Angel POV.
“Come on girl, you got to eat at least,” one of the girls says, she looked at my bruises, but she didn’t get how I got them all, she didn’t understand what was going on or what happened to me when everyone was gone, when it was just me and Caleb in here.
“I’m not hungry,” I answer her, looking away and avoiding their eyes, avoiding everyone’s eyes, I didn’t want to see anyone or talk to them anymore.
She sighed and moved away she went to sit with the rest of the humans, they were all talking about how they went through the city and found no one, it’s like the vampires were gone. Did they just leave, they left this whole place and left me behind, I’m not good anymore, I’ve been spoiled, I’ve been ruined they must be over me, they don’t need ones like me, they don’t want ones like me.
I don’t know why it felt this shitty to be left behind, I wanted to be with the vampires, I wanted them to come and get me, I wanted to be part of them, instead, I’m left with the mean evil human, they plan on killing me maybe, or I’d die on my own.
“She won’t eat,” the human girl says.
“She’ll eat when she’s hungry,” Caleb said and I gave him the death glare, I didn’t want to look at anyone, but Caleb, I was ready to break through this stupid cage and go kill him with my bare hands.
“She won’t look at us, but she looks like she’s ready to kill you,” someone else says, Caleb laughed, he just laughed, what a jerk.
“She’s nothing but a kitten,” Caleb says, and all I wanted to do was show him my claws.
“Be careful Caleb, even kittens have nails,” the other guy warns him but he just laughs again, what a jerk.
I pulled myself around, I decided that it was better to look at the wall than look at Caleb, I didn’t give a damn if I get hit from the back, I wished for a bullet in the head, quick and painless. My eyes were starting to nod off, every time one of the humans behind me moved, I’d open my eyes and look at who was moving and if they were coming anywhere near me, they didn’t, but I had to make sure that no one would.
Time passed, I felt it passing, my whole body ached, and all I wanted to do was to take a shower, a scolding hot shower, but I couldn’t have what I wanted, I had to sit in here and wait for the time to pass, maybe it’ll pass quicker somehow. The humans moved around they went up and down, they talked, some left and some came back, I was just glad over the fact that I wasn’t left alone with Caleb anymore.
“Caleb we have someone up there,” a guy came down into the parking screaming, he looked terrified.
“Who’s there?” Caleb asks him, not giving him any attention, still busy with whatever he is doing.
“The vampires are here, the vampires are here,” he says on the verge of tears, maybe he’s going to piss himself too, it looked like it, the vampires aren’t that scary why was he so terrified of them.
“They can’t be here, they skipped town,” Caleb answered him with too much smugness like he knew it all, but he couldn’t be sure, maybe the vampires were back.
“No, they are up there! I’m telling you,” the guy cries, I believed him, I found some hope down the bottom of my soul, suddenly it felt like my world wasn’t over yet, is Dylan along with them? Is he back for me, I wish he was.
“Maybe they’re just here for the mall, stay quiet, everyone,” Caleb yells up, getting everyone to shut up, well his yelling was enough to get their attention, is he stupid? No, I’m sure he’s very stupid.
“They’re coming down here for god’s sake Caleb, everyone gets ready,” the guy who said that I have nails yells at everyone, they all went to get their guns, everyone had guns even the guy who was terrified.
“Get ready,” Caleb says standing in the back and letting the rest stand in front, what a coward.
“They’re here,” the poor person who was standing in the front yelled, I didn’t see anyone coming, maybe it was from my position, I decided to stay near the ground, I didn’t want to get a bullet by mistake in my head, now that the vampires are near, I had just a tiny bit of hope left.
“Then shoot,” Caleb yells, everyone starts to shoot toward the door, the opening of the parking lot, it’s a small turn, and they go crazy with shooting, they made this whole place light up, I could see up in front of us now, and I could see clearly that there’s no one on the other side, who are they shooting at.
“I don’t see anyone,” the scared guy says, and I nod, no one asked for my opinion, but I couldn’t see anything either.
“They aren’t here,” Caleb yells out loud with a burst of laughter, he laughs like it’s nothing, didn’t he see what William did to that guy, how he killed him with his bare hands?
“Everyone go back to their position, they aren’t here, they skipped town, and we scared them away,” Caleb says laughing happily as if he won the war. The rest of the humans looked at him confused but then they started laughing as well, they put down their guns to clap happily.
The lights in the parking lot turned off, maybe it was all the shooting, maybe they had hit the electricity wires or something, someone yelled saying go check the electricity, I kept my head down, I couldn’t see anything.
The elevator opened from another part of the parking lot, one that we weren’t using, it gave some light in the area, they were here the vampires were here for real, they ran in fast, they were very fast, and with the dark, I couldn’t tell where they were.
“They’re here, they’re here,” the one who’s next in charge yells, there was a shooting gun, there was a lot of shooting, and the shooting had the place lighting up again, I could see again and I saw vampires, and humans, the shooting was insane and the vampires, they didn’t use any guns just their fangs and hands.
“Where is she?” Dylan yells, I hoped he meant me but I wasn’t too sure, I couldn’t yell and say that I’m here, that it’s me.
“She’s dead,” Caleb answered him, I followed the voices and saw that it was Dylan who was standing near Caleb, he had a hand around his neck, the other making him stand still, Caleb was trying to get his gun up, but Dylan had a very tight hold on him.
“She’s not, I can smell her, I can smell her on you,” Dylan says and then he bites Caleb, he killed him, revenge never tasted sweeter than now.
“ANGEL,” he yells, so it is me the one he’s looking for, I felt important for once, I felt like I was needed and wanted like someone still cared about me, someone wants me, even if it’s a vampire who’s after my blood and body, his kind of attention makes me feel special.
“I’m here,” I yelled back, he came toward me, he came toward my stupid cage, broke the lock open and dragged me out by the hand, he got me standing up with one move, but it made me stumble as I’m out of the cage, there was still shooting all over the place, they went crazy now, they were shooting everywhere and at everyone.
Dylan went down on his knees placing me between his arms, trying to keep me safe from the bullets as I screamed, I think the noise that was coming out happened to be out of my mouth, I wasn’t sure, but I knew I was terrified.
“Someone get those fucking guns down,” Dylan yells out loud to his man, his vampires, how many of them are out there, with all the shooting, I wasn’t sure who was winning who was not, the guns had me confused.
“Get that one out of here,” another familiar voice says, after a second, I found out whose voice that was, it’s William, he’s here too.
“I’m trying brother,” Dylan calls back, they are siblings and they both came here, I was saved finally.
“Then stop trying and get her out, this is about to get ugly,” William says.
“It’s already ugly,” Dylan answers him, he’s right, it’s terrifying in here.
“Uglier, get her out, now,” William ordered, Dylan got half up from the ground, he kept his hands around me, and then he started to drag me out of the parking floor, he took me toward the elevator they came from before we made it there, I could feel blood coming down my shoulders, and that blood wasn’t mine.
