The whole conversation repeated from Damian’s bracelet that connected with Melody’s. That is what he meant by upgrading it. He put a tracker and voice recorder on her bracelet without her knowing.
Soon, the conversation is done, and Damian turns it off.
“I see… he’s trying to use her huh…” he mumbles.
“Melody is right. He is much more stupid than I thought he was,” Matthew chuckles.
Damian twirling with the pen with his finger. He didn’t expect Frank could go this far. He thought that man would be afraid to try. But Damian felt satisfied when he did that since that meant he could play with him.
“What are you going to do?” Victor questioned, looking at him to see any type of expression on him.
“Hmm… I will just wait for Melody,” Damian replied.
“Do you think she will do it?” he frowns.
“There’s no way Melody will do it. I mean… she wouldn’t dare to betray you. Don’t you hear what she said just now?” Matthew chimed in.
Damian chuckles, “She will do it, trust me.”
They look at him stunned. Melody will betray him?
“How are you so confident about it?” Victor frowns.
“Because she will do anything to get her father’s property,” he smirks. “You know how much that thing means to her?”
Matthew sighs, “If you know she will betray you, then why do you look so calm? As far as I know, you are not someone who let someone betray you alive,”
That’s true. Whoever stabbed him in the back will live in hell by him. Damian didn’t hesitate or give any mercy to someone who broke his trust. He easily puts trust when someone works for him, but it will vanish when they break it.
The thought of killing Melody for betraying him didn’t cross his mind. He tapped the desk, thinking why he felt so calm. Instead of being angry toward her, he felt like he wanted to let her talk.
“I just… understand why she did that,” he says.
Matthew and Victor exchange looks. They stare at him for a moment and notice something glints in his eyes. A glint of…. affection?
They notice Damian change a lot. Like, why did he care to put a tracker and all of that stuff in Melody’s bracelet? Why did he care about all of this? This is not him.
“Dam, if you don’t mind me asking…” Matthew speaks up. “Why did you do all of this?”
“Did all of what?” he frowns.
“All of this. The tracker, voice recorder, the care you put in these issues, I thought Melody was just some… contract wife. Didn’t you say you wouldn’t care about her?” Matthew explains.
Damian’s eyes twitch when he asks that. He wanted to say something, but he couldn’t. As if, he lost words to answer the question. Or, he doesn’t even know why he did that. It was just something to satisfy himself.
He leans on his chair, “Don’t question what I did. Just wait for my orders to move,”
Matthew rolls his eyes when he changes the topic. Meanwhile, Victor just slightly chuckles and shakes his head.
“Anyway, when do you Melody will make a move?” Victor arches his eyebrows.
Damian smirks.
“I’m sure tonight,”

Melody kept looking at her food in her deep thought. Frank’s words keep repeating inside her mind. She could feel the argument in her head. She can’t betray Damian after what he has done for him.
Provide her with everything, accept her, consider making a deal with her and everything. How can she throw all of that just because of one simple thing?
Simple?
It’s not a simple thing.
It was the only thing that her father left for her. The only thing that meant for her after everything was being robbed of her life.
Melody gripped her spoon in frustration when the argument kept repeating inside her head.
Damian, who was eating his dinner, kept his gaze on her. His gaze was unwavering as if trying to see through her. He knows she thinks hard about it. He glances down at her food and notices that she hasn’t touched her dinner.
He slowly put down his spoon and tapped the table with his finger. Melody flinched and lifted her head.
“Are you done with your world?” he says coldly.
“I’m sorry. Did you… Did you call me or something?” Melody looks at him in guilt. Just in case he called her, and she didn’t hear it.
“No. But you look like you are in deep thought. What inside that pretty head?” he questioned while pouring some wine into his glass.
Melody hesitated to speak, “Nothing. Just think… of something.”
“You are not a type of being silent, you know that?” he says before taking a sip of his wine.
“Aww, did you miss my teasing?” she grins, back to her playful manners.
Damian arches his eyebrows, looking at her, “No. I feel peaceful.”
“Yeah, right. Just say that you miss it,” she giggles.
“Whatever. You being delusional,” he rolls his eyes. “Anyway, eat your food. Don’t just stare at it. It wouldn’t go into your mouth by staring at it.”
“I know that,”
She huffs. She starts to eat her dinner. After a moment, Damian gets up and is about to leave the dining room.
“Where are you going?” Melody questioned, munching her food.
“Shower. Why? You want to tag along?” he looks at her over his shoulder.
“Hahaha, funny,” she says sarcastically.
“I’m not joking,” he smirks.
Melody froze in her seat. She blinks her eyes before looking at him in stunned. Seeing that kind of expression made Damian’s smirks widen. He loves that expression.
“You think it’s only you who knows how to tease?”
He leaves the dining room, leaving Melody to feel flustered. Did he just tease about them showering together? A weird thoughts cross her mind, making Melody tap her cheeks.
“Gosh, he used the reverse card on me…” she whines.
After a moment, she’s done with her dinner. Melody got up and went upstairs. She still thinking about what to do. It is just a simple thing, yet, it could destroy everything.
What if she got caught and Damian threw her away?
What if he shoots her?
Even worse? He sells her off!
Melody whimpers when she thinks of that. She ruffles her hair in a frustrated way. She just wants her father’s property back. Is that hard to do?
Her steps halt when she comes across Damian’s bedroom. She stares at the black door for a moment. Leak the information about his clan. Melody looks at his study room, and she is sure he locks it.
He always did since he said it for safety.
“But… there must be something in his room, right?” she mumbles.
Melody’s breath becomes heavy. She reaches for the doorknob and holds it. Is she sure to do this? Every movement she makes screams hesitation. She takes a deep breath and lets it out before twisting the knob gently and quietly.
Her head peeks in. There was no one in the room, but she could hear the shower’s sound from the bathroom. Melody knows he’s in there already.
She steps inside and shuts the door gently. She tip-toed to the desk in his bedroom. There’s a laptop and some paper scattered on it.
“Is he serious? Does he always have paperwork on every desk?” Melody mumbles to herself.
She checked every single paper, but all of it was about his company and nothing about his clan. Melody went to check his laptop, but it was empty. Who bought a laptop but left it empty inside?
Every drawer and space has nothing useful for her. She sighs deeply, knowing she is about to give up. As her gaze wandered around the room, her eyes fell on the tab that he always used.
The tab on the bed is already on.
“Great. That means I don’t have to guess the password,” she grinned and went to bed.
She grabs it and opens every file. Melody furrows her eyebrows when she focuses. Unfortunately, due to her focus time, she didn’t hear the showers have stopped.
“Here it is!” Melody finally found the right file.
She scrolls slowly as she reads every word about his clan. Out of a sudden, something makes her snap. Is she going to do this? Why can’t she ask for help from Damian instead of betraying him?
Melody’s finger stops scrolling the screen. She shut her eyes and sighed deeply. No. She can’t do this. She can ask a favour from Damian to help him since they got the deal. So, what’s the point of all of this!?
Melody huffs and turns off the tab. “No, I can’t do this. He gives me everything, and yet… this is how I pay him?”
“My wife is more loyal than I thought,”
