Tom Parker looked at Clare Parker in disbelief, “What have you done?”
“You don’t have proof that I did that,” Clare Parker said.
“Then I can only find Nick Cage,” Veronica Parker said with a kind face “What if I come to Nick Cage myself and tell him that you did it? If he heard that, who knows what you’ll be in the future, a dead person maybe?”
Everyone else’s faces had turned pale.
Veronica Parker told them without a doubt that Clare Parker was drugging her.
“Discuss it well with your family. I’m going somewhere first,” Veronica Parker said as she got up. She turned away as she didn’t plan to stay there any longer.
Sarah North was so angry that she smashed the teacup on the coffee table and its broken pieces fell all over the floor, “She really pisses me off!”
Clare Parker didn’t say a word. Sarah North hurriedly came towards her and said, “Don’t be too stupid and listen to her! You posted a video like that and you finally get other people’s sympathy. But now, the situation will turn around. If you come forward again, people will not only laugh at you but also scold you! People on the internet will hunt you!”
“If you will obey her, the most damage would be receiving hate from strangers,” Tom Parker said. “But if you don’t come forward, the company will be gone.”
“No!” Sarah North would do anything to protect her daughter’s reputation.
“What’s your decision? Don’t forget, we just lost 200 million dollars for liquidated damages from Toby Cage and now the company’s capital chain has not been fully made up. Besides, if Veronica Parker will get involved in it then there’s no use in going back to Z city, ” Tom Parker said. “We are insignificant in the eyes of Nick Cage! If he believed her then the whole North family will be ruined!”
Sarah North’s face changed, “What did you say? You can’t really let Clare go online to clarify that Rachel Hamilton’s was framed-up, can you? This is so suffocating!”
After she heard that, Clare Parker stood up and she left the living room without saying anything. She felt desperate and angry that Veronica Parker had enough connections to threaten her life and reputation.
As Sara North saw her daughter’s distress, she turned to Tom Parker and ordered, “Do something!”
“What should I do?”
“Why don’t you convince Veronica Parker? After all, she is your daughter. If you beg her, she will listen to you!” Sarah North said.
“Do you really think that she will listen to me?” Tom Parker asked in disbelief.
Sarah North’s words were stuck in her throat. She must do anything to protect Clare Parker.
Tom Parker arranged his eyeglasses before he left the living room and went upstairs.
Sarah North was anxious and angry.
Tom Parker, who went upstairs, glanced at Sarah North who was downstairs.
She just slapped him and now she’s begging him to mediate between Clare Parker and Veronica. Did she think that he was that easy?
He couldn’t wait for Clare Parker to have bad luck.
On the one hand, it could destroy Sarah North and if that happened then it could give him more power in the company.
Right now, people in the company were having problems with what happened to Clare Parker.
He thought that if he would add fuel to the flames then he could eventually get what he wanted.
Veronica Parker was sitting in the back seat of a car. She leaned her head beside the window before she decided to open it. She let her skin get exposed to the cold wind.
She felt a mixture of emptiness and comfort inside the car. There were only a few cars in the road and the moon shone brightly, lighting up her pretty face.
The driver has lowered the speed a little bit so the wind coming inside the car would not be too strong.
Veronica Parker was thinking deeply, ‘Should I go back to my apartment or Winter Villa?’
She hadn’t been in Winter Villa for a few days already.
But would it offend Nick Cage, if she suddenly went to Winter Villa?
After all, that man always had unexpected reactions. But one thing was for sure, he could be easily offended.
But why did she have to worry about Nick Cage’s reaction? She could go if she wanted to and wouldn’t go if she didn’t want to.
“Let’s go back to Winter Villa!” Veronica Parker said to the driver.

Veronica Parker got off from the car as they arrived at Winter Villa.
Winter Villa was as strict and extravagant as ever.
Veronica Parker walked into the hall and she saw Bob coming towards her. She then asked, “Where’s Nick Cage?”
“Mister Cage hasn’t come back yet!”
Veronica Parker looked at the time on her wristwatch. It was 08:30 at night and Nick Cage hadn’t come back yet.
What’s wrong with him? If he wouldn’t come back then he could at least let her know. If she knew about that then she would come to Winter Villa to accompany the children as soon as possible.
“Did the six little ones sleep already?” Veronica Parker asked.
“They just went to bed.”
Veronica Parker’s beautiful brow frowned slightly and suddenly she felt a little bored.
She didn’t know why she felt that way. It was not because she was not interested in the little ones but because something else was bothering her. It was as if she came back for another purpose besides seeing the six little ones.
Her own brain was distracting her and she was unsure about what she felt. But she knew that deep in her heart she only wanted to be with the six little ones.
She badly wanted to come back and looked at their little faces.
“I’ll go to their rooms and have a look,” before Veronica Parker had finished her words, the cell phone inside her bag rang. When she took it out, it was Nick Cage, “Hello?”
“Where are you?” Nick Cage’s low voice penetrated through.
“At Winter Villa,” Veronica Parker said. “You didn’t expect that answer, did you? Are you surprised?” After she had finished saying those words, Nick Cage remained silent for a few seconds so she continued, “What’s the matter? I came to see the six little ones. ”
“No, you will be staying in your apartment tonight.”
Veronica Parker was confused as she thought to herself, ‘Why didn’t he want her to stay at Winter Villa?’ His response was quite different from what she initially expected.
Didn’t Nick Cage have always wanted her to stay in Winter Villa? And if she said she didn’t want to then he would force her.
Why was he acting that way now?
Veronica Parker felt too surprised that she hung up the phone. She didn’t know what to tell him anymore.
His words confused her.
Did he not want her to see the six little ones, or did he not want to see her now?
“Miss Parker, is everything all right?” Bob asked when he saw that Veronica Parker didn’t look very well.
“Yes, I’m all right. Since the kids were already asleep. I’ll come next time!”
Bob was going to tell the six little ones that their mom was there as soon as they opened their eyes in the morning.
But Veronica Parker seemed to be in a bad mood after answering the phone. If he guessed it correctly, the caller should be Mister Cage.
What did Mister Cage tell her?
Veronica Parker went back to her apartment.
When she entered the door, she slammed it so hard because she felt very angry, “If I want to stay at Winter Villa then he wouldn’t let me stay there! Where does he want me to go? Did he not want me to be with the six little ones? What was he thinking?”
“Are you mad at me?” a low voice suddenly said. There was not a hint of dissent in the voice but it still shocked Veronica Parker, causing the backpacks she was carrying to fell on the ground.
She suddenly turned around and saw the man leaning lazily on the bathroom door. He was barely dressed and there was only a towel hanging around his waist which revealed Nick Cage’s chest and abdominal muscles. He looked wild and dangerous as he stared at her.
“I’m not mad at you,” Veronica Parker’s first reaction was to deny what she previously said. Besides, she had no idea that someone else was inside her apartment, “Why are you here? When did you come?”
“You are too slow-witted!” Nick Cage’s eyebrows furrowed slightly.
“Have you been waiting for me?” When Veronica Parker finished asking, she remembered that Nick Cage had called her and told her not to stay at Winter Villa.
Had he been waiting for her? Was that the reason he didn’t let her stay at Winter Villa? Did he want her to come into the apartment instead?
Veronica Parker didn’t know why but her heart that was recently filled with anger had started to feel more relaxed at that time.
“Why didn’t you just go back to Winter Villa? I have already arrived there,” she asked. She found it weird that when she was already in Winter Villa, Nick Cage decided to stay in her apartment instead.
