A lot of people on the street. The street market was filled with people yelling to promote their food or their stuff. It was chaos but in a good way. Melody was jaw-dropping to see the scene in front of her.
“This is awesome!!” she giggles and bounces on her feet.
Damian sighs. He looks around the place and notices this street market filled with a lot of people. He looks at his undercover guards, gesturing them to keep an eye on their surroundings.
They nod.
“Oh my gosh! That’s look delicious!” Melody is about to walk away, but he pulls her collar in time. “Hey!!”
“Don’t wander around, you little wench,” he hissed. “I don’t want to deal with any lost child here.”
Melody huffs, fixing her dress.
“Make sure you are always near me, got it?” Damian added with strictness in his tone.
“Fine, I will,” she sighs.
They continue to walk around the street market. Melody keeps pulling him here and there, trying every food from the street market. She just enjoying herself. Whatever she points at, one guard will immediately bought it for her.
Since Damian paid everything.
“Come one, taste it!” she keeps lifting the snack to his lips.
“Before I stuff this in your mouth, you better pull it away from me, now,” Damian glares at her.
Melody rolls her eyes, “Geez, have fun just for a moment. It wouldn’t hurt.”
He let out a deep sigh. Melody looks around while munching her food. That’s when her gaze found something. A bracelet section. She squeals and runs towards it.
“This girl would never listen to me,” he sighs and follows her along.
She bought the bracelet, admiring how pretty it was. Then, her gaze fell on the same one as her but a different colour. A black one.
“Can I get this one?” she points at it.
“Yes, ma’am,” the guard nods and talks to the seller.
Damian arches his eyebrows, “You already got one. Why do you need the second one?”
“Just… wanted to,” she shrugs her shoulder.
He just hummed not bothered to ask again. While Damian is standing there, he glances at the corner of his eyes. He could see a man wearing a cap and mask on his face not far from them.
The same man has kept following them since the start. It’s not like Damian didn’t recognise it. A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.
“Sir, do you want me to announce ‘code red’?” his guard whispers.
“No need. I want to play with him. It’s really fun,” Damian let out a low chuckle.
It’s just like a predator playing with its prey. Just to see how far their prey could stay and play with him. The predator just waiting to let their claws out and ripped their head off.
“Mr. Angelo,” a soft voice calling him.
“What?” he looks down at her.
“Is everything okay?” she questioned.
“Everything is fine. Just go pamper yourself there,” Damian rolls his eyes.
“I’m just asking…” Melody mumbles in annoyance.
They continue walking around the street market. Melody kept munching her food, looking around the place.
Then, a guard came to Damian and whispered something. He holds Melody’s shoulder to make her stop walking. Melody looked up at him with confusion, but he didn’t focus on her.
“I see, let’s check for a while,” Damian talks to his guard. He turns to Melody, “You, wait here.”
“Where are you going?” she frowns.
“I got to check… something. Don’t go anywhere and stay with my guard. If I find out that you wander around without them, we will go home straight away, understand?” Damian firmly speaks.
Melody scoffs, “Yes, I understand. Don’t treat me like a little kid,”
“Because you are acting like one,” he said before walking away with his men.
Melody left there with two guards with her. They dressed up in casual clothes since they were in undercovers. She looks around the place as people keep passing by. Laughing, chatting, and hanging around.
She finished her food and went to throw it in the bin. But, when she turns around, she bumps into someone.
“Oh, I’m sorry, sir,” she rubbing her nose. Melody looked up and saw a man with a mask and cap.
She gasped when she realised this guy might not understand her language. Melody squirmed in panic, not knowing what to say.
“Are you okay, miss?” he questioned.
“Y-You speak English?” Melody asks, laced with surprise.
“I do miss,” he chuckles.
“I’m sorry, sir. I didn’t mean to bump into you,” she apologized.
The man stares at her for a moment not saying anything. His actions make Melody frown slightly. His eyes just stare at her. Somehow, those gazes make Melody squirm uncomfortable.
“Are you alone, miss?” he finally speaks.
“No, sir. I’m with my body-friends.” Melody quickly fixes her words, not wanting to reveal she’s with someone important. “Also, I’m waiting for my… husband,” she explains.
The man just hummed. Melody clears her throat, “I got to go. My husband is probably waiting for me.”
Without letting him reply, she quickly walks away. Melody kept walking at a fast pace as she could feel the bad vibe from that guy. She hugged herself, rubbing her arms to soothe her panic.
As she is busy with her thoughts, once again, she bumps into someone. This time, it was Damian. He standing there with his tall and big frame towering over her.
“Didn’t I tell you not to wander around by yourself?”
“I-I just went to throw something that’s all…” she explains.
“Are you okay? You look not,” Damian arches his eyebrows.
“Fine, just fine. It’s just… I met a guy who looked weird. He gives me a bad vibe,” Melody sighs and keeps looking behind her.
“That’s why I told you to stay with my guards,” Damian sighs, “You would never listen to me, do you?”
“Gosh, you are so dramatic,” she mumbles and walks passing him.
Damian just stands there watching her walk away. He looks at her and then looks behind to see the man slowly blend into the crowds. A small smile appeared on his face.
“Looks like he’s targeting Melody, huh?”
“Maybe he plans on something already, sir,” a guard added.
“You are not wrong,” Damian grins.
It almost evening. Melody leans on the seat with a satisfying sigh. She never felt this full in her stomach. She thinks like she tries every food from the street market.
“You look like you almost passed out,” Damian speaks up.
“I am…” she whimpers.
“We will be going to the hotel right now,” he said in a deadpan tone.
“I know. I wanted to rest also,” Melody sighs.
Damien glances at her for a moment before looking at the side mirror, which shows there’s a car following his car.
“A brave prey huh…”
“You say something?” Melody turns to him.
“No. Just go close your eyes there. I will wake you up when we arrive,” he takes out his phone.
“Um… Mr. Angelo,” she timidly calls.
“What?”
“I bought this for you,” she pulled out the black bracelet that was the same type as hers.
Damian looks at it for a moment before deciding to ask, “You bought it? Didn’t you use my money to buy it?”
“No. I bought it with my money,” she smiles proudly.
“When did you have your own?” he frowns.
Melody grins, “That’s because you never pay attention to me. It’s kind of surprised me because you don’t even realize it.”
He rolls his eyes. That’s true. He didn’t pay attention to what she was doing since someone decided to play with him.
“Anyway, why did you buy me that bracelet?” he questioned.
“I feel bad for pushing you to do something I want. So, this is showing that I’m sorry,” Melody wears it on his wrist gently.
Surprisingly, Damian just let her do it. She expects him to snap at her or push her away. It’s not that she wants it. Melody pulls away and smiles brightly to see he wearing the same bracelet as her.
“See!? We’re matching!!” she lifts her wrist, showing off her bracelet.
Damian sighs deeply, “Whatever.”
