After kissing for a full minute, Olive’s eyes returned to normal. Her fangs and claws withdrew. She looked at Wayne who was still holding her and kissing her and she frowned. She pushed him away and he staggered back in surprise. Before he could say boo, a slap tore across his face. Then another slap. Then a third one. Then the fourth one. All on one cheek. It wasn’t painful for him. But it hurt him. Somewhere inside his chest was hurting.
“You liar! You womanizer! I hate you! I hate you so much!” she cried as she began to hit him all over his body. He grabbed her arms and pinned her to the wall, carefully.
“Olive,” he whispered.
“Don’t call my name! Don’t call me with that tongue of yours,” she cried. His heart began melting like butter in a hot skillet.
“Don’t cry,” he said and began wiping her tears with his thumbs. His eyes turned into a warm, shiny blue. Like an ocean filled with stars. She gasped.
“I’m sorry,” he apologized and kissed her eyes.
“Your eyes are… blue,” she said in a low tone because her voice had died down.
“Yeah. It’s your special eyes, Olive. The blue eyes are for you,” he said and nuzzled into her bloodstained neck. He didn’t care that she was stained. As long as it wasn’t her blood.
Two men entered the room that moment and carried a dying Gia out. Olive’s eyes darkened as she saw her and her wolf almost jut out again.
“Hey, hey… calm down little kitten,” Wayne teased and shifted her face to look at him alone. His eyes were still blue.
“Do you want to go upstairs? Or that pool?” he asked. He was super proud of her. She was possessive of him. He was sooo proud!
“I have to change,” she answered and looked down at her bloodied hands and her ruined dress. She didn’t regret what she did, even though it reminded her of her past.
“Upstairs it is,” he said and carried her bridal style. As he took her away from the dining room, two older ladies bowed to them and entered there to clear the table and the mess. He had mind linked them to do so. And also his men to take Gia home and have her doctor attend to her so she could heal properly then await her punishment.
He climbed the stairs gently, with his mate cradled in his arms. He knew he had a lot of explaining to do. Because Olive had believed Gia and was hurt. He took her to the bedroom and stood her on her feet.
“Just take a shower, okay? There’s a shower cap so don’t ruin your hair. It’s still fine,” he said as he ran his fingers through her ponytail.
“I have to clear my head, Wayne. I won’t wear the shower cap,” she replied and he nodded. He could sense the way she still felt.
“I promise I’ll explain everything to you, okay baby?” he kissed her cheek and looked into her eyes. She only heaved without replying, then walked towards the bathroom door. He exhaled through his mouth, ruffled his hair and walked out of the bedroom. His blue eyes immediately turned into red as he descended the stairs hurriedly. He walked through the living room, flung the front door open and got outside. Immediately the remaining men saw him, with the color of his eyes and his raging self-they knew the lucky ones were the men who took Gia home.
“Alpha,” one of them called worriedly as they began to move backwards.
Wayne’s claws jutted out and he grabbed one of the men by the collar. The claws pierced through the suit and grazed his skin. Wayne’s bright red eyes glared at him and everyone else there. Then his eyes turned into a warm amber. A second later, it flashed back to red.
The man he was holding almost died with fear. He knew he would be clawed in his chest very soon by the raging beast holding him. But to his surprise, Wayne gently unclutched him and stepped back. His eyes returned to normal. The man stepped far back away from him and crouched down, holding his chest and supporting his hand against his thigh. His heart had almost burst out.
“What happened here?” Wayne asked. No doubt, he was angry.
“My Alpha,” the one who called him earlier acknowledged and went on one knee, with his head bowed.
“It is my fault. When I saw Lady Gia, she demanded to meet you urgently over a personal matter. She deceived me that it was your mate who wanted her help,” the man explained. Wayne scoffed and stood akimbo.
“Personal matter my foot,” he spat.”Why didn’t you ask me?”
“You had your mental shields up, my Lord,” he answered. His head was still bowed.
“Where is she?”
“Two men have taken her to her house. She would be attended to there just as you said.”
Wayne nodded and looked at Gia’s car. That lady was causing trouble. He was one who loved trouble and was always bored with serenity. But tonight, he realized he didn’t want any trouble. Nevertheless, he was going to deal with tonight’s trouble in a way the perpetrator wouldn’t forget.
“Make sure nobody crosses this side anymore. If I see any more disturbances, I won’t think twice before gutting all of you,” he ordered.
“Yes, Alpha,” they all chorused while giving him a bow of the head.
He looked up and could hear the shower running upstairs. He was worried. Worried over what his mate would think and judge. She slapped him several times earlier. Which meant she was brokenhearted.
He ruffled his hair again, cussed and walked back inside. As he entered the bedroom, the shower stopped. He walked to the closet and saw baggy t-shirts, about five of them. He didn’t frequent this particular villa which was why he brought her here. Where no one could intrude. Unfortunately, Gia happened. The thought of what she did caused his red eyes to flash out again. His closed them and when he opened again, they were brown.
Wayne picked a plain black t-shirt and laid it on the bed. Olive came out at that instant.
“I thought I heard you outside?” she asked coldly, not liking it that he was in the room. She had wanted to be alone. She heard him slightly while talking to his men.
“I just came,” he answered without looking at her. She stood still, not knowing what to do. Her eyes widened a little when she saw him unbuttoning his shirt. She decided to ignore. She knew the t-shirt he kept was for her so she walked hurriedly to him, picked it up and was about to walk away with it when she saw him pulling down the dress shirt, exposing huge chest and abs.
She gulped and stood rooted to the ground. With that tousled hair, creamy skin and broad shoulders, he looked delicious.
Wait, no! She was supposed to be angry.
