Aurelia winked at him with a grin. “You know you’re in trouble now! If Callum knew that I was texting you, what would he do to you? I’m curious.”
Callum turned around suddenly, and Aurelia quickly sat up straight, looking at the screen guiltily.
Feeling his gaze on her, she felt uneasy. Why were this man’s eyes so sharp? He was like a leopard fixed on his prey!
Until this moment, she had finally figured out that Callum came here to give lectures just for her. Otherwise, why did he pick on her in every class?
After class, as she expected, she was called to the office again. When she handed her textbook to Briar, she told him, “Go buy some fireworks when you have time.”
“What?”
“The day Callum stops being our lecturer, I’ll set off fireworks to send him off!”
In fact, Briar still felt a little sympathetic towards Callum. Aurelia was such a troublemaker!
In the office.
Callum placed the phone on the table and ordered, “Unlock the screen.”
Aurelia rolled her eyes and reached out to grab it. However, her hand was held by the man, “Don’t play games with me, or I’ll make you regret that!”
What?
Who cared? But Aurelia didn’t dare to say it. She smiled awkwardly and said, “Okay.”
Callum took his hand away. As soon as she retrieved her phone, she rushed to the door with the phone in her hand.
The man’s voice came faintly from behind. “Check your phone and decide whether to run or not.”
What did he mean?
Aurelia stopped and unlocked her screen. It was still the same interface, but with a few more messages.
What she typed before had been deleted long ago and it went like, “I’ve had my husband tutor me, and that’s enough.”
“Aurelia, you must be lying to me. How could you possibly get married? I’m sure no one would dare to marry a difficult girl like you!” Seeing these words made Aurelia fume inside, but she still chose to continue reading.
“My husband is not an ordinary person.”
Liam hadn’t texted back since then.
Were these messages replied by Callum? When did he reply? How come she knew nothing?
Calculating the time, they were still in class…
Aurelia found that she became gentler. Otherwise, she would have rushed over to beat Callum up! Although, she couldn’t beat him.
She didn’t look back after reading the text messages. The man behind her lit a cigarette and said two words lightly, “Your ex?”
“Yes!” She turned around and looked at Callum before saying, “So… you will divorce me, right?”
Callum leaned back in his chair casually, without saying anything. He flicked the ash off his cigarette and asked after a long while, “Do you like him very much?”
He remembered that Aurelia had told him that she had someone she liked, and it was probably the man who sent her the message!
Aurelia shook her head reflexively. But within two seconds, she nodded and said, “Yeah, I like him very much.” Actually, she had already gotten over Liam. Why would she be hung up on a man whose entire family disliked her?
At this moment, she told Callum that she liked him, hoping that he would agree to a divorce.
However…
“Very good. I love challenges.” Callum curled his lips before adding, “I will definitely defeat him and win your heart!”
Aurelia was speechless.
She opened the door of the office. Jim at the door saw her coming out and greeted her warmly, “Mrs. Finnegan, Mr. Finnegan has already booked movie tickets and invites you to watch a movie tonight.”
Two movie tickets. were raised to her face. The time “2 a. m.” of the movie reminded her of the horror movie Callum had mentioned before.
Aurelia was about to close the door, but she took two steps back and returned to the office.
“I won’t text him anymore!”
The man stood up from his chair with satisfaction and walked towards her. “Wait for me at home in the evening!”
As he finished speaking, she fell into his arms.
He wrapped his arms around her waist, not giving her a chance to say a word, and he leaned down to kiss her.
Damn it! Callum kissed her again!
Inside the VIP room of Evercrest Private Club.
A man of distinguished status leaned lazily on the sofa, fixing his eyes on the red wine in his hand.
Sitting opposite him were his two good friends of equally distinguished status. Roy Morrison was not interested in their topic and stood up to play golf.
After listening to Callum’s complaints, Alex Lee, Briar’s brother, was so shocked that he didn’t say anything for a long time. Callum kicked him with his foot, and Alex came to his senses.
“A rebellious girl who is six years younger than you… Callum, I usually don’t hear you mention a woman, and now you mention a woman who is six years younger than you? And she is so short-tempered.”
Callum glanced at him coldly, “Stop talking nonsense!”
“Okay!” Alex, who had always been around women, said seriously, “Callum, make the best use of your strength and impress her with your money!”
He had supported Aurelia for three years, but in the end, she wanted to divorce him and leave empty-handed. She also planned to return the money she had used before. If he hadn’t threatened her the other day, he believed that she would rather use the thousands of dollars she borrowed than use his money.
“She’s not interested in money.”
Not interested in money? Alex was full of admiration for the woman Callum was talking about. “Then just kill her! You’re Callum Finnegan! A man with both good looks and power.”
Everyone knew that Callum was a catch, the type of guy that any girl would kill for.
Callum said dejectedly, “She’s not interested in me either!”
When he took the initiative, she refused.
When he seduced her and took the initiative, she remained silent.
Finally, he concluded that she really wasn’t interested in him.
Alex almost choked on the wine in his mouth and suggested weakly, “She’s kind of piqued my interest.”
“Stay away from my wife!”
Alex said understandingly, “So she’s from the Sheridan family.” The Sheridan family? He recalled Briar had a good friend who was also from the Sheridan family. Were they the same person?
“What is the woman’s name again? Aurelia?”
Callum raised his eyes and glanced at him, nodding in agreement.
“She is so young. Briar always calls her his best buddy. Callum, I think I can understand how you feel now.” After all, his half-brother, Briar Lee, was not much better than him, who was also a playboy.
