Alex’s POV
“Release my clothes, maybe then I can speak!” He said and I stared at him then let go of his clothes, he stumbled back to the wall but he tried not to lose his dignity while doing it.
“You better talk,” I added just to spite him, he looked at me with a thick hatred and for some reasons it kind of made me angry.
“You’re lousy, I wonder how terrible your hotel and investment would be.” He tried at a snappy comeback but his miserable condition didn’t make it seem at all snappy, just more miserable.
“Who is your brother and why were you planning to form an army against him?” I asked him, my hands were folded and I leaned against the wall as I watched him struggle with himself.
“Now you’ll ask. Don Fredo. He’s the Don Fredo, you would know that if your head wasn’t full of cobwebs and you weren’t so busy stuffing your head in my girl’s face rather than making research about other packs,” he said and this time it achieved the sting he wanted it to have.
I was moved by rage when I landed my hands on his nose, he almost fell and I commended his strength as he delivered an impressive right hook.
I groaned and landed him yet another one, the guards moved to intervene and I knew it would be unfair to involve them.
“Stay away!” I ordered and they did, I finally placed Jeremy on the ground and pinned him there.
“Who the hell is Don Fredo and what does he even want?” I asked him and he spat on my face, I slapped him across the face before cleaning it on his shirt.
“He’s a psychopath. He wants power and he will get it, in all the capacity he wants it and now you’ve made your pack a target.” Jeremy said, there was a very high degree of certainty in his tone.
I stood up and watched him remain on the ground, unmoving and unfeeling. “I’ll send you food and later we’d talk,”
“Goodluck.”
I wanted to say something when a guard called out to me.
“Alpha! You have mail!” He announced and I heard Jeremy laugh as I walked out of the room. The guards closed the gate again and as I entered the sun I squinted as the sunlight was overwhelming to me. The dungeon was really fake and lagging in fresh air.
“It arrived with a messenger, he didn’t bother to stay too long, he dropped the letter and left.” He said and I looked at the tree that was in the middle of the pack house, the tree had a lot of my memories.
I didn’t know why I thought of it but I moved towards it, my father had always come there whenever it seemed like there was trouble in the pack.
He would stand with his aide and his hands would be behind his back while his brain made millions of calculations. Maybe if I stood under the tree I would know how to deal with what was going on.
I didn’t know if I should believe Jeremy about what he had to say about his brother but I knew Jeremy wasn’t particularly a good person himself. What do I think of his older brother?
“What do you think of all of these?” I asked the guard and he looked confused that I would ask for his opinion.
“I don’t think you should trust either brothers. Remain allies with both sides and gather opinions, whichever doesn’t add up is the foul one and you’ll sell out the other brother to them.” He said and I was impressed, but it was easier said than done.
I wanted to call Jason and probably ask about what he thought but on second thoughts I decided against it, he hadn’t called me since our fall out and even then he had been at fault.
“Thank you August,” I said to him and he handed me the letter, bowed and left.
I looked at the Royal sealing, it was neat and the outer decor signified ambience and professionalism.
I looked at it over and over again then opened it, my opinions were already doing things.
Jason’s PoV
I came out from an all night consultation and was tired and weary, it was me overworking myself nothing much to see.
I went over to the cafe to get coffee. The nurses called greetings as I passed and I waved, they noticed I didn’t particularly enjoy socializing and then they had gone and made it their norm to send out greetings.
I made a sharp turn and collided with hot liquid.
“Shit!” I growled when I saw that my shirt was stained and the coffee was scalding hot.
“Oh. You look where you’re going!” A feminine voice said under her breath and I noticed that she was the one that had been holding the glass, it had also spilled on her.
“How was that even my fault? You’re the one with four eyes, maybe your glasses need a check up.” I basically growled at her and she looked like she was going to punch me in the eyes.
She subconsciously adjusted her glasses. “Who the hell are you? I guess it’s your attitude that landed you in the hospital in the first place, hope you don’t fall under my supervision.” She snapped and was offloading her bag on a waiting seat just close to where we had jammed.
“I should be asking you that!” I said and was grateful I had worn a tee shirt under my shirt.
A nurse passed again and I noticed as she brightened when she saw the bespectacled woman.
“Doctor Free! You’re back!” She squealed and hugged her. I watched in amusement. She was a doctor? This rude person was a medical personnel?
“Yes I am, I sort of bumped into a mongrel but I’m okay,” she said and the nurse’s eyes came to me, she certainly wasn’t on the Doctors side because her eyes flitted over to me, eyeing me invitingly.
“You must have met Dr Wolfe, he’s new here.” The nurse took the liberty of introducing us.
I held my shirt across my hand and looked at her with condescension.
“Yes. He is the mongrel,” she responded, looking directly at me and walked past. I hated her immediately, I knew she did too and the nurse could also see that.
“She’s usually nice,” the nurse, I forgot her name said and I shrugged , i wouldn’t let the four eyed pinch ruin my day.
