Peter and Isabella were not there. It was only the housekeeper Bob who dealt with Chloe Bowen.
Nick Cage and Veronica Parker presumed that such a scene was not suitable for the young children to see.
Chloe Bowen saw Nick Cage approaching together with Veronica Parker.
She could feel Nick Cage was displeased even from afar. But then, she knew that Veronica Parker and her six children were here so she had a little courage to come and visit them.
“What are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you not come here? What do you want people to think of you?” Nick Cage asked. Veronica Parker saw the rage on Nick Cage’s eyes, like he was about to attack Chloe Bowen. She stood in between and just told Chloe Bowen, “You better leave now.”
“I’m your real mother, Veronica!” Chloe Bowen responded.
“I’ve told you many times, I don’t really care. It doesn’t matter anymore.” Veronica replied and tried to lead her away from the door. If it hadn’t been for the fact that she was her own mother, she wouldn’t have said a word and just let Nick Cage handle it!
Nick Cage still looked furious. He was full of hatred towards Chloe Bowen. “Why should I go?” Chloe Bowen shook off Veronica Parker’s hand and decided to stay.
Veronica Parker’s face started to look serious. She was frustrated that Chloe Bowen insisted on staying despite the angry look on Nick Cage’s face. “I don’t care about anybody anymore except you. You are my daughter. I must deal with everything as much as I could.” Chloe Bowen added, and was unafraid of death.
The bodyguard came up and dragged Chloe Bowen away.
Chloe Bowen started struggling then shouted, “Let me go! I’m just here to ask for an explanation! There is no reason to drive me away!”
The bodyguard showed no mercy and quickly threw her out of the gate.
Veronica Parker was shocked by what happened. She could’ve believe what she saw.
Even after Chloe Bowen was kicked out of the property, Nick Cage’s mood was unchanged. His eyes were still so serious and that frightened Veronica Parker.
“Go in.” Nick Cage instructed Veronica Parker.
Veronica Parker slightly froze. She didn’t know how to react. Then she finally came into her senses and went inside as instructed by Nick Cage. Nick Cage stayed outside with his bodyguard and just waited for her to go inside. Then with an angry tone he asked his bodyguard, “Who among you allowed Chloe Bowen to go inside? And who among you allowed Veronica Parker to go? I specifically gave you instructions about her. Didn’t I?” His angry voice resonated to the whole compound.
Veronica Parker even heard his voice even though she was already inside the house.
His face was so angry and his bodyguards were so frightened of him.
A bodyguard came forward. His head bowed and his voice was trembling, “M… Mr. Cage, she said she was just… ”
-Before the bodyguard could even finish his words, Nick Cage stepped forward and kicked him. He was extremely angry and could not control his actions. Nick Cage immediately took an action and dealt with the situation. He took out his cell phone and dialed a number. “Keep an eye on Veronica Parker’s whereabouts.” He said coldly.
“As you wish” The man from the other line responded.
Nick Cage just called Kay Tours.
Even though Veronica Parker was inside the hall, she could still hear the screams of the bodyguards.
She was frightened. Her body trembled again.
That evening, she experienced several frightening events. She even wondered if it will ever end.
Nick Cage already blurted out his rage over his bodyguards. Now she wondered if it was her turn then to absorb all of his remaining anger.
Veronica Parker thought to herself that only the six children would be spared by Nick Cage’s frightening mood.
She thought again about Chloe Bowen. She couldn’t seem to understand how she had the courage to go to Nick Cage’s house. She even thought that Chloe Bowen might be seeking for a death wish.
Did she ever thought that Nick Cage was a nice person? The children were playing at the elevator when Veronica Parker came. They wanted to continue playing but when they saw her, their faces lit up and were full of smiles. And all together they shouted with so much joy, “Mom!!!” The kids rushed towards her and they all jumped and hugged her.
Veronica Parker regained herself and looked at her children with so much joy. They had gentle yet extraordinary expressions of love towards her and it overly reflected in their eyes. She squatted to meet and hugged and every one of them. She was so happy to see them too. She was too frightened the whole evening. But upon seeing them, she was ecstatic.
“Mom!” The kids swooped into Veronica Parker’s arms one after the other, and Daniel was the last one because he was the slowest.
The children were too excited to hug her so she was then pushed back.
Just as she was about to fall to the ground, there was a force coming from her back, which directly supported her whole body.
Veronica Parker was stunned. She turned around then looked back and saw Nick Cage’s deep black eyes.
The warm touch and strong strength of his palms supported her back, and he held the weight of her whole body with one hand. But not only her weight, but also the six little children clinging onto her.
What an imaginable strength. Veronica Parker was in awe.
Veronica Parker withdrew her eyes, stabilized her body, and focused on her children.
“Mom, when did you come back?” Cathy asked happily.
“I just arrived. What are you doing?” Veronica Parker touched their little faces and asked.
“We’re play with the elevator!” Peter joyfully responded.
“Did you have fun?” Veronica Parker asked with a smile.
Julie said, “Fun?”
Then Josh said, “Mom is fun.”
Veronica Parker was deeply moved by their loving actions and words for her. She couldn’t say anything and just smile.
Lily hugged Veronica Parker’s arm then asked, “Mom, do you have to work overtime? Lily hates it when Mom is working overtime!”
Daniel listened attentively, then nodded with approval, “Me too!”
Veronica Parker smiled. She leaned forward and cheerfully said, “I won’t work overtime today. Mom will stay and sleep with all of you tonight. Sounds like a good plan?” “Are we going to sleep with Daddy and Mom?” Cathy asked with her big shining eyes.
Before Veronica Parker could say any word, Julie raised her hands and agreed, “Sleep together!”
Josh agreed also, “Sleep together.”
Daniel’s round little face was full of excitement, “Please Mom?” Daniel pleaded.
Veronica Parker was lost for words. She didn’t know how to respond to such excitement of her kids. She doesn’t want to be the one to spoil it.
Sleep with Nick Cage? In her mind, she doesn’t want to sleep with him. She thought it was just a ridiculous idea.
She wanted to avoid the idea of sleeping with him again.
So she changed the subject and asked, “Have you eaten yet?”
“No not yet” Peter replied. It was only Peter who responded.
“Then you should have your dinner first.” Veronica Parker said.
“Mom will eat with us.” Cathy got so excited.
“Oh I’m sorry kids, Mom has already eaten. But you can still have dinner with your Dad. You go ahead. Mom will stay here while you kids have your dinner..” Veronica Parker responded then stood up. When she turned around and walked outside, she was caught on the wrist by Nick Cage. His firm strength made her frown and she stared at him.
“What are you doing?” She asked him with an annoyed tone.
“Have you eaten?” Nick Cage asked as he stared at her.
“You saw the noodles that I ate earlier.” She reminded her the incident.
Although the soup spilled on her thigh, she was also able to some of it. And she of course, she didn’t want to eat with Nick Cage.
But before she could even realize what was happening, Nick Cage dragged her to the restaurant.
She weren’t able to struggle that much because the children were there. She didn’t want to cause direct people’s attention towards her. She finally gave in and just went to the restaurant.
Peter chased after them like a little penguin, bouncing around, and was very happy.
The eight of them sat on one dinner table like a happy family.
They were fortunate enough to have been seated all together.
The table which they occupied was all made of gold. Veronica Parker’s eyes were in awe when she looked at it.
She figured that it was probably an antique furniture, which mostly likely costs too much. She might be a little stressed early that evening but she couldn’t deny her appreciation for such a lovely furniture. “Mom, eat this.” There was piece of meat in Daniel’s small spoon. He leaned towards Veronica Parker and offered to feed her.
Veronica Parker smiled, opened her mouth and ate the meat. “Well, it’s delicious!”
Daniel blushed with excitement.
“I want to do that too!” Lily next to her dug up a piece of meat with a spoon and handed it to her mouth.
Veronica Parker complied and ate it as well. She felt so happy every time she’s with her children. She would give in to their whims and her heart would drown with so much gladness. She hasn’t been like this for a long time.
Veronica Parker ate the meat the kids offered to her. She ate six meat all in all.
“Daddy, eat meat too!” Lily fed Nick Cage with a spoon.
Nick Cage was surprised and froze.
Veronica Parker looked over and saw that Nick Cage’s face tightened and looked at the spoon in front of him.
He froze as if it wasn’t a delicacy. Rather, a bomb that might explode on his face anytime.
He looked as if he would refuse his child.
Veronica Parker acted quickly and interrupted them. Otherwise, Peter would cry and that might ruin the wonderful evening.
