Book:His Burning Obsession Published:2024-8-26

It was another stressful day in the week and the hallway seemed crowded than it usually should be.
I saw some student gathering up and shouting, some bringing out their phone taking pictures.
I got curious, well something was telling me to mind my business but I disobeyed.
I moved closer to the gathered teenagers as they kept laughing and shouting.
I gasped as I saw a timid girl sobbing on the floor, I think she’s from the junior class, well , I was a year senior for her.
Then there stood the three crazy rascals, torturing and oppressing the poor girl.
It was Jenny and her maniacs…
Don’t they have shame other than oppressing and bullying their inferior ones.
“So are you telling me you weren’t trying to steal my precious diamond bracelet?” Jenny asked angrily as she fisted the girl’s hair in her hands.
That hurt as hell…
“I swear to God! I didn’t steal your bracelet!” The girl sobbed while her nose became red.
“Then why was it in your hands then?” Bella asked with a weird smirk on her face.
“Such a bad liar and a bad thief too, I think you should work more on your skills,” Susan chuckled standing akimbo.
“Maybe she should watch money heist, so she will learn more of the techniques on how to steal,” Bella laughed giving Susan a high-five as the crowded teens burst into a surging wave of laughter.
I stood there motionlessly as I gazed at how they tortured the young girl, even though she stole the bracelet, they should have warned her privately instead of assaulting and embarrassing her to this extent publicly.
I could only feel how traumatized the young girl is, cause I’m a victim too.
“I swear on my head, I didn’t steal your bracelet, it fell off your hand when you and these two seniors came out of the restroom, I should have given it to you, but I was too scared of approaching you thinking you might assault me of being a pilferer, so I decided to take it to your locker,” The blonde girl explained crying, pleading for mercy from the aggressive Jenny pulling her head out her skull.
A second thought told me that the girl was telling the truth, the poor girl might have gotten so scared of these three lunatics, well who doesn’t know them in school. The three bad girls of the school.
If she actually wanted steal the damn bracelet, she wouldn’t have thought of approaching her locker in the first place.
“Shut your freaking mouth, wench!” Jenny growled her eyes coming out of its socket.
She has gotten her bracelet, then why is she so worked up about it, so everyone should know she’s the most dominant bitch in the school.
“Please let me go, you have your bracelet, don’t hurt me!” The blonde girl begged as she forced on her knees while Jenny wouldn’t let go of hair.
*Ppphhaaattt*
Jenny slapped the young girl so hard across the face that she fell flat on the floor, her loud wails echoed in my ears petrifying my eardrums.
I gasped in shock feeling so sad for the little girl.
I glanced around wondering why any teacher hasn’t come check what was going on.
“Shut up bitch! You low-class brat,” Jenny fumed as she flipped her long hair to the back proudly.
“You know there are some poor wretched fellows who aren’t supposed to be admitted in this school, they just spoil our reputation,” Susan faked a sad face before she laughed evilly.
“And we will teach them a lesson, if they mess our way,” Jenny fired about to strike the helpless girl on the floor, how could she be such a cold heartless devil that doesn’t feel any emotions for the next being.
Without thinking I passed through the crowded students and pushed Jenny away from furthering hurting the girl.
Everyone, ‘Ooohed’…
“What the hell is wrong with you? Didn’t you hear all her explanation!” I shouted angrily as Jenny stared at me in shock at first before it got replaced with a scowl when she realized it was me.
“Woah! Look who we have here?” Bella smirked with her hands crossed as she moved closer to me.
“Well what do you expect? A nerd coming out to save her fellow nerd, it just makes sense the more,” Susan rolled her eyes disgustedly at me while everyone started laughing taking shots on their phone before my gaze caught the smashed eyeglasses of the girl.
“The savior nerd rescued her fellow nerd from humiliation,” A girl chuckled from the crowded area.
“Best meme of the year,” A guy vociferated making everyone laugh.
This was just stupid and insane.
I stared at the girl on the floor crying helplessly, she looked so broken that my heart shattered into pieces.
I felt angry the more and glared at Jenny who smirked at me.
“I was wondering who gave the popular bullied nerd some guts to interrupt in what is not her business,” Jenny said loudly as she walked pacing around while I glared menacingly at her fishy steps.
“She’s so stupid–”
“And dumb!” Susan completed the statement for Belle with an egotistic look.
“Don’t you think we should also teach our popular nerdy a lesson for not minding her business?” Jenny asked the crowd with an arrogant smirk on her face.
My heart was racing fast as she walked faster to me.
I need to be bold at least for once.
“Le-let her go!” I stuttered in a shaky voice as I moved back.
“Well, we will let her go while you substitute in for her punishment,” Jenny smirked and I stared dumbly at her.
Bella walked over to the crying girl on the floor and fisted her hair with her hands as she made the girl face her.
“You should be grateful to savior nerdy for saving your ass,” Bella smirked.
The girl glanced nervously at me in a shaky state and I nodded for her to go.
“You don’t deserve it!” She cried.
“Just go!” I said staring deep into the girl’s blue eyes, at least she would be safe from these three delightful torturers.
She nodded still crying and ran away, then I brought my gaze to Jenny’s taunting figure.
I yelped loudly when I felt two hands gripped my shoulders roughly and pushed me down to my knees as I winced hurtfully.
I glanced back to see two weird looking girls pinning me down as I tried to struggle away from them.
Darn! That hurts as hell…
I should have listened to my instinct and minded my business in the first place, now I get to suffer for it.
I glared at the three Lunatics in front of me as they smirked back in delight.
How I wished Beatrice was here, she called me this morning that she would be late to school, that she had some things to do with her dad, so I had to go school early myself.
“Let me go!” I said furiously trying to free myself from the hurtful grip the two unknown girls were giving me.
“Not until we teach you a lesson,” Jenny cooed, while she made a contact with Bella who gave a devilish smile in return to me.
“Sorry dear Nerdy, this will teach you a lesson to always mind your business,” Susan smirked and my eyes widened when Bella brought out a bottle from her bag.
Jenny smirked and opened it when I saw steamy gas coming out of the bottle.
“Isn’t that too hot, dear Jenny?” Susan pouted before giving me a sorry look.
“Wh-What are you doing?” I stammered as my heart hammered hard wondering what was in that bottle.
“To burn your hands so you’ll always remember to mind your business each time you see the scars left on your hands,” Jenny said in a sweet-disgusting voice.
My feet became cold and I was so helpless, the babbling noise seems to have lessens in my ears as Jenny walked forward to me.
Oh God! What a devil is this girl…
“Her hands!” Jenny ordered the girls gripping my shoulders tightly as they twisted my hands to the front.
“Leave me alone, you bastard!” I cried as panic hit through me.
“You’ll know how of a bastard I am today,” Jenny fumed as a flash of hate sparked in her eyes.
I couldn’t even bear the imaginations of having an hideous scar on my smooth hands.
I tried to wriggle free from the two girls holding me until Jenny was in my front and was about to slant the bottle on her hands to pour whatever God knows what content was in it on my hand.
I closed my eyes shut waiting for the burning pains but felt nothing.
Then a familiar voice made me open my eyes as I felt relieved.
“Jenny! What the hell are you doing?” I heard a deep angry voice.
I glanced up and my breath hitched seeing Lucas standing in front of me.
He looked so furious that I hadn’t realized that the two girls holding me were gone already.
“No-Nothing! Just wanted to teach that punk a lesson,” she stuttered scarily moving back.
“What did I say about not hurting what is Mine!” He dripped icy as he took steps closer to her.
I stood up and watched what he was about to do as my heart beat began to pace slowly…
“Sh-She’s not–”
“And what were you about to do with that stuff in your hands?” Lucas asked cutting her words off, as he scanned the bottle in her hands.
“No-Nothing!” She said shakily as the bottle dropped from her hands, it was a hot coffee.
Holy crap! I would have gotten myself burnt if not for Lucas who saved my ass…
Lucas gaze lingered on the spilled steamy coffee for a while as Jenny shook terribly.
“Were you about to pour that on her?” Lucas asked snapping his gaze to her as his jaw clenched so hard as his hands got fisted.
I saw every part of him trying to restrain himself from hitting her, if he were to be a guy he would have beaten him blue black.
“No baby, how can I ever do such a thing?” She asked trying to sound innocent as her crew were no where to be found.
Everyone kept silent watching what was about to happen.
“Be lucky Jenny for being a girl! Next time there won’t be any mercy,” He warned dangerously before turning around.
His gaze lingered on mine as we both stare into each other eyes. He covered the distance between us and gripped my wrist drawing me away from everyone.
I glanced back and caught Jenny’s murderous look glaring at me.
Lucas drew me to a secluded part of the hallway and finally stopped.
I yanked my hands away from him and glared at him.
“What happened there?” He asked his gaze not leaving me.
“Ask your demonic girlfriend!” I fired moving away from him.
“She’s not my girlfriend!” He seethed.
‘Then why were you back with her yesterday?’ I asked myself inwardly.
He gazed at me for a moment before giving a weary looked.
He looked unhappy and sad with dark circles below his eyes, well, I don’t care what is wrong with him.
I hate him and that’s final.
If he’s expecting a thank you, that will probably be in his dreams.
He was the cause for everyone to be using me as a rack sack because of his bullies and hates for me.
Without thinking, I walked pass him but he gripped my upper arm tightly and shoved me into the wall.
“Get away from me!” I fisted into his chest as he trapped me in between the wall.
His lovely cologne which I lived to hate invaded my nostrils almost choking my lungs.
He brought his hands to my face and tugged a few strands of loose hair behind my ear.
My breath hitched at his grazing touch as I struggled to get away from him.
His gaze snapped to my eyes and I swallowed the lump blocking my throat as I stared into his dull eyes.
“Why do you have to look so much like her!” He whispered.
“Who?” I blurted out.
“Lola!” He murmured with an hurtful expression and slammed his lips on mine taking me by surprise.
My lips parted unknowingly for him as he rasped my teeth roughly with his tongue while he snaked his arm around my waist drawing me to himself.
I gasped for air as he suckled on my lower lips as I moaned desperately into his mouth.
I slowly wrapped my hands around his neck forgetting how much I hated him.
He broke the kiss after dancing with my tongue effortlessly while I tasted his saliva in my mouth.
I breathed deeply for air as he brushed his silky hair that covered part of his face to the back with his hand with a sigh.
I stared at him, still wondering what he meant that I looked like Lola or whatever name he mentioned…
