Book:His Hybrid Love Published:2024-8-20

Dreg had been away on a business trip, his duties taking him far from home for what felt like an eternity.
Everyday, his thoughts were consumed by Rachel. He missed her more than he ever thought possible. The distance between them had become unbearable, and all he longed for was her.
He had always felt an inexplicable connection with her, a bond that seemed deeper than friendship. It was as if their souls were interwoven, creating an unbreakable thread that connected them.
Upon his arrival, he headed straight for Rachel’s perfume shop, his hands carrying an elegant bouquet of flowers and a box of gourmet chocolates. His heart was light with anticipation.
But as he entered her office, his joy was cut short. There, in the space that had been a sanctuary for him and Rachel as he had thought, stood Zech.
He had stepped inside, hoping to see her smiling face, but instead, his eyes fell upon Zach. Rage surged through his veins, his Lycan senses tingling with recognition and a burning anger he couldn’t explain.
He didn’t know that there was a man in there with her, seeing how he was with her he instantly knew the man’s identity.
He was the one who hurt her so badly that she passed out on the street that fateful night. The fact that Dreg could sense his disgusting wolf made him burn with more anger.
Zach, startled by Dreg’s sudden entrance,
thinking Dreg was a customer, barked angrily at him to leave. Dreg was boiling with anger. But before he could respond,
Rachel interjected.
Her gaze was icy, a stark contrast to the warmth Dreg wasn’t used to, she had warned him to stop coming to her, though the little thing he did made her heart fluster again, but she wanted to give a hard time first.
So maybe next time he would think twice before treating a lady in such a manner.
She quickly gestured for him to sit down. Dreg, feeling a whirlwind of emotions, took a deep breath and reluctantly complied.
Rachel ushered Zach out of her office. “Zach, please leave,” she said politely. She didn’t want him to be hurt by her words.
Zech couldn’t believe she would ask him to leave because of this guy, so many thoughts began to swirl in his head, had she more on, does she have someone else, he didn’t want to believe that, he couldn’t begin to imagine it.
She could see he was lost in his thought, she gently stood up from her chair and walked up to him, “Zech I need you to please leave okay?” She was actually enjoying his company but she didn’t want Dreg to feel hurt either.
“I will see you soon Rachel” he said and stood up from the chair and left the office, he was obviously hurt but he didn’t want to show it, he knew he deserved it.
She locked the door behind him, and then turned back to Dreg, her face softening. “I’m sorry, Dreg,” she said, her voice filled with regret. “Please, have a seat.” He finally sat down on the chair with his anger still evident on his face.
“Here these are for you” he handed her the flowers and chocolates, forcing a small smile on his face.
She apologized again for the interruption and thanked him for the flowers and chocolates. But Dreg could sense a hint of sadness in her eyes, further fueling his anger towards Zach.
Curiosity gnawed at him, and he couldn’t hold back his questions any longer. “Who was he, Rachel? Why was he here talking to you?” Dreg asked, trying to keep his voice steady. Despite the storm of emotions brewing within him.
Rachel sighed. “That’s Zech,” she said. “He’s… he’s the man who hurt me.” She told him seeing no reason for telling a lie to the man who helped her rebuild and reconstruct her life again.
Dreg’s anger flared even hotter, his Lycan instincts telling him to protect Rachel at all costs. “How dare he show up here, acting as if nothing happened!” he growled through clenched teeth.
He hated wolves the most. him here intensified his anger towards him, if it wasn’t for his self control he would have thorn Zech apart.
She didn’t understand why he was so angry, it wasn’t him who was hurt so why was he so angry.
“I’m sorry for not telling you earlier,” she said. “I just… I didn’t see the point in bringing up painful memories.”
He nodded his head understanding her decision, Taking a deep breath, he forced a smile. “I’m glad he’s no longer a part of your life, Rachel.
You deserve so much better,” he said, his voice filled with sincerity. “Don’t let him ruin your peace again”.
Rachel’s eyes softened, and a sense of relief washed over her. She had seemed to notice he had anger issues. but she also saw the immense love and devotion he held for her.
As much as she appreciated his unwavering support, she needed to let him know she wasn’t ready for any relationship, but she knew this wasn’t the best time to say it.
They spent the rest of the afternoon talking, their conversation filled with laughter and he told her about his different trips and the things he saw. But underneath it all, Dreg’s anger towards Zech only hiked, he could sense she wasn’t entirely focused on him.
When it was time for him to leave, he stood up, his heart heavy with a mix of emotions. As he stepped out of the office, he heard a Beast’s voice, his lycan.
“I could sense just how She’s our mate”. All the anger he felt at that moment slowly disappeared instantly, he was so confused he knew from the first time he met her she had no scent on her, so how come, he just stood outside her door in deep thoughts.
“Are you sure?” He questioned his beast to make sure, but he knew that beast wouldn’t lie or joke with such things but he needed confirmation.
