Callum frowned. No matter how difficult Aurelia was, he would not divorce her.
“The good thing is that although she always gets into trouble, she doesn’t smoke and doesn’t mess around with people of bad character.” He paused and added, “Except your brother.”
In Callum’s eyes, Briar was a person of bad character.
Alex suppressed his laughter and said, “I won’t deny it.” It was normal for spoiled brats to have some bad habits.
Roy returned to his seat after playing golf and glanced at the two men. “Laura’s eighteenth birthday is next month. Where are you going to hold her coming-of-age ceremony?”
Laura Crystal, a girl adopted by Roy and Callum for five years.
They doted on her, and Alex as well as Elliot also liked this innocent and lovely girl.
When Alex heard that it was Laura’s coming-of-age ceremony, he was the first to say, “Since it’s Laura’s coming-of-age ceremony, of course it has to be grand. We can go to her favorite island and have a party where we can revel all night long.”
Callum thought for a moment before replying, “Well, doesn’t she like the island in Foxbush? I’ll buy it, and you guys take care of the rest.”
Alex clicked his tongue twice and exclaimed exaggeratedly, “Look, that island at least is worth hundreds of millions, and you buy it without a second thought. If I were a woman, I would definitely throw myself at you. After all, being Callum’s woman means owning the whole world!”
Callum gave him a cold look and said rudely, “If you were a woman, you would be so deformed! A nightmare for all men.”
Alex, who has always been proud of his looks, was unhappy. “Fuck! Callum, you’re going too far! I’m so handsome! If I were a woman, I would be stunningly beautiful, right, Roy?”
Roy ignored him and poured more wine for Callum and himself. The two clinked glasses. “I’ve been on vacation recently, so I can take care of other things. You go do your thing. I’ll contact Rory if I need anything.”
Callum swirled the wine in his glass before saying, “Rory’s not here. Contact Jim.”
Alex asked in confusion, “Isn’t Rory your personal secretary? Why is he not here?” Usually, Rory would always follow Callum.
Callum was silent, not intending to tell them that Rory teamed up with Aurelia to keep things from him.
Alex couldn’t help but burst out laughing. Even Roy asked curiously, “Are you cheated on?”
Callum snorted, “Maybe she has the guts to cheat on me, but Rory doesn’t dare!”
Everyone knew who he was talking about.
Aurelia might be quite rebellious now and dare to do anything, but he firmly believed that one day, he would make her obedient!
Alex inquired, “So what did you do with Rory?”
“He’s going to benefit a lot from starting at the bottom. Otherwise, he won’t cherish his position as my personal assistant.” Callum heard that Rory did a good job on the construction site and was suited for doing physical labor!
After a brief silence in the private room, Alex changed the subject. “What a shame Elliot was away on business. If he were here, the four of us could play poker with some girls around! Now, there are only three of us. Damn. I don’t want to drink with two men. It’s so boring!”
Callum ignored his complaints and glanced at his watch. Aurelia’s yoga class should be over by now, and it was time for her to take the German class.
He drank the remaining red wine in the glass, stood up and walked out, saying, “I’m going back first.”
“Tsk…” Alex looked at Callum’s back in disbelief. A married man was indeed different. However, in the past three years, he had never seen Callum come home so early.
So, was Callum in love?
The door of the private room was opened by two bodyguards, and there was a commotion outside. When Callum had already stepped out of the private room, Alex said faintly, “Anyway, you have no other options at the moment. Given Aurelia’s personality, why don’t you try to take a step back and pamper her? It seems to be your only option.”
Although Briar seemed to be a bit unreliable, he had a good eye for making friends. Although Alex didn’t know Aurelia, he thought that a woman who had been good friends with Briar for several years should have a good character.
Callum’s figure disappeared at the door of the private room. Alex raised an eyebrow and looked at the man, “Roy, want to make a bet?”
“Not interested!” Roy refused bluntly. Besides, as an undercover agent, he couldn’t stand Alex doing such shady things. If it weren’t for Callum and Elliot, Roy would have put him in jail long ago.
“Tsk, what a boring man! Come on! It’s about Callum. I bet he will be a henpecked husband who dotes on his wife.” If Alex knew what Roy was thinking, he would definitely feel wronged. Although Alex was involved in the underworld, he didn’t do anything that was against the law.
Roy was speechless.
He didn’t believe it. Would a man as proud as Callum bow down to a woman?
Alex had always coveted something from Roy. “If I win, I want your pistol!” It was said that Roy had a new pistol that was not good-looking but was incredibly powerful.
“Okay, but if I win, you’ll quit the Dark Night Alliance.”
That was a big price to pay, but Alex was confident that he would definitely win! Alex simply agreed to Roy’s request.
The two men drank the red wine in their glasses at the same time, put down their glasses, and quickly followed the man who had left.
The venue for the high school party was booked by Briar, and it was said to be in a high-end club. When Aurelia arrived, she was so busy calling her yoga teacher to ask for leave that she didn’t notice where she entered.
After the call ended, she followed Briar into the private room.
There were three or four tables in the largest private room of the club, with about dozens of people sitting there.
Seeing Briar arriving late, they all stood up and greeted him. It was all thanks to Briar that they could come to the private club tonight.
This was a place that many people wanted to visit but couldn’t. It was club members only, and she heard that the club dues were up to millions of dollars.
Aurelia tugged at Briar’s sleeve, who was obviously in a good mood, and lowered her voice. “Why did you choose a place here? It’ll cost an arm and a leg. Can you afford it?”
“What are you afraid of? I have my brother’s membership card and his bank card! There are at least seven or eight figures in his card! There is nothing wrong with spending my brother’s money, right?” Aurelia knew Briar’s brother was Alex Lee, but she seemed to have never seen him. Even if she had seen him, it was only once or twice, and she had long forgotten what he looked like.
