Today would be the last day we will spend on the beach. We were going cruising on the ocean and have merry, just as Mr. Kent put it.
It was afternoon and the perfect time to Cruise on a ship as I and Leticia have been busy watching movies and eating early in the morning till we were summoned out.
I saw the medium sized Cruise ship which was capable of accommodating we the students and I thought it wasn’t a bad idea if I went along since it was a ship.
“So, you gonna join us?” Leticia asked as we stood under the coconut tree.
“Yeah,” I laughed since she knew I was gonna think of a way of escaping any thing that has to do with water.
“Good! Thought you would plan on running,” She chuckled as she placed her sun shades on her face, we were both putting on shorts with a round neck top and palms.
My hair was packed in a ponytail as I gazed at the ocean.
“There’s a ship and that would be safe,” I smiled pointing towards the Cruise ship.
“Yeah, that’s true,” She smiled.
We saw the workers Carry food into the ocean and drinks too.
“We gonna merry, just as Mr. Kent said,” Leticia said happily while I smiled.
“This excursion was fun, wasn’t it?” Leticia asked grinning at me while I just stared vacuous at her.
Interesting?
It was more than a hell for me with Jenny and her crew annoying gestures and troubles towards me and that Of Lucas too especially when he opened up to me yesterday and when he asked for forgiveness yester night.
I almost thought I lost it, I’ve been waiting for that moment when he would come to his senses and apologize to me for all what he had done to me but I cried silently to myself on the bed, while Leticia slept soundly. I wasn’t angry at him but just hurt, didn’t even know when I drifted off to sleep.
“Yeah sure, it was fun,” I said smiling thinly at her.
“I’ve got lot to tell Beatrice,” She grinned like a little child while I couldn’t help but just roll my eye at her.
The stentorian sound from the megaphone caught our attention, as everyone started gathering together.
Leticia and I grabbed our little bag off from the sands and walked to where the rest was.
Some girls were in Bikini, while others wore bum shorts and bra top.
It was only me and Leticia that seem out of the lead in our dressing and I don’t fucking what people say anymore.
I need to be matured about, thank goodness we have just few months left to graduate and after that, I will live a peaceful life and get admitted to the university.
I really can’t wait for that moment.
“Is everyone here?” Mr. Kent asked through the megaphone but I almost got deaf from the blaring sound.
Everyone echoed a ‘Yes’ as we were told to start boarding the cruise ship as everyone started going to the port.
I didn’t see Lucas, and I don’t fucking care if he came along.
Everyone was pushing their way through to get into the ship, I almost tripped on the wooden dock when Leticia gripped my hands.
“Out of the way bitch!” We heard someone shout furiously as we turned to look at who it was when we found it was the aggressive Jenny and her puppets.
Something seems off with her as her eyes bored hatred and malevolence for me, it was so raw even with the way she was staring at me like she wanted to snap my head off my neck.
I staggered once more when she brushed me off her way aggressively while her puppets sneered at me as they marched behind her.
“Must you three behave like a jerk!” Leticia roared while her arm and batted my eyelashes for her to stop while I smiled convincingly at her.
“It’s okay,” I smiled warmly.
“Be careful!” She smiled.
“Yeah,” I nodded as we got on the ship.
“Woah! Let the party begin!” A girl screamed loudly while everyone cheered loudly at her.
‘Bunch of jerks…’ I snickered in my mind.
I turned around and my breath almost caught up with me as my eyes landed on that hot greek god, who’s no one but Lucas.
He was with Ben and some other jocks in their gangs.
He was wearing flowered shorts and vintage shirt.
I turned around almost suffocating as I hurried into the hull, I could hear footsteps on the deck as I turned to see who it was.
It was Leticia as she gave me a worried look.
“Are you sure you okay?” She asked worriedly coming closer to me while I stared into her grey eyes.
“Ye-Yeah sure, don’t mind me , just getting nervous a bit,” I chuckled placing my palms on my forehead as I smiled trying to hide the anxiety in me.
“You know you can tell me what’s wrong with you, we’re friends,” Leticia said with a bored look not buying my lie.
I sighed and folded my arms on my stomach.
“I’m fine, sincerely,” I said, I just couldn’t bring myself to tell her what was happening with me, our friendship hasn’t reached that stage yet, like Beatrice’s own.
My phone beeped in my pocket as I brought it out to check the caller ID, it was Beatrice, she was video calling.
A slight smile played on my lips as I glanced at Leticia who was still staring at me.
“It’s Beatrice,” I smiled at Leticia and she grinned moving closer to me.
“Pick, let’s talk with her,” She said nudging her elbow at my side.
I accepted the call and Beatrice’s cute face popped on the screen.
“My baby!” She squealed while I giggled.
“Woah! Are you in a ship?” She asked while I nodded.
“Leticia is here,” Leticia said as she tried to let her face show in the screen.
“Hey, red hair! Hope you’re watching my baby and guess she’s safe?” Beatrice said in a goofy tone while I rolled my eyes.
“Yes, silly grey eyes,” Leticia laughed as she collected my phone from me.
I could hear the loud chattering of the students from the Lido deck and music also playing.
“Camilla, are you guys having a party or what?” Beatrice asked curiously and I could see the desperate looks in her eyes wishing she was here with us.
“Something like that,” I answered moving closer to Leticia who held the phone up so both of our face could appear.
“Mr. Kent said we gonna merry today,” Leticia laughed while Jenny pouted.
“You guys are having so much fun while we Business students are bored to death and sticking our heads learning transaction and maths,” She groaned as we saw her closing her locker with annoyance as she rested on it pouting.
I and Leticia couldn’t help but laugh while she glared at us.
“Sorry poo!” Leticia cooed sticking out her tongue.
“Hey!” Beatrice snapped bringing the phone closer to her face.
“You’re lucky we’re on video call or else I would have dragged your hair,” She tsk.
“Mouth,” Leticia snorted while I tried to muffle my laughter or else I would be the one to bear the punishment.
“We shall see,” Beatrice squinted her eyes like an old lady.
“Guys, wanna check what they’re doing out there,” I notified.
“Okay, baby girl! I still got things to say with this red-haired witch,” She smiled while I walked out of the hull.
I noticed the ship as started moving for a while as I stared at the ocean.
Leticia and I didn’t even notice since we were so engrossed talking with Beatrice.
“Wow!” I muttered watching the way the ship cause white foams on the ocean.
I walked closer to where the cheers and blaring music was coming from.
I got to the Lido deck and saw my mates laughing and grooving happily.
I choked lightly at the smell of different drinks filled the air.
Everyone seems to be in their own world as they dance ate and drank, girls rocking with the boys.
‘Gross!’ I thought as I thought of going to somewhere a bit cool.
I turned back and went to the aft part of the ship, it was much quiet there as I rested my hands on the iron handle of the ship, as I leaned on it and watched how the ship showed white waves on the ocean as it moved with speed.
My nose was filled with salty and irritating smell from the beach, I felt like vomiting.
My eyes trundled as I stared into the ocean, it was as if I wanted to fall into the water, so instead I averted my gaze to the sky and smiled.
“Enjoying the moment, huh?” A voice startled me as I turned around and saw Jenny staring murderously at me as a devilish smirk curled up on her lips.
I held the iron handles tightly as I felt nervous staring at her. She was wearing a black swimming trunk with a brown beach hat on her head.
“Wh-What are you doing here?” I asked as my heart beat hard against my chest for no reason, something was really off with her.
“To have some air like you,” She smirked taking steps closer to me.
I didn’t say anything while I just gaze into her face and scrutinized my gaze at her steps.
“What have you done to Lucas?” She growled with rage while I stared at her puzzled.
“I didn’t do anything to him,” I cracked.
“Oh! I see,” She laughed sarcastically while I gazed at her.
Why am I even talking to her in the first place?
“I told you to leave my boyfriend alone, I warned you but you didn’t heed,” She said venomously moving closer to me as her eyes were dark with pure hatred.
“He thinks of you almost every fucking minute, you stole his heart!” She screamed loudly in my face as she breathed deeply herself making me jerk in shock.
What the hell is she saying?
“Well, I’m here to finish this myself, I’ve warned you long before but since you didn’t want to take it the easy way, we’ll go the harder way,” She barked grabbing my top aggressively while I tried to free myself with my both hands as she clutched tighter on me.
“Wh-What are you doing?” I choked in fear trying to free myself.
“I don’t like Lucas, I never did,” I cracked while she glared viciously.
“That’s not true, I think the waters are ready to welcome you, Nerd!” She smirked and before I could process what she was about to do she pushed me off with force making me scream with all my might.
The cold water consumed me as I tried to balance myself in the water.
“See, you in heaven, bitch!” She yelled victoriously as I began choking in the water.
“Somebody help!” I tried to scream but the water gushed into my mouth as I swallowed it terribly.
It was so fucking salty…
I battled with the water as oxygen began depleting from me, I tried to breathe but that made the water come in freely into my nose as I felt a painful sensation in my head.
“Helpppp!!” I cried again as I began sinking, but there was no how anyone could hear me.
The ship was moving fast, I think…
Maybe this was my fate at last.
I began drowning as I became light-headed, I felt my body become numb while the water gushed into my mouth and nose freely, I should have learn how to swim when I had the chance to but I was too afraid.
Now, maybe I shouldn’t be afraid of dying…
My head started clouding and embracing darkness while I expected the monsters of the ocean to feed on me.
“Camilla!!!!” I thought I heard someone scream afar but darkness consumed me as I sank further into the depth of the sea.
