Later that night, Morgan woke up and carried Olivia into his bed. She whined, twitching her face in the process, but later relaxed.
Meanwhile, Morgan watched her closely, his eyes studying every inch of her face.
His heart fluttered, for nothing else but for the tiny figure occupying his bed. He pulled her closer, holding her waist as he leaned his face into her nook, inhaling her pleasant smell, until he slept off.
******
Xavier sat on his couch, his gaze fixed on the led plasma television hung in his extravagantly furnished sitting room.
He was about to turn it off and leave for work, when a headline caught his attention.
YOUNG MASTER MORGAN WAS SEEN WITH A WOMAN LAST NIGHT AT A NIGHTCLUB. AS THE WOMAN’S FACE REMAINS UNKNOWN, NETIZENS WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO THE WOMAN IS….
Xavier frowned, his mind drifting back to the girl he saw in the hospital, as Morgan’s wife.
Could she really be Morgan’s wife? They didn’t even have a wedding…Who exactly was this girl?
Xavier thought as a bad idea popped into his mind. He turned off his led screen and left.
Just when he left, Stacy walked out of the room, with Cherry in her arms, all dressed for school.
“Mama, are you quarelling with Papa again?” Chery asked, arching her large, white puppy eyes.
Stacy laughed, pinching her cheeks. “Of course not baby. Papa has so much work to do today, and mama doesn’t want to disturb him.”
Cherry glanced at her mummy as if not convinced, she suddenly smiled and hugged her mom.
“Okay Mama.” Cherry smiled sweetly.
In the boardroom, Morgan could be seen sitting on the CEO’S chair, with other board members occupying their own space.
They were in the middle of a serious conversation, when Xavier badged into the boardroom. His face was laced with anger and seethed hatred for Morgan.
“Morgan, how dare you call for a board meeting, without letting me know? Am I not a board member?” Xavier growled, ignoring the rest of the members who were available.
Morgan remained silent, not even daring to spare him a glance, as he concluded the meeting, dismissing the rest of the board members.
After everyone had left, Morgan got up, picking up the files placed on his desk as he walked past Xavier, as if he wasn’t even there.
He had just walked to the entrance door, when he paused and turned to look at Xavier.
“You were saying something, what was that?”
“I suggest you quit acting big, the company hasn’t even been handed over to you yet.” Xavier sneered.
“I think the first thing I’d do is demote you, once it’s in my hands. You’re so incapable.”
Without waiting for him to continue, Morgan walked away.
Olivia woke up to an empty bed, her gaze darting around the room. She was not to be told it was Morgan’s room, the scent of his cologne was heavy in the air.
She could remember, he forced her to sleep in his room. Though it couldn’t be actually called forcing, because she later decided on it.
Olivia was sure Morgan had gone to the office, it was almost midday when she woke up and the sun was already out.
After the day Morgan fell sick, Olivia hasn’t seen Aunt Maureen. Thinking about it now, she was more worried.
She searched the possible places she could be, yet she was to be found. Olivia quit searching for her, after being unable to find her.
She was dressing up in her room, when a phone suddenly started ringing. Olivia paused, knitting her brows in confusion as she turned to geh direction of the Phone.
It was in a carton, and new, an iPhone. Olivia gasped, seeing the price tag on the carton.
How can one spend such a huge amount, on a phone?
The phone started ringing again, this time Olivia took it, her eyes glistening with curiosity.
“You’ve gotten the phone already, call me if you need something.” Morgan’s voice echoed through the phone.
“Thank you.” Olivia smiled. Just when she thought he was going to say another word, he hung up.
She gave the phone one more glance.
before keeping it and going back to dress up.
It wasn’t long after she was done, a knock came to her door and when she opened it, Nicholas was standing before her.
She smiled, “Hi Nick”
Nicholas awkwardly returned the smile.
“Would you like to visit Your father in law?” He suddenly asked.
Olivia didn’t hesitate to say yes. She was bored, so staying at home alone and visiting the old man wasn’t a bad Idea since she would get to know more about the family. Or perhaps Morgan’s mother.
The drive to the hospital was silent, not until Olivia suddenly asked,
“I haven’t seen Aunt Maureen for a while now, or is it just me?”
Nicholas glanced at her through the rear mirror, “Yeah, Maureen, brother got into an accident. He’s the only sibling she’s got, she took leave from young master to take care of him.” He explained.
Olivia felt sorry for her, wondering why she didn’t inform her even though they were a bit close.
“Is she going to stay home for a long time? Is his wound severe?”
“She would stay for a long time, I think the situation is quite serious.” Nicholas stated.
Olivia nodded, not asking another question, till they were in the hospital.
“Thank you” she smiled.
Nicholas nodded with a smiley eyes. He started the car and left.
Of course Olivia was recognised by the nurses who saw her the other time with Morgan. They stared daggers at her, as she went into the Gilbert’s ward, oblivious of their stares.
When Olivia came in, he was sleeping. She sat on the chair, her eyes darting around the room.
She took out her phone from her bag, scrolling through the contact, and found out that it was only Morgan’s number that was present in the phone.
Olivia was thinking of what to save his name with, when a name popped into her head.
Iceberg
She saved it with an iceberg, with two laughing emojis. She smiled widely, thinking about his face when he saw what she saved his name with.
Olivia was still smiling, when Gilbert’s eyes slowly fluttered and opened.
