Before running away, Aurelia did not forget to pull her friends away with her.
With a cold face, he handed the box to the secretary behind him, glanced at everyone, and ordered the general manager, “We’ll have an executive meeting immediately!”
After saying that, he strode out of the store, leaving the confused crowd on the spot, and headed towards the mall office.
There would be a major change in the management of EliteMart today!
At a Cafe.
The three girls took a big sip of coffee. Cathy spoke up immediately.
Aurelia, whose forehead was covered with sweat, wore an awkward smile.
Aurelia knew that if she didn’t say something, Cathy and Liana would let her off the hook. After thinking for a while, she spoke sadly, “Since I irritated Callum, he has made my life a living hell. Liana knows that he wanted to bury me alive that night! What’s even worse, my car accidentally hit him the same night! But fortunately, he was not injured.”
In order to hide her guilty look, she lowered her head and took another big sip of coffee.
She felt sorry for saying she hit Callum with her car, but she had no choice. If she told her friends that they were a couple, their reaction would be exactly the same as Briar’s!
Seeing the two women’s doubtful looks, she continued to make up stories. “For what has happened recently, I do owe him an apology. But then I wonder if a mere apology will work? No. But maybe a tie clip and a collar pin can make up for my past mistakes.”
“Will Mr. Finnegan need something like that?” Liana originally thought that the sapphire tie clip worth nearly two hundred thousand was super expensive. But on second thought, being used by a man as distinguished as Callum, the sapphire tie clip seemed not good enough for Callum.
“Of course not! Didn’t you see me running away for fear that he would refuse?” Aurelia almost slammed the table. Why was it so difficult to spin a lie!
All because they couldn’t believe that Callum was her husband!
Cathy smoothed her bangs and said, “Aurelia, I believe Mr. Finnegan would not look down on your gift!”
Learning the subject was successfully changed, Aurelia felt a little relieved.
After hearing Aurelia’s explanation, Cathy and Liana looked at each other and laughed.
In the evening, the three of them went to have a meal together. Then Aurelia returned to the villa.
It was getting colder. Aurelia wrapped herself in her coat as she got home.
It was just a little after 9:00 p. m. Callum definitely hadn’t yet come back!
She hummed a little tune, changed her shoes, and went upstairs happily.
“Cause if you wanna go, baby, let’s… Shit!” A scream ended her deliberately howling singing.
Callum looked at the frightened girl in front of him with an expressionless face. Was he that scary?
If Aurelia hadn’t held on to the handrail of the stairs tightly, she would have fallen down the stairs out of fright.
Callum? Why was he here at this hour?
“You have lessons tomorrow. Go to bed early.” Callum glanced at Aurelia, holding the stair railing calmly, walked past her, and went down the stairs with the empty cup.
Aurelia nodded with fear and replied, “Fine!”
She immediately took a deep breath, called back her frightened soul, and then walked back to the room.
In the classroom.
A girl with long flowing hair and a beige dress was sitting at her desk with a gentle smile, reading a psychology book. At this time, the gossip from her classmates behind her made Evelyn stop what she was doing.
“Have you heard that Aurelia, the girl from Class 22 with a very impressive background, has been coming to school in a luxury car worth tens of millions these days?”
“Yeah, I heard that. Could it be that she is being kept as a mistress?”
“No way! Aurelia is less like a woman. Which man would want her? But Evelyn is different. Our campus belle is so gentle and pretty. How can Aurelia be compared with her?” A man with acne on his face looked at Evelyn with an ingratiating smile.
Evelyn hid her complacence and smiled elegantly, deliberately sarcastically saying, “Aurelia has an impressive background. How can I compare to her?”
The acne-faced man immediately became dissatisfied. “Evelyn, your family background is excellent too. Besides, Aurelia’s background is mysterious. Maybe she has been doing something shameful to get where she is!” His words could be heard clearly throughout the classroom.
When others wanted to nod in agreement, they saw Aurelia outside the classroom looking coldly at the acne-faced man. They immediately fell silent and lowered their heads to read.
Evelyn and the acne-faced man didn’t notice the strange looks around them. “My dad just runs a small company.” She pretended to be modest.
The acne-covered man thought of Evelyn ‘s family business and looked at Evelyn with admiration. “Evelyn, your father is the CEO of the company, but what about Aurelia’s father? I heard that she has no parents, and her father died a long time ago! And her mother abandoned her…”
Bang! With a loud bang, the classroom door was kicked open.
The man with acne on his face changed his expression when he saw tAurelia. How long had Aurelia been here?
Seeing a few people behind Aurelia ready to fight made the acne-faced man turn pale.
Aurelia glared at him. Her life had nothing to do with this nosy man! She glanced at the security camera in the corner and winked at Briar. Briar immediately understood. Taking advantage of his height, Briar picked up a stool and a book and walked over to the security camera to cover it tightly.
“Aurelia… I’m sorry!” After covering the camera, several boys walked towards the man with acne on his face with a sly grin, scaring him so much that he apologized to Aurelia immediately.
Aurelia ignored his whine for mercy. Why didn’t he think about the consequences when he was gossiping about her? She made a gesture, and several boys immediately pinned the acne-covered man on the ground and started beating him up.
Hearing the wailing, no one in the class stepped forward to break up the fight. One reason was that the man with acne on his face was a big mouth, who deserved this. And the other reason was because of Aurelia’s terrifying background.
Evelyn looked at the poor guy and then at Aurelia with a pale face in fear. Yesterday, she went to tell on Aurelia again. Had Aurelia already known it?
Probably not! The point was, the office staff let her off every time, which was really infuriating.
Five minutes later, Aurelia and her friends swaggered out of the classroom.
The man with acne on his face struggled to his feet. There was no injury on his face, because they avoided leaving the bruising on it.
Watching Aurelia’s back timidly, the poor guy shrank and decided to stay away from Aurelia the next time he saw her.
