Angel POV.
“Goodbye jerk, goodbye Angel good luck working for him,” Thalia says before waving goodbye, she left the office leaving me behind with the vampire.
“Let’s start with the basics, I need your phone,” he says, I looked at him confused but then handed it over, he clicked some things into the phone before giving it back.
“My number is there, along with Thalia’s number, I signed you in into our group chat as well, in case I need you, you’re my personal assistant, I was told that you did this work before,” he says looking at me.
“I did, I worked as a personal assistant, I mostly took notes and did coffee runs,” I answer him, that was my job mostly.
“Angel,” he says in a firm voice, his smile dropping as his eyes locked on me.
“Yes, Sir Logan?” I say, feeling scared, am I getting kicked out of my job? Did I do something wrong already? I haven’t done anything yet, I have hardly been here a couple of minutes, not more than that.
“I need a serious assistant and I need help, real help around here, now be honest with me, be completely honest, no lying, they won’t give this job right away to anyone, you know someone up there, I’m not saying anything, but I want to know, what’s your story, full-on, just tell me,” he says, my full story, how I ended up here, so he doesn’t know, and if I don’t tell him he won’t know, right?
“Uhhh…” I say still thinking, I couldn’t make up my mind yet, do I tell him about Dylan and William? Or do I hide that? Pretend that I know nothing and maybe he won’t know anything, unless if he knows Dylan or William, then he’d tell them all about my kidnapping adventure.
“Angel, lying to me doesn’t work, I’ll know the truth, I’ll know what’s going on, so go ahead and tell me the truth,” he says encouraging me to tell him the truth, I didn’t even know if what happened to me was related to this.
“I don’t know if it’s even related,” I confess, I had no idea if it had anything to do with that, maybe it’s just my luck.
“Try me, it’ll be a good story to hear,” Logan says again.
“It’s a long story, but what happened is, I was caught by the vampires when I decided to not listen to the TV anymore, and I went on the street looking for supplies, the vampire who was in charge of me was Dylan, and I think, maybe me and Dylan became friends? I also met William, like really met him, and I think he likes me, and I don’t know maybe that’s why,” I say with a shrug.
“That does make sense, Dylan and William, you got the job, do you know how to do paperwork? Do you know how to read Angel?” he asks me and I felt like a stupid girl, I didn’t mean to have any kind of relationship.
“I know how to read and write if you want me to just get another job, just send me somewhere else, I can talk to Evelyn about it, I didn’t pick any of this, and I don’t want to be special,” I say feeling the urge to cry, I didn’t mean any of this, I could just get a normal job like everyone else.
“Hey, hey, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you cry,” Logan says coming from behind the desk toward me, he held me, hugged me, holding me tight, as I cried.
The tears wouldn’t stop, I kept on crying, I felt shitty, I shouldn’t have taken the job, I should have stayed at home, I should have told Evelyn I don’t want to work, and then I’d stay home instead of this.
“I’m sorry Angel, I didn’t mean to be mean to you, how about we start this again?” he suggests and I nod, not like I could do anything else.
“Now, you want to start or should I?” he says, I tried to wipe my tears away, and pointed to him, so he could start.
“Hello, my name is Logan, I’m head of this department,” he says offering me a hand this time, I shook hands with him.
“My name is Angel,” I answer him.
“Nice meeting you Angel, I’m going to be your boss, you’re going to be my personal assistant, I’m going to teach you everything,” he assured me, and I smiled at him.
“I know a bit about being an assistant, I worked like that for a couple of years,” I say again.
“That’s better than nothing, come on, let’s show you the department,” he says starting to walk around.
“What department is this?” I asked him, Thalia didn’t give me much information when I got here, she just said it was the blue code.
“Code Blue department,” he answers me, which doesn’t make any kind of sense, what does the code mean?
“I don’t know if they told you or not, but no one told me what code blue is,” I explain to him that I’m blind in here.
“I know you don’t know what the code stands for yet, but you’ll find out soon enough,” he says.
“Why not tell me now?” I ask him.
“It’s William’s orders, maybe you can call him and ask him,” he suggests.
“I don’t have William’s number, other than one time I haven’t seen him ever since,” I confess.
“You don’t have his numbers but he has yours, he’ll be calling you before the day ends,” Logan says but I doubt he’d do it.
“I don’t think so,” I say, but he shrugs and just walks around showing me the whole department.
“I’m the one in charge of everything, sadly that means most paperwork has to pass by me,” he groans and shows me the kitchen, the break room, and the nap room, they really had a room we could nap in.
“So what’s my job?” I ask him, just help him out with the paperwork, I can do that.
“Your job is to help me, I’ll explain things as we go,” he says.
“How about you explain what code blue is,” I say batting my eyes at him, trying to get him to say yes for once, to understand what this place is about, maybe if I read a bit through the papers I could come to understand what it means.
“How about you say hello to your old friend,” Logan says with a knowing smile, I looked up and saw both Dylan and William walking toward us.
“My Angel,” Dylan says giving me a tight hug while William went to have a private chat with Logan, maybe he’s gonna tell him to get me out of here, give me another job or something.
“Hi,” I say hugging Dylan back, I thought he didn’t want to talk to me anymore, that he didn’t care anymore.
“What’s the pouty face for? Is Logan not treating you well,” he asks me.
“He’s nice,” I say, I didn’t mean to cry, but I felt a lot of relief now in Dylan’s hand.
“That’s good, I knew he’d be a good boss, that’s why I asked to be put with him,” Dylan says, so, after all, he was the one behind this work assignment.
“Oh, okay, I don’t know if I’ll do a good job though,” I say blushing, what if I was a bad assistant?
“Girl, I know you’re gonna do a great job,” he says way too sure of what he’s talking about.
“Okay,” I say.
“Let me give you my number, so when needed you can call me, who’s in charge of you at home?” he asks me.
“Evelyn,” I answer him, handing him my phone so he could put his number on as well.
“She’s nice, I’ll give you William’s number as well,” he says giving me all the important people’s numbers.
“Dylan,” I say deciding to ask him the question now.
“Yes?” he says.
“Do you know what the codes stand for?” I ask him.
“Of course, I helped put them in place,” he answered me, so there’s a logic behind this madness.
“So you know why I’m under this code?” I ask him, and he nods.
“Are you going to tell me?” I ask.
“Well you’re code blue, since you’re one of the nicer gentler humans, you need to be treated well, you need gentle touch,” he explains making me blush.
“But what does the blue code stand for?” I ask him.
“It’s a special kind of lifestyle, you need someone who’d be gentle and careful with you, but firm at the same time, you’re special, that’s it,” Dylan says, that was extremely sweet, I turned bloody red, but I liked it.
“Okay, I think I get it,” I say happily, it was better than nothing for now.
“Now go start your first day of work, make sure to message me how it went by the end of the night,” he says.
“Okay, I’ll do that,” I say, saying goodbye to him and William, joining Logan again to go start my work.
