“Well, what? Did you see anyone take it?” Kate’s heart was thudding in her chest not because she was worried her phone was lost but because the video was Irene’s trump card, and she lost it! If she didn’t post the video before the wedding ended, she would be done for. Irene wouldn’t let her off…

“Why would you say that, ma’am? I… I… didn’t take it, I swear.” The woman refuted, ready to walk away. Staying any longer might make her suspicious.
“Come back here!” Kate pulled her hair. “Return my phone!” Kate was on the brink of breaking down. Where would she go if Irene threw her out of her apartment?
“Ma’am, let go of me.” The assistant struggled to break free from her tight grip. Kate was huffing as she held onto her hair. She had a feeling she took her phone, and she would do anything to get it back. She would have nowhere to go if Irene abandoned her. “Give me back my phone…”
“I didn’t take it.” There was no way she was telling the truth. Bearing the pain was better than offending the billionaire.
“Please, let her go…” Another assistant noticed the commotion. “I saw a phone in a…”

Zack had been keeping an eye on Kate since the first day he saw her at the Comfort Nightclub, the same club Ivy drowned in alcohol. Kate just happened to be there when Ivy was led to the dance floor in her drunken state. She captured the scene knowing fully well that Irene might make use of it.
Seeing Kate taking videos of the woman on the dance floor, he knew it was for defamation; what other reasons could it be. He was moved to help her despite not knowing her, and he was glad he did because she was a victim of a scheme, and one of his family members was involved.
After agreeing to marry Ivy, he did a background check on her and found out about her hiatus from the entertainment industry when she was at the brink of advancement. Curious, he did further investigation, and it led him to Irene.
He tossed Kate’s phone in the trashcan waiting for her to find it. If she does, he would make sure she got rid of the video.

After the other assistant told her where to find her phone, she ran to the location to get it. On getting there, she saw her phone lying on the wedding trashcan but someone was standing beside it with his arms crossed.
“What the…” Who took her phone was obvious now. She was certain he knew what she came to collect. The look he was giving her was proof of that. ‘But why would he take it? I’m sure I haven’t done anything to anger him.’ But his cold stare made her reflect on herself. ‘Did it have something to do with Ivy?’
She broke into a cold sweat as she stared at the elegant figure with his steady gaze. His gaze gave her goosebumps as she gulped. ‘Did he know about the video? Is that why he… but why would he care. Even though he is married to Ivy, it doesn’t mean he would want to help her so badly… Oh no…’ Was he the one behind…
Just the thought of that was enough for Kate to make a U-turn. Zack Anderson was involved now; it certainly won’t be an easy game.
“Where are you going?” His deep voice sent shivers down her spine. She paused without looking back. She was in trouble now because of another person’s grudge. What had she gotten herself into?
“Have you suddenly gone numb?” He said without moving from his position.
“Um… um…” Kate had turned into a dummy. How would she reply to that? What would she say? How would she even get out of the situation?
“Were you looking for this?” Of course, he knew what she was looking for.
Kate didn’t respond. She was biting her lips as a bead of sweat appeared on her forehead.
“Pick it up.” She knew that was an order as she immediately grabbed her phone and stepped back. Staying close to him for long may cause her to burn, and she wouldn’t want that.
“I should delete the video, right?” Zack gave a slight nod, and Kate was inclined to do it immediately. Her gut feelings were right; he indeed knew about the video.
With a shaky hand, she scrolled through her phone in search of the video. “It’s done, see… I deleted it,” she tried her best to prove she had actually deleted it. “Can I go now?” Zack finally moved, and Kate flinched in response…
