Chapter 83. The Letter

Book:Alexa The Dark Witch Published:2024-8-20

In the medical room,
A blonde girl had arrived at her senior’s right side. Meanwhile, Ethnia occasionally glanced at Aufrodine and Loiston, who had been paying attention to Menka’s behavior and were still carrying out the same actions, as if what Ethnia’s assistant was doing was suspicious.
I could not believe the two women sitting in front of me. They were very suspicious, especially after hearing directly from Menka, that I had received a letter, even though she did not say who the letter was from. That letter must be from Madame Magthianth, thought Ethnia, who occasionally glanced at the two guests who had come there without her invitation.
“This is the letter, Madame.” A woman who always looked youthful gave the roll of parchment with both hands and the person she was talking to accepted it well.
“Thank you, Menka.” After hearing the Healer’s words, the blue-eyed girl turned around and immediately left the area. It seemed like she did not want to deal with the two women who were the principal and his deputy.
The silver-haired woman began to see a red seal with a strange symbol. “Open the seal.”
A dark red light was visible, so this sight shocked Aufrodine and Loiston, but they did not want to say it openly. Ethnia was no longer paying attention to the two women who still had not left the medical room. She started reading what had been written there.
Good day, Ethnia.
I have received your letter and have read it carefully. You have to remember that if the Chosen One had a dream like that, it was meaning that the dream itself came from the Goddess Magia. You must believe her if she says something like that. Never doubt all the information he has given. Besides that, you should quickly tell the principal. Otherwise, there is nothing to worry about. Everything would be okay as per the Queen of Witches’ will.
The news you convey has two meanings: good and bad. Choose one of them, because I will not tell you everything.
Ethnia was silent because there was no other sentence in the parchment, which meant that the woman wearing the white dress typical of the Healers had to be able to choose according to the instructions in the letter. Aufrodine and Loiston looked at each other again because they did not understand what had happened.
“I choose the worst option,” Ethnia said in a low tone so that the two guests there were even more confused seeing her action, which was so strange in their opinion.
Not long after, another sentence appeared that the woman, whose full name was Atmasa Meightarta had been waiting for.
You always choose the worst from the good. That is a sign that you are ready if strange events happen, one of which I will tell you about. The ancient prophecy may be fulfilled in the near future. Why did I even say that? As the Chosen One got older, she was prepared by the Goddess Magia to return to the witches.
You know what that means, right? Prepare yourself, and do not talk too much about this information with the orphanage principal. That crazy woman does not need to know what we discuss in this letter because it is not her business. You can come to her and say that there is nothing to worry about because everything is under the control of the Queen of Witchcraft.
Do not forget to send a letter every week. I always wait for your weekly report.
Regards,
Madame Magthianth Ormenthaz
After reading, all the writing on the parchment disappeared as soon as possible, but Ethnia did not look surprised. A woman, who had a height of one hundred and sixty-seven centimeters tall, began to roll up the parchment, saying, “Burn!”
Fire emerged from the parchment and quickly burned the object until nothing remained. This moment shocked Aufrodine and Loiston, but they could only stay silent because they realized that the two women were in the Ethnia area, even though they really wanted to ask why this could happen.
A woman who had been a Healer for seventeen years turned her focus to Aufodine and Loiston, who were still silent, and their faces looked very shocked. Ethnia tried not to laugh because she had never seen the principal and her deputy in such a state. However, she still displayed a normal expression, as if nothing strange had happened there.
“Back to the topic. I want to tell Madame Aufrodine and Loiston that what Alexa said is true. Our Leader has confirmed this.” These words stunned the two women, looking at each other as if they did not understand but were hesitant to say it directly.
“You are a part of the witch!” Loiston accused the other person, so Ethnia laughed with a terrible expression.
“Thank you for your compliment. I will report to the Emperor that you have been hiding the Chosen One for twelve years. Who do you think will be punished for protecting the daughter promised by the Goddess Magia?” Ethnia said that on purpose, which frightened Loiston.
“You have no right to do that!” Aufrodine snapped, standing up from the chair. Her deputy also did the same thing. What the blue-eyed woman did did not affect Ethnia; she deliberately grinned, so the atmosphere became tense.
“Did you forget that the emperor gave the Healers special privileges to perform magick, even though they were not as skilled as the witches? Is this your form of thanks to us after I delivered the news you were waiting for? Well done!” A woman who worshiped the Goddess Erie seemed to challenge her interlocutor, which resulted in the silence of the two main administrators of the Ztatzav Orphanage.
“You are threatening us on purpose?!” Loiston snapped at Ethnia; this time, the Healer stood up and glared at the two guests who had appeared uninvited into the medical room. She was annoyed with the attitude of the two women because they always did whatever they wanted.
“Thank you for the insult you have given me, Madame Loiston. I will send what happened today to the Grand Physician so that he can pass it on to the emperor. It will not take long for you to be tortured by the palace messengers.” Ethnia did not accept the statement by the woman with the sharp nose and suddenly glared because she did not want something like that to happen to her and her colleague.
“You have crossed the line, Ethnia. You can’t do anything if you do not stay here!” Aufrodine also shouted at the woman who was in charge of the medical room at the orphanage. However, the gray-eyed woman only smiled sarcastically, which made Lenny and Apple’s guts shrink instantly.
“Go ahead. You two will see what will happen. I do not play games and be ready. Remember one thing: the Healers never ask for work, but ignorant mortals like you beg Mr. Gristz and ask each Zlatav orphanage to assign two Healers to them so that someone can help care for the sick.” The woman who had been silent all this time had changed her temperament because Aufrodine and Loiston had unfairly scolded her.
The two women were silent because everything said by the other person was true. Aufrodine and Loiston knew Ethnia’s seriousness, so they did not dare speak harshly to her again. Meanwhile, the Healer looked cynically at The Principle and her deputy, and the woman who was always disciplined in carrying out her duties in the medical room was very happy when she saw the worried expression of the Goddess Asiles’ devotee.
I want to see what can Aufrodine and Loiston do. If I have been more silent all this time, that does not mean I just accept their treatment. I am tired of being ordered around, let alone being pressured to give answers as soon as possible as they want, not to mention that both of them have dared to shout, even though they are not my superior. Ethnia still felt angry, but she tried to calm herself down because the girl saw the situation there and, at the same time, thought about the contents of the new report to the Great Doctor regarding the annoying actions of the two main administrators of the orphanage.
Aufrodine started to glance at his colleague, and Loiston, who felt this, took the same action. The two of them seemed to be conversing but using gestures, such as glances and changing expressions. Ethnia clearly saw what the two uninvited guests were doing, even though there was a height difference between them. However, that was not much of a hindrance, as the Healer was not very short.
After Aufrodine and Loiston had been acting like this for a long time, the blue-eyed woman was forced to divert her attention to Ethnia. The curvy woman watched the principal with a cold expression so that Lenny became reluctant to look at her. However, she still had to say something to the Healer so that his best friend and her would remain safe and not be subject to the emperor’s punishment, which was scary.
“Ethnia, I want to ask-”
