Angel POV.
We’re back at the same place again, it’s been a long drive and I was awake the whole time, I couldn’t sleep, I was scared and worried at the same time, I kept looking at Dylan and he just smiled, every time I looked at him he’d just smile like he knew what was going on, not like, he knew for sure what has happened with me the whole drive.
“Are you excited?” he asked me next, I looked at him and I wasn’t sure what my face was going like or looking like, I had a million emotions on my face now, I know I was worried and, scared but excited at the same time, I was happy about this but I’m also terrified of what code blue means, I think in the hospitals it means heart attack or something.
“Worried, scared, but excited,” I say honestly to Dylan who just nods knowingly, how would the other humans react, would they rebel, but if they all did, what would the vampire do? Would we be over? Would we be done?
“Dylan,” I call out after that, trying to get his attention.
“Yes, sweetie?” he answered me.
“Did the vampires take over the whole world? Like the whole, whole world, everywhere?” I ask him, trying to get some information out of him.
“Yeah, we are everywhere, you know everywhere that has come back to life after the war, you know some parts of the world haven’t been rehabilitated,” Dylan answered me.
“And you took over everywhere?” I ask him and he turns to me with a raised brow.
“You know everywhere that has been rehabilitated?” I say repeating his words after him, making him chuckle.
“Yes, we did everywhere,” Dylan assures me, and I nod, so they are.
“Does the human know?” I asked him, we’re there now, we got inside and he parked but neither of us decided to go down yet.
“William has just told them,” Dylan answered me.
“When did he come here?” I asked him, we left the mall at the same time as far as I knew.
“He’s very fast, and I had to slow down since I have you in the car,” Dylan answered me and I nodded.
“Do you think they took it well?” I ask him and he just shrugs, so he doesn’t know?
“Should we maybe not go in?” I ask him worried.
“It’s fine, come on, let’s go find your room,” he says, guiding the way into the building.
“What room? I’m staying in here? Can I shower first?” I asked him, I needed a hot shower, I was desperate for one.
“Of course, you’re getting a room of your own, and I wish I could say you got a private bathroom, but this place isn’t a permanent one, you got to share, but I’m sure you get to go right in, everyone else must be busy by now,” Dylan assures me.
“We’re going to leave this place?” I ask him.
“Of course, everyone is going back home, well new home assignment, we’ll work on things,” Dylan says.
“Do you even know what you’re gonna do after all of this?” I ask him, do they know where to send us or what life we’re gonna have, most of the humans are dead now, there weren’t many of us, to begin with.
“William has the full plan, I’m more of the power,” Dylan answered me.
“There isn’t many human left, how many vampires is there left?” I ask him.
“Not many of us die or died by the rebel, I think the total we lost in the revolution of yours, was four,” he answered me, so they didn’t lose many, just us.
“And how many are there?” I asked him, I never knew how many there were to begin with.
“Double the amount of the humans,” he answers.
“The original amount? Or what’s left?” I ask him curiously.
“That’s way too many questions Angel, drop it,” he said in a cold voice, I shut up then, feeling hurt by his words.
“Let’s get you washed up,” Dylan showed me the way to the bathroom, it’s a big bathroom with many stalls, I walked into one locking the door behind me and took a very prolonged shower, I made sure to wash everything, twice, then a third time, just to make sure I’m clean.
“Are you done sweetie?” someone asks, it wasn’t Dylan.
“Who are you?” I call back in fear.
“I’m Evelyn, I’m here to help you Angel, Dylan and William sent me,” she answers me.
“Are you a vampire?” I ask her.
“Well yes dear, I’m one, once you’re done, I’ll hand you a towel and get you your clothes,” she answered me.
“Okay,” I say, taking a final shower, using the soap and shampoo to wash up everything one last time before I am done.
“I’m done Evelyn,” I call back to her, I was done.
“Here you go,” she hands me a towel from behind the door, I dried off and wrapped it around my body before coming out looking for my clothes, or any kind of clothes I get to wear.
“Here you go,” she says handing me new clothes.
“Is this your job?” I ask her, as I went back in to put on my clothes.
“My job is to help code blue,” she says, but I still don’t get what it means.
“What does my code mean?” I ask her.
“Means you’re code blue,” she answered me, which didn’t answer anything.
She guided me to my bedroom after I was all done, it’s a small room and I got to sleep in a comfy bed, I got in the bed and got under the blanket, and then I started crying, I couldn’t help the tears that went down, it all started as a couple tears coming down my face but then turned into full-on sobbing, and the sobbing turned into a breakdown, it’s been very long since I cried this much or like this.
The next morning, it came, the sun didn’t stop rising in respect of my sadness, the world didn’t stop turning, the world kept on moving, nothing stopped since I was sad, no one cared, not the world, not the people, nothing, it was time to wake up, it was time to get up, ready or not, the life kept on moving.
“Angel, time to wake up,” I heard Evelyn’s voice on my door as she knocked and told me to get up.
“I’m up,” I groan, from my place under the blanket, I have hardly slept to begin with, so I’m awake really early.
“Can I come in?” Evelyn asks, respecting my privacy, only if the humans can act like that with each other.
“Yeah,” I say, trying to hide the fact that I’ve been crying.
“Here’s your clothes for the day, now please get ready and meet us for breakfast,” she says.
“Okay, I will,” I agree with her, taking the clothes out of her hand, they were my size, not perfect for me, but they were mine.
I got dressed for the day and left the room, I followed the other humans, they were all going down and so I followed them, they all met in a big cafeteria, there was food set up for us, we took plates and got them filled with food, and then we took a seat and started to enjoy our food.
“Good morning everyone, I know last night I explained things to you, but now it’s time to give everyone their codes, these are bracelets, they are permanent, don’t take them off, don’t try messing with them, just imagine them as your vampire wedding bracelet,” William explains, so everyone get a code.
People, I mean vampires went around the room, said our names out loud and then placed the bracelet around our wrists, it’s a one-way bracelet, it can’t be taken off our arms. Mine was blue, and I wasn’t the only one who had a blue bracelet, there were other colours as well, there was red, green, and black. I looked at everyone trying to get if they knew what their colour stood for, but no one had any idea what those colours stood for, so we looked at William waiting for him to explain them to us.
“You’re going to be going in groups, according to your colour,” William orders, we all do that, we go to our groups, our was led by Evelyn, there weren’t many blue, around a hundred while the black was the most ones.
“Now what?” someone asks, looking around, as we all have a group.
“Please wait for me,” William calls out.
“We’re waiting,” someone else yells to him.
“Now that you got your group, you’re going to be given your new living address, those homes are ready for you, some of you might be staying in a hotel or something, but it’s all temporary, you’d be moving into your permanent home after that,” he says, but that doesn’t explain what any of this means, but I guess we’re all going with the flow for now.
