“The children are being noisy at home. They were always quarreling,” Nick Cage said as his eyebrows furrowed.
“They were noisy? Did you say that they were fighting? Why were they fighting? ” Veronica Parker is not convinced at all by Nick Cage’s reasons. She could hardly believe that their children were not well-behaved, “They were lovely! They wouldn’t fight”
Nick Cage stared at her with his deep dark eyes.
Veronica Parker suddenly ran out of strength as the almost naked Nick Cage walked closer to her that her face immediately felt heated.
The tall man suddenly pressed his body over Veronica Parker as he leaned for a kiss. She was stunned for a moment.
After he had let go, Veronica Parker asked blankly, “Nick, why did you kiss me? ”
Nick Cage dismissed her question and instead asked, “Why is your face so red. Did you drink?”
Veronica Parker took a few steps backward and her face became even redder, “Why would I go for a drink?”
Nick Cage turned around and went back to the room as if he hadn’t heard her.
“I’m going to get my clothes and take a shower.”
When the cupboard door opened, she was stunned. Her clothes were squeezed to one side of the cabinet and the other half contained men’s clothes.
A hand reached out from behind her, gently squeezing Veronica Parker’s body.
At the cabinet in front of her, Nick Cage took out some men’s pajamas and wore them. Nick Cage’s smell dominated the apartment and that disturbed Veronica Parker’s mind.
Veronica Parker turned around and she looked at Nick Cage who was in his pajamas and she asked with her voice filled with confusion, “Why are your clothes in my cabinet?”
There were not only pajamas there but also several sets of shirts and suits. There were also a few pairs of leather shoes at the bottom.
“Because I need to wear them,” Nick Cage replied with a sheepish smile.
Veronica Parker looked at him, what nonsense was he saying? She knew that those clothes were meant to be worn but why did he need to bring them to her apartment?
If his clothes were there, then did it mean that he was going to stay there for a long time? Did he want to own both Veronica Parker and her wardrobe?
“Go and take a bath,” Nick Cage said before he turned to the bed.
Veronica Parker looked at the man lying in her bed and her face flushed red.
“Don’t you want to take a bath?” Nick Cage’s black eyes narrowed slightly.
Veronica Parker took her clothes and she headed to the bathroom.
But before she opened the bathroom door she glanced at Nick Cage for a moment.
Veronica Parker blushed again at the thought of what might happen after she got out of that bathroom.
When she finally entered the bathroom, Veronica Parker looked at herself in the mirror. He was right, she indeed looked like she was drinking. Her face was hot as if she just drank a whole bottle of wine.
Veronica Parker was still very surprised that Nick Cage was in her apartment. When she used to see Nick Cage in front of her, she had always looked afraid. But now, that fear had watered down a little.
She looked at her face in the mirror for the second time. Why was she blushing?
Veronica Parker was frightened by her own thoughts.
She didn’t like Nick Cage, did she? It’s impossible. Otherwise, that was a terrible idea.
Veronica Parker placed her hands on her flushed and feverish face. She squeezed it lightly and her little mouth pouted pitifully.
She started to ask herself in the mirror, “Veronica, you didn’t like Nick Cage, did you? You’re only deeply connected with him because he was the father of your children, right?”
Indeed, it was just the feeling of being deeply connected, she finally told herself.
Veronica Parker took a bath, dressed up, and walked out of the bathroom. She glanced hastily at the room where Nick Cage was and decided to sit down on the sofa in the living room instead.
Before she could even enter the room, her heart felt like it was about to jump out of her chest.
The purpose of Nick Cage was so obvious that even the blind could feel it.
Now her room is like a cave of a wild beast and she would be swallowed as soon as she got in.
It was scary to even get close.
Veronica parker’s body shuddered.
“Come here,” Nick Cage called.
Veronica Parker looked over and saw the long figure that suddenly appeared at the door of the room which made her swallow subconsciously.
“I’ll give you the bed! I think it’s better for me to sleep here,” the word’s’ got stuck in her throat before it was spitting out.
She watched helplessly as Nick Cage walked towards her. As he approached her, he started to look both elegant and dangerous to her eyes.
“Wait a minute. I’m not sleepy yet,” Veronica Parker said when Nick Cage came closer to her.
“You’re not sleepy yet? Just the right time to do something meaningful then,” Nick Cage tilted her chin up and straddled her on the sofa.
Veronica Parker felt absolutely weak in front of Nick Cage.
“Nick, you are busy every day so you’d better take an early rest. You have to wake up early tomorrow.”
“I will rest early if —,” Nick Cage didn’t continue what he was about to say. His dark eyes were filled with danger.
Veronica Parker felt numb and the next second, she was easily picked up by Nick Cage who carried her straight to the room.
She used to be so afraid of Nick Cage touching her that she felt like she was being tortured every time.
But now it felt different.
He was certainly strong and domineering by nature. He loved to be the powerful one and take full control of everything, especially on her.
It was as if their soul were bound to be together.
Nick Cage breathed heavily and his face flushed a little. He closed his eyes and enveloped Veronica Parker in her arms. He showered her with kisses and looked at her with admiration.
When Veronica Parker woke up, it was 11:00 the next day.
If she was in Winter Villa with the six children then she couldn’t sleep at this time at all.
Veronica Parker was unable to move her body as she was held tightly by Nick Cage.
The dull pain in her body was all too familiar to her.
She looked up and Nick Cage was still asleep.
His slightly messy hair did not affect his handsome face. She was just stunned for a moment as she adored his high nose, thin lips, and calm sleeping face. She felt her heart was beating faster.
It seems that the feeling of being liked by him was not that bad but it was very different from the way she liked him.
Veronica Parker once thought that after she broke up with Toby Cage, she would never be with a man again. Never in her wildest dreams that she thought she would even have six children and a successful career.
She would never have expected that she would be entangled with the six little ones and their father.
Their connection had developed as time passed by.
Veronica Parker was in a trance when Nick Cage’s eyes opened unexpectedly and his dark eyes locked with Veronica Parker directly so she didn’t have time to dodge.
Veronica Parker hid her nervousness and moved his arms away from her body. She was stunned by his sudden stares, “Excuse me, I’m going to get up.”
“There’s no need to hurry” Nick Cage’s voice was slow and groggy.
“I’m hungry,” Veronica Parker reasoned.
She thought that she must have been starved too much by Nick Cage, otherwise, she won’t feel hungry.
“You’re not full yet?” Nick Cage’s dark eyes looked at her maliciously.
Veronica Parker blushed and she decided to stop talking to him so she could move out of the room.
However, her strength was nothing compared to Nick Cage. Her whole body felt sore that she could not break free at all!
“Well,” when Veronica Parker was competing with Nick Cage’s arm strength, his body pressed over her and he kissed her.
He held her and turned around so she was leaning against the bottom of the bed.
Nick Cage served Veronica Parker her lunch. And although she would not admit it, she was enjoying what Nick was serving her. He whispered a few words to her ears and that made her giggle.
Veronica Parker couldn’t almost get up.
She stared at the monster that was responsible for her aching body and secretly made faces towards Nick Cage.
He made it impossible for her to report to the TV station on time. She almost couldn’t go to the TV station in the afternoon.
