Dreg sat in his car, staring out the windshield in awe. He couldn’t believe what Beast had just told him.
The moon goddess had chosen him, of all people, to be gifted with a mate. And not just any mate, but a priceless one.
Dreg felt a mix of shock and excitement coursing through his veins as he processed the information. He had been searching for his mate for a long time, and when she was finally here he always knew he felt something special towards her.
For years, Dreg had lived a solitary life, hiding in the shadows and surviving by any means necessary.
He had always believed that love and companionship were not meant for someone like him, a beast with a dark past. But now, fate seemed to have a different plan for him.
As he turned the key in the ignition, Dreg’s mind began to wander. Would she really be happy I am here mate? How would she feel?.
Would she be able to accept him for his flaws? Questions swirled in his mind, fighting for attention. He had so many doubts, yet a glimmer of hope flickered within him.
Driving through the city streets, Dreg felt as if the weight of the world had been lifted off his shoulders.
The thought of having a mate, someone who would understand him and stand by his side, filled him with a sense of purpose he had never felt before. He couldn’t wait to tell her, to meet the one who had been destined for him.
Meanwhile, in Rachel’s office, she was busy going through an ancient book filled with different kinds of perfume ingredients.
She couldn’t concentrate, Lyla’s feelings were clouding her judgments, she then decided to ask her, if she didn’t ask she knew she couldn’t do what she was doing.
“Lyla, what’s wrong?” Rachel asked gently, concern lacing her voice. “You seem troubled.”
Lyla said and smiled happily seeing she had gotten her attention “Rachel, I have something important to tell you,” she began, her voice steady and clear in Rachel’s head. “Dreg he is our mate.” She told Rachel.
Rachel’s eyes widened in shock, a mix of emotions flooding her. She had always admired Dreg’s bravery and loyalty, but she had never imagined him as her mate.
They had been close friends for years, but she had never considered him in a romantic way. And now, the thought of hurting him by rejecting him tugged at her heart.
She couldn’t force herself to feel something she didn’t. Her heart belonged to Zech, even if he had hurt her so deeply.
“I… I don’t know what to say,” Rachel stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. “Dreg is a wonderful person, and I appreciate him more than words can express. But I don’t have romantic feelings for him.”
Lyla, her lycan side, couldn’t believe what she was hearing, “But Rachel, I can sense it. The bond between you and Dreg is undeniable. The moon goddess wouldn’t have chosen him as your mate if there wasn’t something there.”
Rachel shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes. “I know what you’re saying, Lyla. And I’m not denying the bond or the moon goddess’s wisdom.
But my heart… it belongs to someone else. I thought Zech would be my mate. I had hoped that he could fill the void within me. But now… now, I don’t know what to do, I can’t seem to bring myself to love him.”
Lyla was really pissed, but she tried to convince Rachel to make her understand. She too was happy and pleased that Dreg was their mate. She saw how well he treated her.
“Rachel, love is a complicated thing. Sometimes, the heart knows what it wants, even if the mind doesn’t understand.
If Zech is the one you truly love, then you owe it to yourself to follow your heart. However, we can’t ignore the bond you have with Dreg.
Maybe there is a reason the moon goddess chose him for you. Perhaps there is a lesson to be learned or a connection to be explored, just don’t be in a haste to reject him okay?”. Lyla spoke to her again.
Rachel nodded, wiping away her tears. “You’re right, Lyla. I can’t ignore the bond or dismiss Dreg’s feelings. I owe him honesty and compassion.
But I also need to be true to myself and follow my heart. It’s going to be difficult, but I believe that everything happens for a reason. I just have to trust in the journey and have faith that it will all work out.”
Lyla’s mood lightens up a bit . “That’s the spirit, Rachel. Trust in yourself and in the universe.
Things may not turn out the way you expect, but sometimes, they turn out even better. Love is a complex dance, but it’s worth taking the risk.”
As Rachel and Lyla continued their conversation, a sense of clarity washed over Rachel. She knew that she had a difficult path ahead, one filled with tough choices and uncertain outcomes.
But she also knew that she needed to be true to herself and to her heart, so she decided to give Zech a second chance again.
Finally Lyla was now calm, she was now able to concentrate on the work she had, she had decided to try out the cure for monoberry, so she was going through some ancient procedure and steps on how to go about It.
But she couldn’t get Zech off her mind, him being clinging these few days, brought back her old feelings, but she could not understand why she felt connected with Dreg and Zech.
Suddenly a knock came on the door, startling her and dragging her attention away from what she was doing, she raised her head up and invited the person in, and then she faced down focusing on her work.
The door opened gently, revealing Bella her Friend, “Hello Miss Rachel” She raised her head up almost immediately, she had not expected to see her, her face beamed with excitement. “Bella” she screamed
She stood up and rushed to hug her.
