Angel POV.
“Girl, I think you might be William’s favourite as well,” Logan says walking toward me with a shake of his head.
“I’m not,” I say blushing.
“You are, but you don’t know it yet,” Logan says guiding me back toward his office, he walked inside and took some paperwork off his desk, he then walked out of his office guiding the way, next to his office was another room, it held three desks instead of one, and one of them was meant for me, I guess it’s meant for me.
He placed the papers on the empty desk and told me to take a seat, I did as I was asked and started to look at the papers but I didn’t know what to do, or what my job was exactly. I looked at the papers but they were all too messed up and I didn’t know what they meant, even when I tried I was still looking at it all confused.
“I know you’re going to hate me for this, but I need you to organize all of these for me, some contracts are all signed but they need to be placed together along with the files of people they are related to,” he says.
“Contracts?” I ask him looking at which one of these papers is the contract and which one is not.
“I need you to organize things for me, for now, just put things under one big file, in one big pile, let me show you,” he says, picking a couple of papers, showing me the titles and where the names are.
“See this is the contract, application and other note papers, place them all under one pile, I need the completed contracts in one pile, and I need the names. I also need the ones that aren’t completed yet and then add them to a list of their own,” he explains, the amount of papers he gave me, they’d take me around a couple hours, maybe.
“I also need everything to be placed in alphabet order, I’ll bring you the rest,” Logan says before leaving the office, he got me triple the amount of paper he had previously placed on my desk, I felt scared and worried, now these are going to take me forever.
“I’ll start working on these,” I say looking at all the papers with worry.
“I need these done by the end of tomorrow, I need my lists,” he says leaving me alone, I looked at all the papers not sure where to start, but I guessed the first one is where I’ll be starting.
I picked the first paper and saw it was an application, I had to note the name so I could place it at the same time as the rest, but I was very curious about what I was working with, so I started to read a bit about the application.
Some vampire called Alec is requesting to find his mate, the request also includes some more details about what he wants in that mate so nothing that tells me what code blue was. I placed that paper in one pile and started to look at all the applications placing them in one pile to make my life easier.
The next papers I started with were the contracts, these ones had a couple of names one of the same vampires who did the initial application and another name of the person who I guess was the humans who signed along with them.
Some contracts were long, others were short, and they all started as this, both parties are of consenting age, a vampire or vampires along with human or humans, the humans are aware and accepting of the lifestyle they are signing up for, there is no going back from this contract unless abuse could be proved. Home visits have been conducted and the house is declared to be safe for the human, further turning into a vampire is discussed and agreed upon. So they could change humans into vampires? That was a big surprise for me, I didn’t know that, well I didn’t know anything until now until I found out a bit more now.
I finished placing everything into their own pile in a couple of hours, the amount of paper he gave me was no joke, I was still alone in the room, and I was happy about it, I didn’t want people to see me struggling getting papers all set into their category, I have only pulled them into categories, I still have to get the names matched up with each other, I groaned with frustration, but kept going, deciding to go with alphabet order next.
“Hey, Angelina, ready for lunch,” Logan says, I give him a glare, one hell of a glare, if looks could kill my glare would have him drop dead in a matter of seconds, vampire or not, I’m ready to kill him now.
“What did you call me?” I ask him between gritted teeth, he should be careful what he says now because there’s a chance I would kill him.
“Angelina?” he says questioning now instead of just calling me so.
“My name isn’t Angelina, my name is Angel,” I corrected him in a firm voice, one that made the vampire worried and scared of me.
“Angel, of course, is that a short to something?” he asks me.
“No, it’s just Angel, not short to anything,” I warn him again, using the same cold voice again.
“You got a deal Angel, nothing more than Angel,” he says with a smile trying to get me to drop my attitude, but I’ll never drop it, especially when it comes to my name.
“Thank you, I’m still working on these,” I say pointing to the papers, I’m still working on them.
“I’m here to take you for lunch, it’s part of my job to make sure you eat,” he says, looking at the piles I had.
“You have a system up or something?” he asks me looking at my piles.
“Yeah, I got everything divided into piles, next I’m gonna start putting them according to letters and it’ll be easier to just join the names,” I explain the logic behind the insanity.
“That’s a good system, come on let’s eat and then you can finish this up,” he says leading the way to go and eat.
We left the floor we were on and went down, he led the way next to a big cafeteria, it had food served in buffet style, and everything looked delicious, one thing the vampires knew how to do well was make food. He got his plate and handed me one, we started to put food on our plates and moved along the line when we were done, he led the way toward a big table, and we all took a seat, I saw that Nala was there, and I took a seat right next to her, I feel safe next to her.
“Hey, how’s your day going? Did they give you a job with numbers?” I ask her.
“No, my job isn’t with numbers thank god,” she says with a sigh, making me smile happily for her.
“That’s good,” I say taking a bite of my food, it was really good food, and I enjoyed it.
“What about you? What’s your job?” she asks me.
“My job is as a personal assistant, and I’m doing a lot of paperwork organisation,” I answer her.
“That’s good,” Nala says and we both go back to our food just enjoying the taste of it.
“Can I sit here? I don’t like the green table,” a guy says coming toward us, he looks shy and looks down at his feet instead of us, he looks harmless.
“The green table?” Nala says and he points to another table that looked and sounded too loud and annoying.
“I don’t see why not,” I say when Nala nods, he takes a seat next to me, he looks scared, the poor thing.
“Are you okay?” I ask him.
“They are loud and scary,” he says shivering.
“It’s okay you can sit here, what’s your name?” Nala asks him.
“I’m Ethan, I’m green, whatever that means,” he says.
“I’m Nala,” she says introducing herself before she points to me, “That’s Angel,” she says.
“Nice meeting you, thank you for letting me sit here,” he says in relief.
“You’re welcome,” I say and get back to eating, after we finished our food, we all put our plates away and got ready to get back to work, I noticed that we weren’t the only ones in here, there were other colours around here, black and red as well.
We got in the same elevator as Logan and some other people, they went back to their work and I did the same, going to my floor, and back to my papers.
“You can have a nap if you want, and get back to work later,” Logan suggests.
“No, I’m fine,” I assure him.
“Nap is part of work here,” he says.
“But I got a lot of work, and I’m not tired,” I assure him and walk toward my office, this time I wasn’t alone, two people were sitting along with me, and they only gave me nods as they kept on working and I did the same, I noticed one of them had green bracelet and the other one was black.
