Rosiley’s expression changed. “You… you and Yayoi… you…”
Rosiley was so shocked that she was unable to speak properly.
“Exactly what it seemed to be.” Morphy admitted calmly.
Seeing his nonchalant attitude, Rosiley raged. “Morphy, do you know what you are doing?”
“I know.”
“You know? Let me ask you! What can you give Yayoi? Can you marry her?”
Morphy turned silent. He was never someone who could decide his own marriage, much less promise to marry her.
Seeing that he was silent, Rosiley’s lips curled into a smirk. “Why? Are you unable to answer that?”
She took a deep breath before continuing, “I asked Sachin. He told me that your fiancée is the granddaughter of your grandfather’s old military friend, someone who had saved him before. You will be unable to break free from that marriage alliance.”
Morphy had always known about what she said. Even though the reality was hard to change, it didn’t affect his emotions for Yayoi.
“I love Yayoi.” He stared at Rosiley with a sincere and determined look.
“Let her go. She can’t be known as a third wheel.”
Rosiley stared at him before walking around him. Suddenly, she stopped in her tracks.
Because Yayoi was standing next to the shoe rack at the entryway.
She heard their entire conversation.
Yayoi was expressionless, staring silently at Rosiley and… him.
“Yayoi.” Rosiley called out in concern.
Hearing that she called “Yayoi”, Morphy turned around. Yayoi’s slim figure entered his eyes, where emotions simmered in his black pupils.
“Rosiley, you are here.” Yayoi smiled gently at Rosiley. She was expressionless, with a void in her eyes.
“Yayoi, actually…” Seeing her condition, Rosiley felt terrible and ran over to hug her. However, Yayoi walked past her directly toward Morphy.
Morphy looked at her unfocused gaze and felt heartache. He said, “Yayoi…”
“Slap!”
Before he could finish his sentence, she slapped his cheek and interrupted his speech.
Her eyes were opened wide as he stared at her with eyes full of disbelief.
She merely sneered with a cold and grieving expression. “Morphy, after this, we will have nothing to do with each other. Everything that has happened was merely a dream. Please leave now.”
“Why?” Morphy didn’t understand why she had to push him away again and again, even though they were so suitable for each other.
Even if they weren’t married, it was enough for them to love each other.
“Because…” She paused as her pupils focused a cold glare at him, then she spat out three words, “I, hate, you!”
I hate you!
The sentence erased all their past history.
The door was slammed shut.
Staring at the red and bronze door, Morphy felt as if his heart had been hollowed out. It was empty and he felt terrible.
She was right behind the door; they were only a door apart from each other.
On the other side of the door, Rosiley looked at Yayoi with concern and worry. She didn’t know how to comfort her.
Yayoi lowered her head to stare at the lock. Tears welled up in her eyes as she tried her best to hold back her tears.
She had to be heartless when she still had the chance to undo her mistakes. She had to sever all ties with him, lest more troubles happen in the future.
Their love for each other was useless if they were unsuitable for each other.
