Veronica Parker withdrew her eyes and pretended that she didn’t see him.
Then she looked away, scanned the crowd to find Nick Cage.
Fortunately, she didn’t see him after she turned around and searched for his familiar face.
It seems that Nick is really not coming as Chloe said.
She was really freaked out by herself, too.
How could Nick Cage be here? He severed ties with the Cage family.
The people in the banquet hall must have doubted her identity, but no one dared to ask. Even if they didn’t ask, they would almost know who she was.
Yet, it looks like Chloe and Kevin don’t care.
“Elder Sister!” John sprang out.
Veronica bowed her head and looked at a small figure of John. She looked at the baby’s fat face, fleshy, and looked dashing with a suit and his big round eyes.
“Elder sister, are you here to see me?”
“Well, it’s up to you.”
John’s little face flushed with excitement.
Veronica Parker thought what a sweet child he is. With such a short reply, he became happy in the twinkling of an eye.
There was a commotion outside the door and even Veronica felt the disbelief and astonishment of onlookers outside through the glass.
The glass is a little reflective and she can’t really see what’s going on. What she only saw was that there was a big hoard of people outside, and the amazement of people who are close to the inner hall of the hotel was evident.
Veronica thought for a while. ‘Who’s here? Are there any other big shots not present?’
However, Veronica Parker turned white with fear when she saw the handsome brooding figure that came in, and her body staggered back uncontrollably.
‘That’s Nick. I thought he’s not coming. Why did he come here?’
Not only Veronica was surprised, even the birthday celebrant Kevin and Chloe next to her were shocked.
Some of the people present recognized him as the person in charge of the KING Group, while others did not.

“Nick, are you really here?” Kevin Cage was surprised. He didn’t expect that Nick would show up at his birthday party unannounced

Nick’s face was expressionless. His eyes turned slightly and it fell on Veronica Parker next to him. She was suffocated by the sharpness and the falcon-like eyes of Nick. Veronica’s face was a little pale. She dared not look at Nick’s face at all.
“Who is this woman?” Nick asked as if he had met Veronica Parker for the first time.
Kevin hesitated. After all, he’s afraid that Nick would be unhappy, but thought about it and answered him truthfully. “This is Chloe’s daughter, Veronica Parker. She currently works in your KING Group. Maybe you haven’t noticed her. ”
Nick walked up to where Veronica is, and his tall figure stood there. Veronica suddenly felt that the air around her became thin, making it difficult for her to breathe.
Her hands-on side trembled. She was so nervous and was so scared that made her sweat.
Then, Nick Cage in full view of the public reached out and grabbed Veronica Parker’s chin wantonly. He looked at her viciously. “I didn’t notice such a beautiful face.”
As she trembled with fear, Veronica stepped back and ran away without looking at anyone.
Nick slowly put down his hand, and the coldness in his black eyes almost dropped as cold as the ice.
Veronica Parker ran out of the hotel hall with her long skirt that flowed majestically. She ran to the road in a long way, and then stopped when she was about to collapse.
There’s a lot of confusion in her head.
The terrible black eyes Nick stared at her that made her scalp numb and chill.
She was bewildered why Nick showed up. ‘Didn’t my mother say he wouldn’t show up?’
The car galloped over and stopped beside her. Before Veronica could react, she saw the person inside appear gloomily.
She was so scared that she turned around and attempted to run, but before she could run a few steps, she was caught and thrown into the car.
In the presidential suite of a hotel.
“Ah!” Veronica Parker was carried like a sack and thrown in by Nick and fell on the carpet.
The pain from the friction on her knee made her tremble slightly and she desperately tried to stand up, but her legs were weak.
She saw Nick Cage sat on the sofa with his impassive face raised haughtily. His legs folded, cigarette lit, and a lighter snapped, all of which shook Veronica Parker’s heart.
Nick took a puff of his cigarette as if he were forcibly suppressed something.
A low and raspy voice resonated that made her chill. “Take off your clothes by yourself, or do you want me to help you take them off myself?”
Veronica’s fingers on the ground convulsed uncontrollably, and her face turned a little pale. She forced herself to steady her voice. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to lie to you. I didn’t know my mother was here until I came to the capital, and she married into the Cage family. I know you severed your relationship with the Cage family, so I offered to resign because you wouldn’t let me go.”
Nick Cage stared at her and his black eyes dilated. “Do you want me to take it off for you?”
Veronica hurriedly tried to explain. “My mother is not what you think she is. The gossip is false, it’s just a misunderstanding!”
Nick, full of hostility, threw away his cigarette and got up.
Frightened, Veronica Parker stood up as she turned around and ran to the door.
“Ah!” How could Veronica be faster than Nick? He was endowed with long legs and even if she had an advantage at first, she wouldn’t win against him. She was caught by Nick and was slammed against the door.
“Oh!” Veronica Parker’s back hurt. Her body trembled, and she frowned and endured the ache. “Don’t do this, Nick.”
“If you want to die, I’ll do it for you.” Nick Cage said coldly.
Veronica Parker trembled and pushed him hard, but Nick was so strong that he did not move an inch.
‘She’s not innocent, too. Isn’t she?’ Livid with his thoughts, Nick remained silent as he angrily looked at her.
“Why should you blame me? What did I do wrong? My parents divorced when I was young. No one wanted me. My grandmother is the one who raised me. I didn’t meet Chloe until more than ten years later. I didn’t get anything from her. Do I have to bear this kind of guilt and humiliation? For what reason?” Veronica asked angrily.
“Not anything from her? That bitch didn’t buy your clothes? She gave you a bank card. What, you still have the audacity in pretending to be innocent in front of me? Is it because you can’t be satisfied and crave more money? Huh?” Nick grabbed her by the chin. “You like to be in the Cage family so much, so why don’t you listen to me?”
Veronica’s brow frowned painfully, and the tears swirled and swelled up around the corners of her eyes. He continued to harass her as if Nick would break the bones of her jaw with a little more effort.
“You bastard. Go away!” Veronica Parker pushed Nick Cage’s chest with one hand but couldn’t make him budge away. Her other hand grabbed Nick Cage’s arm and tried to let him let go of her jaw, but it was in vain. Instead, she was all the more frightened by the strength of his arms.
Nick Cage looked at her viciously, raised his hand, and tore the collar off her shoulder.
“Ah!” She screamed in horror.
It was a shoulder-like collar and the moment he pulled and tore it off, her chest was almost exposed. The milky complexion she had and ample breast was exposed.
“Go! Go away!” Veronica’s hand immediately clasped her chest and trembled. “Why are you doing this to me? What’s wrong with you, Nick? There’s something wrong with your mind! Do you think everyone wants your fucking money?” Veronica Parker rebelled angrily.
“I want you to die!” Nick suddenly let go of her jaw, swung his fist, and threw it directly at Veronica’s pale face.
“Ah!” Veronica Parker shouted in horror and hugged her head as if she tried to defend her life.
With a bang, his fist grazed Veronica in the ear. The shock almost penetrated her eardrum that made her heart seem to stop at that moment. Fear engulfed every cell in her body.
She opened her eyes with a shudder. Suddenly, she experienced a little shortness of breath. Veronica’s chest felt stuffy and her face was pale without a trace of blood.
“Tell me again!” The gloomy and ferocious voice of Nick Cage boomed right in her ear.
Veronica couldn’t speak. She found it hard to breathe. Nick was worried for a moment when he realized that something was obviously wrong.
Nick’s obsidian-colored eyes narrowed. “Don’t act in front of me.”
She shook her head feebly, slid down, and sat on the ground while she clutched her chest and gasped in pain.
Nick Cage stood in front of her, in a condescending tone he asked her. “Do you have asthma?”
Veronica Parker closed her eyes. Even if she tried to open it, she was having a hard time. All of her strength was spent on breathing. She felt excruciating pain as she gasped for breath hard. She reached out and grabbed Nick’s trouser leg and uttered two words sadly and with difficulty. “Save me…”
