Nick Cage was unmoved and sneered. “You think I’ll save you?”
Veronica Parker’s hand fell feebly, and she knew it was in vain to ask Nick Cage for help.
How could he save her?
He wants her dead.
But she can’t die. She has six children. How can she die and abandon her little treasures?
Veronica struggled to get up. However, her asthma made it impossible to at least move, it only made her feel worse.
She sat down by the door again, clutched her chest, and gasped for breath. Veronica felt so sick that she was sure that she was about to die.
She grabbed Nick’s leg again and burst into tears. “Let me go.”
She can’t die, she can’t ignore the babies that are dependent on her.
“Let you go?” Nick looked at her coldly, then turned away. Veronica lost her grip that clutched his trousers, she was extremely helpless.
Nick went to the window, stood still then took out his cell phone and called out someone. “Call Tracy Dora, there’s a patient here.”
Is that a doctor? Veronica can’t believe he managed to call for help.
‘Why is Nick Cage suddenly willing to save her again?’
While Veronica Parker was breathing painfully, his shadow hovered again. Nick, half squatting in front of her, emitted an aura of strong danger as he menacingly warned her.
“If I find out you’re playing me, you’ll never walk out of this door for the rest of your life!”
Speechless, Veronica Parker leaned against the door. Her eyes closed and gasped for breath.
Nick Cage looked at her coldly, and when Tracy Dora came over he knew he’d discover the truth. He was in no hurry. Tracy Dora was the attending doctor of Nick Cage’s mother, a former doctor, and now the director of the hospital.
Tracy Dora was summoned by Nick Cage for the first time since his mother died. It seems that he was in a hurry.
So, she came immediately with tools while she was still in the hospital. She doesn’t know who is waiting for treatment.
Anyway, it can’t be from the Cage family. She’s the one who knows best that Nick and the Cage family fell out to the point that Nick severed his ties with them.
Tracy Dora dared not to delay and appeared right away in the luxury hotel in the shortest possible time.
She knocked on the door.
Nick Cage picked up Veronica Parker directly, turned, and walked to the sofa. In a low cold voice, he permitted. “Come in.”
When Tracy Dora went in, she saw a girl other than Nick that was on the sofa, who gasped for breath feebly and painfully.
While Nick Cage stood by, his face cold and stiff.
Tracy Dora dared not to hesitate any longer and went forward to check on the girl’s condition.
Maiden-looking, beautiful, graceful, and has a snow-white complexion, if such a girl appeared around Nick Cage, it would always make people think in that way, right?
Moreover, this is a romantic suite, and the girl’s collar was obviously torn off.
Tracy looked at the symptoms, right then and there she determined that it was asthma. She took out the Ventolin Inhaler spray she brought in her kit. “Come on, open your mouth.”
Veronica opened her mouth and Dra. Tracy sprayed the medicine into her mouth and said. On the count of three, you must inhale hard. One, two, three.”
On the count of three, Tracy sprayed the medicine. Veronica sucked in her breath hard and inhaled all the medicine into her lungs.
The doctor repeated it three times.
It took a few minutes for Veronica’s breath to return normal and stabilized. Her whole energy seemed to come back to life. She looked at Dra. Tracy. “Thank you.” She said softly.
“Do you have asthma? Don’t you usually bring medicine?” Tracy asked.
Veronica Parker looked down and pursed her lips but said nothing, no one knew what she was thinking at that moment.
Nick Cage looked aghast. “Are you sure she has asthma?”
As soon as Tracy heard this, she knew that Nick Cage was suspicious and that things were not simple.
She stood up and answered him. “Then, she’ll have to go to the hospital for an examination.”
As soon as Veronica Parker heard that she was ordered by a physician to go to the hospital for an examination, she hurriedly stood up and took a few steps back. “I’m not going! I’m going home!”
However, her reaction in Nick’s eyes baffled him. There was gnawing guilt in his conscience, which made his face as cold as ice.
“Check her up for me!”
“I’m not going!” Veronica firmly refused that she is not going to the hospital. She doesn’t have asthma at all. She can’t be examined even if she was prescribed to go there.
“It’s not up to you!” Nick Cage walked to the door, passed Veronica, grabbed her by the wrist, and forcefully led her out of the suite.
“Don’t. Nick let me go!” Veronica struggled.
But how can her strength compete with Nick Cage? The more she struggled, the more painful her wrist felt as if the bones were about to be crushed.
Finally, she was dragged out of the suite by Nick Cage.
Tracy was shocked to see the scene.
‘What is Nick Cage doing? What did this girl do to make Nick Cage so out of control?’ Tracy Dora dared not to talk and immediately followed.
They headed to the ground floor. Outside the hotel, Nick’s car is waiting. His black Maserati was in the dark color, expensive and intimidating to look at. The bodyguard stood upright with his hands behind his back.
“Let me go, I don’t want to go to the hospital.” Veronica Parker doesn’t want to get in the car.
At this time, another car galloped along. The driver slammed on the brakes next to them, and the tires of the sports car made a loud screech and shrill sound on the road.
Then, they saw Toby Cage get out of the car and walked up to their way.
Veronica Parker didn’t expect Toby to show up.
She wasn’t sure if he came here on purpose, or if it was a pure coincidence.
So, is Toby here to turn the tables around?
Veronica’s selfishness hoped that the emergence of Toby would work on her terms.
Sadly, it seemed that he’s not there to save her.
“What a coincidence? I’m going to stay here at night.” Toby’s eyes swept across Nick’s hand that clutched on Veronica’s wrist. It seems that nothing happened between the two. Otherwise, they wouldn’t come out in such a short time. His mood is unfathomable. He withdrew his sight but the expression etched on his face did not change. “What’s the matter?” Where are you going? ”
the moment that he finished his queries, Toby saw Tracy came out from behind.
‘Tracy Dora? She’s Nick’s mother’s attending physician. Why is she here?’ Toby flashed his emotions vaguely and asked. “Are you going to the hospital?”
Nick only glanced at him coldly, then grabbed Veronica into the car, and he went in again. The door closed and the car drove away.
Dra. Tracy got into her own car and left.
Toby Cage looked into the distance and his face darkened.
Veronica sat by the door with a pale face and twinkling eyes, and there was a distinct red mark around her fair wrist. The moment that she was released from his brutal touch and was caused by the strength of Nick’s grip.
The atmosphere in the car was extremely oppressive, and she felt at once the cold temperature drilled straight into her body.
“Once you get in my car, you can’t get off. You have to go to the hospital for an examination. Even if you say that you don’t have asthma, it’s useless.
Nick will definitely look at the results, and she dared not think about what will happen next. Veronica was frightened of the moment that the results would appear in front of him.
Even with her head down, Veronica Parker could feel the terrible gloom in Nick Cage’s eyes, as if she were in danger waiting to tear her up at any time.
When they arrived at the hospital, Veronica was forced to undergo various examinations while Nick Cage just sat and waited with well-trained bodyguards stood outside the room as if no one was allowed to enter.
Toby Cage followed and lurked in a nearby corner.
He doesn’t understand what’s going on.
‘Examine Veronica? What’s her problem?’ Outside the hotel, he did not see any trauma on Veronica’s body, nor did he see any internal injuries.
Tracy came over to finish a series of tests as quickly as possible and wanted to report to Nick Cage.
Nick lost patience and his voice was cold. “Just say it.”
“No asthma.”
Nick slowly raised his head and stepped back. Horror was evident in his eyes as he stared darkly at the eyes of Veronica behind Dra. Tracy. His gaze has no trace of temperature.
The atmosphere around them made people feel like they were thrown in an ice cellar in an instant.
