
In the secluded part of a park, Antonia walked cautiously shrouded by the shadow of the tree’s, she looked around cautiously.
As her shoes made squeaky noises against the ground, she ran her plans again through her mind, again .
For one minute, it felt to her as though she was evil, as She could feel that constant reminder from her conscience telling her that all she was doing was wrong and she had to find a way to get rid of the guilt she was feeling.
Still she thought she couldn’t go down without a fight, and what she was calling it whatever – seemed more or less like that, though it couldn’t thaw the coldness she felt in her soul.
For her conscience- she wished she could put the thought of previous day out to her mind, she wished she was a different person, one who could put the past behind her and
forget.
Still she knew what all of this could turn out to be if it went all bad, she was certain that she could just go ahead ruin the trust he had for her and so push him into another woman’s arms.
It had been twenty minutes waiting and she was starting to get tired of him running late, she was constantly feeling all jittery about the passersby hoping no one would recognize her.
“I am there now.”She hung the call and waited patiently.
Her identity seemed to be hidden by the scarf and shades she was putting on, she adjusted the scarf as a soft wind blew across tajik rustled leaves with it.
“You took a long time.”she stated clearly to the man that soon reached where she was.
He had a smirk on his face and dark shades in as well, both sat at the end of a bench in such a way that it would be hard to tell if any had something in common.
“You only informed me about the plan last night, how do you expect that I work on things that quickly?”
Before he could say more words, she clicked at her phone … Soon the other phone beeped.
His jaw dropped, he scratched his jaw anyways all over.
“That is just for the last job, you would pay more if you do this appropriately and discreetly , remember.”
He didn’t spare a look at her, as both continued with their fa? aded personalities- Antonia as a woman taking a rest and the other man , a blind man with a dog.
It seemed to be working quite well as none pulled attention.
“What do you want?”
He asked while he sat closer to her on a bench that appeared a bit old and all rickety, she thought it was a matter of time before it gave way .
She thought about his initials with a deep breath, what does she want?
Lot of questions flew through her mind at that moment, she didn’t want to think about it. If there ever was a sigh calling out weaklings she felt she would most definitely make ten lists.
“I just want her gone out of the picture.”
It was his turn to take a deep breath, he dust off the lint on his crisp gray suit and adjusted his cane stick as his ring and cufflinks sparkled in the sun.
“You want her dead?”
The thought of his question sent shivers down her spine.
“Dead!”She grimaced.”Of course not.”
Her reaction drew a grimace from him, a look that could have come off as being all preppy and ostentatious, yet hiding the fact that he was dangerous.
“I am not asking that you kill her.”
She could see the darkness in his eyes and for some reason she was excited that she hadn’t fallen for whatever this was.
He sat back against the bench.”So, what do we do now? Just…”
She thought about it for a while, wondering what the best thing to do that moment would be.
“I just want you to find a way round this, that shouldn’t be that hard.”
“Alright then, I know what to do… That doesn’t involve murder.”
In some way, she kept hoping that he’d stop using the words as it was making her uncomfortable.
To her relief, he walked away soon with his cane stick and trained dog leading the way in perfect camouflage.
She distracted herself by looking out at the
trash-littered the vicinity that was vast before her, from a row of trees, to the stores not too far that had wooden windows, chipping paint, and was nestling between more trees.
Her focus though on the trees seemed to be far enough away, further away. hidden by the deep thoughts not her mind.
She could say her memory that moment were in a way distant yet leaving that unforgettable trail begin, but in truth, everything that was happening seemed more like a shadow in her mind.
She was worried about something deeper, something birthed from her insecurities.
Just then her phone beeped, she picked it up.
“Where are you?”Christian voice asked.
“At a park,”she answered.
“You need to get here as soon as you can.”He muttered.
“Is there any problem?”
“Well let us just say I need to find out why you have Laura’s address in your purse.”
Her nerves raced. Her fucking purse!
