After an hour, they finally arrive at the hotel. Melody could see a luxurious-looking hotel in front of her. She starts to wonder if there is anything cheap in this man’s life. They park in front of a few hotel staff that lining up, welcoming their existence.
“Let’s go,” Damian gets out of the car.
Melody shut the door closed. All staff bowed their head in respectful manners to them, especially toward Damian.
“Welcome, Mr. Damian,” they announced.
She follows him closely behind. She awkwardly smiles at the staff. “Are they always this polite to you?”
“They know the consequences of not being one,” Damian bluntly said.
“You scare me when you say that,” Melody frowns, looking at him with suspicion.
“No need to overthink it. Just think that I give them a ‘warning’—a playful warning,” he smirks.
Melody could feel shivers through her spine. She sighs and shakes her head knowing how his personality is. They walk into the lift, and the bodyguards are left behind.
“Is this your hotel?” she asks. Everything is so shiny and screaming expensive. It makes her feel like she does not belong there.
“It is,” he simply answers.
“How did you manage to run a business here? You are not here to supervise everything,” Melody looks up at him in curiosity.
“I have my trusted men here,” he answers.
Damian guided her out of the lift to their room. They walk past a lot of staff members who always stop and bow their heads. Melody crosses her arms and scoffs.
“You being respected here,”
“Like I said, they know the consequences of not being one,” Damian speaks.
Damian stops in front of the room. He takes out a key card and scans it to unlock the door. The door push opens and that’s when Melody stunned in her place for a second time.
“This is my room. It is dedicated to me. Whenever I visit this place, I will sleep over here,” Damian walks in.
There’s a big window on each side of the wall, a queen-sized bed, a big television and a long couch in front of it. The room was filled with dim light. Melody looks around the room, savouring each moment of it.
She went to the bathroom and almost fainted. A big bathtub, everything looks dangerous since the tile is black.
“You didn’t know the word cheapest, aren’t you?” she looked at him, who was sitting on the bed.
“What? You think I’m born into this world and gifted with all of these luxurious things?” he scoffs, “Me and my family work so hard to get to this rank. Not me but my father.”
Melody nods slowly. She could see the truth in his eyes. It must be hard to get to this rank. His phone rings. Damian pulls it out and slightly smirks.
“Looks like I got to go,” he stands up.
“Where are you going?” she arches her eyebrows.
“Work. You stay here and don’t even dare to leave this room,” Damian firmly said, his eyes staring right into hers. There’s a glint of warning in it.
“What if someone came and asked for you? I don’t want to deal with any stranger!!” Melody crosses her arms. She knows this man has a lot of enemies and there’s possibilities for them to come.
Damian sighs deeply, “You will be fine. My comrades are all around this building.”
“But still though…” she mumbles. Then, she gasped and beamed, “We should have a secret knock!!”
“Secret… knock?” he frowns.
“Yup! A secret knock! If you knock the way that only both of us know, I can easily recognise it was you!” Melody explains with a mix of excitement and eagerness.
“That sounds lame. You know you can just take a look from the peephole, don’t you?” Damian speaks the fact.
“Well, I can do that but it will be more fun if we have a secret knock!!” she giggles.
Damian felt his phone vibrate. He looks at the screen and walks passing her, “I have no time left.”
“But-”
“You will know when it was me, Melody,” Damian looks at her over his shoulder, “I’m sure of it.”
The door shut closed. Melody is standing there, not knowing what to say. She let out a deep sigh. She thought their bond was changing so that they could have something that only both of them knew.
Well, it seems like he is putting up a huge, tall wall between them. Wait. Why did she bother to break down the wall?
Melody shakes her head and taps her cheeks. “Maybe I should take a nice and peaceful hot tub.”
She takes off her clothes and lets them slip off her body. Her feet gently dip in the nice hot water, and she sinks her body in next. The water makes her feel like she is in heaven. She leans her head on the soft cushion behind her head.
“This is nice…” she mumbles.
Melody lifts her wrist showing the bracelet hanging. “Why did I bother to have a matching bracelet with him?”
A sigh escaped her lips, letting her body go numb, “I must be too tired…”
The calm and hot water lured her to sleep. Her eyes half-lidded. Only the sounds of dripping water could be heard.
As she was about to completely close her eyes, the sounds of the door opening and closing made her awake. Melody furrows her eyebrows since she heard it very well.
“I swear I heard something….” she mumbles. “Is it Mr. Angelo? He’s the only one who got the key card.”
Melody gets out of the tub and grabs the bathrobe. She twisted the knob and push the door open,
“Sir, did you leave something-” she was stunned to see a stranger, a man, standing in the middle of the room.
It was the same man she met at the street market.
Their eyes met. Melody snaps out of her mind, “W-Who are you? What are you doing in my room and how did you get in?”
The man chuckles.
“Is your bodyguard that weak?” he looks at the doorway.
Melody gasp. Her two bodyguards were on the floor, unconscious. She gulps, clutching her bathrobe tightly.
“What do you want here…” she tries to sound brave.
“You know very much what I want. Let me ask first, you must be someone important to Damian, aren’t you?” he questioned.
“N-Not really…” she clears her throat.
“Hmm…” he chuckles, crossing his arms, “I’m sorry but it seems like I can’t believe your words, little girl.”
Little girl!?
Melody frowns. “I’m not a little girl. I’m well adult,”
The man was silent for a moment before laughing. His laughs somehow make Melody annoyed. Despite her panic right now, she still managed to feel annoyed.
“I see. It’s okay. Keep telling yourself that, little girl,” he moves forward towards her.
Melody stumbles backwards. Her body is pressed up on the wall as he stands near in front of her. His gaze went from her head down to her body. There’s a glint of amusement in his eyes.
“But your body looks like an adult,” he murmurs.
Melody hugs herself to prevent her body from exposing to him. “You should leave. It’s not safe for you to be here,”
“I don’t take words from a woman,” he chuckles.
“I’m sure you come here for Mr. Angelo, aren’t you?”
“You are right. I guess you are his mistress or something,” he leans towards her, “He probably doesn’t care about you at all if I did something to you.”
Without letting her react, he grabs her hair earning yelps from her. Melody winced in pain as he dragged her to the couch.
“L-Let me go!!” she yells.
“Aww, are you going to yell for help?” he chuckles.
She is holding on to his wrists, trying to fight, but he’s too strong. Melody’s darted to find something to help her.
“But if I think about it again, you must be something for Damian. That man is not someone who sticks with women,” he said, laced with amusement. “Maybe I can use you in the meantime.”
“I’m not something important for that old man!” she snaps.
“Say anything you want, but you can’t lie to my face,” he firmly speaks.
Melody’s eyes fell on the vase. She gritted her teeth as the man tightened his grip on her hair.
“I’m not lying to you, dickhead!!” she yells and kicks his part. The man let her hair go and clutching on his dick, screaming in pain.
Melody quickly grabs the vase and smashes it on his head.
“Argh!” he fell on the floor.
Without wasting her time, she gets up and about to run. Unfortunately, he managed to grab her ankle, making her fall to the floor. Melody whimpers in pain. She looks behind her, and he is holding onto her ankle.
“Where do you think you are going huh?”
He took off his mask, showing he was grinning. Melody kicked her legs, but this man kept crawling toward her untwas he was on top of her. The blood on his head dripped on her cheeks.
“Finally, I got to hurt someone close to Damian!” he laughs maniacally, “This whole time, I tried to do something, but everything failed.”
He wrapped his hand around her neck, giving a putting on it. His other hand on his bathrobe knots.
“At least I got to hurt something that meant something to him after he humiliated me!!”
The knots on her bathrobe almost loosened. Melody’s eyes widened. The pressure on her neck makes her lack of oxygen. She keeps hitting his shoulder and tries everything to push him away.
The man laughs so hard, “You think your hit can hurt me? Huh!?”
“L-Let… me go…” she stammered weakly.
“I will get what I want!!” he smirks.
Suddenly, a gunshot filled the room. Blood splattered on her face. A bullet through his forehead.
“Hm… you get what you want, Ludwig.”
