Chapter 38

Book:The CEO'S Delicate Wife Published:2024-8-24

Ava settled on her bed, as she took out her phone from her bag. She brought out the cash Nicholas threw at her.
One million pesos!
She gasped, recounting the money. Ava didn’t dare to close her eyes, afraid that the money might disappear, when she did.
Olivia’s sugar daddy was super rich and rich! No wonder Olivia was always wearing expensive and trending fashion wears.
She had thought that the man was already tired of Olivia and needed a new pretty girl. But she was dead wrong, he brought her to his house, just to return her phone.
Now, Ava was more confused. Could Olivia really conive him to make her a fool by pretending to be the young master?
With everything happening, Ava was more convinced that Olivia was the person who had chatted her up. She pretended to be the young master, just to make a fool of herself.
Just you wait Olivia! You’d be dead, when I’m done with you.
Ava was still in her thoughts, when a message popped into her phone.
Private: OPEN THAT PAPER!
Ava paused, her heart, suddenly pounding hard in her chest. She grabbed the paper that had fallen from her bag. The same paper, Nicholas had warned her strictly on.
She widened her eyes in shock after reading the contents in the paper. Just as she was about to drop the paper, her phone started ringing.
Glancing at the screen, Ava frowned. It was the same number, which had threatened to expose her relationship with the young master, if she didn’t do what was asked of her.
“You bitch! Did you dare to go against what I said to you?” A rough and cracky voice growled, startling Ava.
She wanted to explain everything to him, to tell him she wasn’t really dating the young master. That it was all, one of her step sister’s dirty tricks.
But she stopped herself, before she could blurt all that out. The paper she had read warned strictly about it.
“I won’t dare to forget our deal. He had his eyes on me, all the time we were together. I didn’t have the chance to send them to you.” She babbled, staring at the paper.
“So now his eyes are off you?”
“I’d send the files, that’s only what I could get. The room was too dark to get his pictures.” She muttered.
“Shit! Send the files then. Be sure that those files are legit and important, if not you’d regret messing with me.” He threatened.
“I swear, it’s legit.”
“Good”
With that, the man hung up the call, leaving Ava in utter confusion.
She stared blankly at her screen for a while, thinking about what just happened.
It was written in the paper, that she should agree to sleeping with the young master. A particular file was sent to her phone to send to the person, when he requests for the file.
Could this be one of Olivia’s tricks?
Ava was sure she was caught in the middle of a game. A tricky and dangerous game, one she doesn’t even know the players.
At this point, she wanted to go to her mom and tell her everything, but she couldn’t bring herself to do it.
She sent the files to the unknown man, not bothering to read or go through it.
******
Olivia already gave up on calling Morgan and waiting for him. She glanced at her phone, it was almost midnight, yet no message from him.
She got up from the sofa, about to leave for her room, when the door was opened from outside.
Olivia paused and turned immediately, to see Morgan walking in, with large strides. A sweet smile, which she didn’t notice, escaped her lips.
Now, she understood why they said, Absence makes the heart grow fonder. It was just only a day, but if it felt like it’s been days she saw him.
She missed him. How could that even be possible?
“You’re home.” She awkwardly muttered, raising her face to look at him.
As fast as she could blink her eyes, Morgan grabbed her waist, pulling her into him, as he engulfed her lips in an urgent, yet gentle kiss.
Olivia moaned, returning the kiss, as she trailed her arms towards his shoulders, allowing them to rest there.
Morgan pressed her closer, sucking and nibbling on her lips, kissing her like he had been thirty for a long time and she was the water he needed.
He only released her lips, when she was on the verge of running out of breath. He palmed her face, resting his forehead on hers. She winced, slightly adjusting her head, which didn’t fail to notice.
Olivia’s eyes were glistening with tears, under the bright light, her face flushed red, as her plump lips were swollen, from the intense kiss.
“You did not call me last night.” Morgan’s gruffy voice mumbled.
“I thought you were still angry and wouldn’t take my calls.” she murmured, barely audible, as she was still catching her breath.
Morgan chuckled at her reply. He slightly pulled her further from him, to have a vivid look on her face.
Fuck self control, beacuse all he wanted to do with the woman right in front of him, right then was sinful and sinful.
He couldn’t let his deepest desire, have the better of him. Just as he was about to release her arms, his eyes suddenly fell on her forehead.
Morgan creased his brows, as he pulled closer, wanting to have a clear view of her face.
Olivia, who was now aware of the reason he was staring at her forehead, thought of a quick, and possible lie. She couldn’t risk his relationship with his brother by telling him, she banged her head somewhere, while inside his car.
“What happened to your forehead?” he asked, knitting his brows, so deep, that it could kill a fly.
“I-i hit it somewhere.” She said, nervously rubbing her head.
Morgan glanced at her, obviously not convinced.
“Where did you hit it?”
“Uhhm, in the room. Yeah, I hit it on the door, in my room.” She babbled.
Morgan could see through her lies, he knew she was lying, but didn’t bother to ask her further. She couldn’t get such marks from banging her head on the door, although her skin was delicate, he knew better than that.
“I’d apply the ointment, so it would heal before tomorrow.” Olivia added.
She knew what she said wasn’t necessary, but she felt like saying it. Morgan hummed, nodding in agreement.
