William POV.
“Good morning everyone, hope everyone is doing well,” I say with a giant smile on my face, I have a big smile, the smile I give to all our new pets, the classification is over, and everyone is going to get their colour band sometime today, maybe tomorrow, I haven’t heard anything from my brother today yet, I hoped to hear the good news soon, and then we’d move to the next step.
“Good morning William,” a couple of people answered me while others didn’t look too comfortable, we have most, no ninety-nine per cent of the human population, the compatible ones, the submissives, the ones who are very obedient, the ones who did as I asked them to do, they came over, they spent time in here with us, and it’s time to start their new life.
“Today is a very exciting day, we’re going to move on from here, we’re going to start our new life,” I tell everyone, I love this place, but it’s not enough for everyone, we need to start figuring out a routine instead of this life of being in here.
“What’s going to happen today?” someone asks me, I wished I could tell them but I had to make sure everything was going well on my brother’s side before I set this whole place loose, I decided to lie to them it’s just a small white lie, nothing too major, once we got things going, I won’t have to lie to any of them anymore.
“Today, we’re going to decide if we’re going to move to our new homes, I know we all love this place, but once we make sure the outside is safe and all, we’ll move on,” I say, we need to be sure no one is going to attack anyone while out there.
The humans were happy about my answer, I gave them another smile, and I encouraged everyone to have their breakfast as I left to get back to my office, airing messages was much easier than talking to them face to face, but once they all find their new future, I won’t have to worry this much about them. I got my phone and called my brother again, he hadn’t answered since last night, something was up with my brother, and I had to send someone to check on him, he said that the night isn’t safe for us, the humans are using the dark to hide, but we’re not afraid of anything, I called one of my men over.
“Someone go check on my brother,” I order them, we’re the ones who are taking care of the obedient humans while my brother’s side is taking care of the rebels.
“What should we do?” one of my men asks me not sure what checking means.
“Go there, check on my brother, make him call me,” I order them with a growl, they can’t be that stupid.
“Yes sir,” they answered me and left my office, I sat down with a groan, I wasn’t sure what to do next, tell the humans to get ready for the next step, or just wait until I make sure that my brother was on the same page as me.
I decided to wait, I groaned and whined, but I had to wait, he was on the other side of the city, and it was going to take a couple of hours for my men to get over there, I had time, I’m used to waiting but when the future is so near, when you could just taste it, it’s so hard to wait any longer, or wait at all.
I managed to wait a couple of hours, I walked around my office, I walked up and down the stairs, I checked on the humans, I made them breakfast and lunch, I made sure everyone was okay and happy when I was done, I went back to my office thinking that a glass of whiskey would make me feel better, maybe it’ll help the time start passing at all, finally my phone rang.
“Hello,” I say hoping and knowing it’s my brother.
“Hey, William,” Dylan’s voice says, I know he’s a big badass vampire, but he’s my younger brother and I worry about him, I can’t help worrying about him, my baby brother.
“Where the hell have you been?” I ask him with a growl, I’m glad he’s fine but that doesn’t mean that I’m not mad at him and not going to kick his ass for scaring the hell out of me.
“Our headquarters has been compromised,” Dylan says, he loved the army, and he joined the human army four times.
“What do you mean?” I ask him with worry.
“The humans, the rebels turned out to be smarter than expected they took over, but all of us are alive, I can’t say the same about them,” he answered me, I didn’t expect any less from him.
“Are you hurt?” I ask him just to be sure.
“A small flesh wound but it healed,” he answers me, I was worried about my brother, but I knew he could heal from any flesh wound, no matter how big it is.
“What about the code blue you had?” I ask him with worry, the code blue is the most delicate code, and showing them the real face of war wasn’t part of our plan.
“They took her, but we’re going to have her back,” Dylan says.
“How are you going to have her back?” I ask, maybe she’s lost, they took her but where did they take her?
“She’s wearing my tracker, but I called you to get permission,” he says, permission for what?
“What for? You want to start putting trackers?” I asked him, we haven’t agreed on that one yet, it’s an idea but we haven’t agreed on doing it yet.
“No, we’re going to purge the whole area of them, leave no one behind,” Dylan says.
“Weren’t you supposed to do that?” I asked him with a raised brow, he couldn’t see the raised brow, but he could imagine it.
“Brother, didn’t you say that I have to give everyone the injection first before deciding who to keep and who to kill?” he reminds me.
“Stupid me, go ahead Dylan, go wild,” I say with a shrug, anything that would keep my dream moving, the faster that it happens the better.
“You wanna join?” Dylan asks me, it’s not a bad option to join him, to go along and get this thing over with, get my hands dirty and make sure that Dylan is safe the whole time which is a big plus.
“Yeah, get the armoury ready, I’m coming in,” I say, it’s better that way, I got up and called the guys that are left in here, I need them all to keep an eye on the humans around here, make sure this whole place is on lockdown.
“No one comes in, no one goes out, not a fly move over this place without you knowing, if you hear me screaming and crying wanting in, don’t allow me in until my mission is over, and you’d know when that happens,” I tell them, they all nodded agreeing to obey me.
“I’ll see you guys in a couple of hours,” I say feeling too proud of myself, maybe it’ll take a bit longer, maybe it’ll take up until tomorrow and we have my brother’s pet to bring back, we can’t leave her.
It took me an hour to get over to his point, I drove like a crazy guy and the streets were empty, with no one to stop me or say that I had to slow down. I parked in front of the white house and went toward my brother, I heard his voice, and I knew he was fine, but seeing him made my heart feel better.
“Dylan,” I say walking toward him and hugging him, even bad vampires need hugs and reassurance.
“Hey, I’m fine,” Dylan assures me, I nod glad to be sure that he’s fine, now it’s time to get going, and kill those humans.
“Ready to go?” I ask him and he nods, we get our weapons ready first, I haven’t carried a gun in a while, I prefer using my hands, but the humans like to shoot from far away, they are cowards, and it’s time to get rid of them.
“Do you have your tracker ready?” I ask him, and he nods showing me where that special code blue was.
“All ready,” Dylan answers me.
“Is she like your pet now? You plan on adopting her?” I asked Dylan, was she that special to him.
“No, you know I have many pets, I’m just going to get her home where she belongs,” he answers me, so we’re just going to save her to keep her alive, I didn’t mind about that, all and any humans were important for us, and we keep what ours.
“Then let’s go save her, and end this,” I answer him
