Chapter 49

Book:The CEO'S Delicate Wife Published:2024-8-24

Olivia crouched down behind her door, her tears rolling down her cheeks as she wiped them.
She was in the delusion that things were smoothening out and turning out well, between her and Morgan, but it turned out to be extravagant thinking.
Morgan’s words alone were enough to wake her up from any kind of trance she was in. Now that she understood that he’s doing everything because of the contract, which would end some years later.
Olivia vowed to shake off every feeling that was growing deep inside her, be it his act of tenderness and care, she was going to act ignorant of it, until their Contract was over.
She was still in her thoughts, when she slept off.
Later, in the morning when Olivia woke up, she found herself in Morgan’s room, but he wasn’t there and the bed was cold, indicating he’s been gone for a long time.
Olivia got up immediately, her eyes darting around the room as it stopped on the wall clock to check the time.
She still couldn’t believe how she ended up in his room. But now, she was sure that she would sleep walk, if not how would she end up in his room, even after she vowed not to be close to him.
“I really need to talk to a doctor about this. I can’t keep sleepwalking into people’s room, no.” She thought inwardly, as she walked out of the room, praying she didn’t see him.
Olivia went into her room, she was about to call the doctor as she grabbed her phone, but then his call came in.
“Hello, Miss Olivia,” the doctor said, his deep voice filled with happiness.
“Good morning doctor, I was about to call you. Is there any news?”
“Yes dear, good news in short. Your mom opened her eyes this morning, though she hasn’t been able to Say a word. But, I think she will, when she sees you.”
“Thank you so much doctor, I’m so happy, I’d be there right now!” Olivia cried in happiness as she was unable to contain.
“You’re welcome dear, you should be more thankful to Mr Morgan.”
Olivia’s smile seemed to falter, but she nodded. “I won’t forget to do that.” She added, with that, the call was cut off.
She knew it was all with Morgan’s help, if not her mom would have died a long time ago. But, nevertheless she was also helping him in return.
Olivia was already dressed up and ready leave. See contemplated on calling Nicholas, but discarded the thought, as soon as it came to her mind.
She walked for a while, before stopping a cab and gave the driver the address to the hospital.
They haven’t gone far, when Olivia noticed something strange about the driver, his face was covered so well, that his reddened eyes were only seen.
Olivia met his gaze, and she felt a strange shiver curse through her body, she swallowed not letting her fear show.
“Hi, Mr driver, can you stop me here?” She said, revealing a smile, which was obviously faked.
The driver remained silent.
Olivia glanced at him, a weird feeling growing in the pit of her stomach.
“Mr driver, I’m stopping here, stop me now!” She said aloud, sounding more clear.
The man stared daggers at her through the rear mirror and retracted his gaze, ignoring whatever she seems to be saying.
Morgan
Morgan was the first name that came into her mind, as she secretly grabbed her phone. She was about to dial his number, but the phone was quickly snatched from her hands before she could even find his number.
It was then that she noticed the car had halted, she glanced to meet the man’s cold yet malicious eyes. She couldn’t remember offending anybody, but that wasn’t what she was thinking, as she could only think of how she would escape.
“Can you please, give back my phone?” Olivia said, making her voice soft as it could be.
The man ignored her, as he slipped the phone into his pants pocket, he brought out a rope from a bag in the car.
Is he trying to tie her up? But why?
“Who are you and why are you trying to tie me up? I swear I’m not the person you’re looking for, let me go.” Olivia babbled, staring nervously at the man.
He remained silent, but glared angrily at her, reminding her to remain silent. Olivia was scared to her bones, but wasn’t ready to let it show, not even in her voice.
Olivia thought of all possible things she could say to scare the man, so he would let her go.
Morgan
She thought of Morgan yet again. Since his name was so famous yet powerful, she decided to use it.
“I don’t think you know my husband, cos if you do, you wouldn’t dare to tie me up like this.” She hissed, secretly scanning the man’s expression.
The man paused and glanced at her, narrowing his eyes at her.
It’s working!
Olivia smiled inwardly, “My husband is Morgan Gilbert, and he’d stop at nothing to look for me. He would punish you, that you’d wish you never existed.” She added.
Just as Olivia had thought that the man had fallen for words and was going to release her, he shook his head and tamed her mouth with a masked tape.
Olivia widened her eyes, making muffled sounds as she couldn’t say a word. The man slammed the door and entered into the driver seat.
He drove off, after tying her up until nothing was left, apart from her eyes, which were faced on the passenger seat, making it impossible for her to see where he was headed.
It wasn’t long before the car pulled up at an unfamiliar place. The man came down and brought Olivia down, letting her Walk on her foot, as her hands were tied.
She secretly observed the vast and quiet environment, the air was so cool that it was almost freezing her body.
We could smell a heavy scent of sand and sea salt, with the rhythmic sounds of wave, indicating they were close to a sea shore or ocean maybe.
Sooner than later, she was brought to a sea shore, with various ships waiting. Now, Olivia was scared, she glanced at the man who hasn’t said anything since he adopted her.
She made muffled sounds to gain his attention, once he looked at her, she signaled him to remove the tape on he mouth.
The man glanced at her for a while before he peeled it off.
“Why did you bring me to a sea shore? Don’t tell me you’re going to sell me or take me away from Manilla. My mom had no else here, it’s only….”
Her mouth was closed back, as the man didn’t want to listen to her gibberish. He dragged her into a ship, which he also joined and it wasn’t long before the ship moved off.
“Hello sir, I can’t seem to get through it Mrs Olivia, she isn’t at the hospital either. The doctor said, “he hasn’t seen her yet.” Nicholas explained, with furrowed brows.
“What!”
