Chapter 447: No Need to Sign a Contract!

Charlotte composed herself, touched up her makeup, and returned to work. However, she remained distracted. No matter what, she would never give up her child; she would rather face Quentin in court.
After a while, there was a knock on the door.
“Come in,” Charlotte said, trying to mask her emotions and appear calm. She couldn’t let her colleagues see her vulnerable side.
Nash entered, followed by Quentin.
“What are you doing here again?” Charlotte’s recently calmed emotions flared up upon seeing Quentin.
“I don’t agree with your collaboration,” Quentin said coldly.
Nash had informed Quentin about the cooperation he had discussed with Charlotte the previous night. Although Quentin didn’t want to meddle in Charlotte’s affairs, Time Group was acquired by Virginia for his sake. He knew what Nash was scheming and couldn’t stand by idly.
“Even if you helped acquire Time Group through your friends, as a director of the company, how I manage its operations is none of your business.”
Thinking of how Time Group was acquired by Virginia, her rival, and how they had tricked her into becoming a director, Charlotte felt even more furious.
“Exactly, Quentin. My collaboration with Charlotte is our business. If I can help her, why are you being so unreasonable?”
“Besides, you don’t have that much money. The Howard family has long been in decline.”
Seeing Charlotte present, Nash spoke more boldly, knowing Quentin wouldn’t dare do anything to him.
“Shut up. If you mention the Howard family again, I’ll tear your mouth apart!”
“Charlotte, I helped you acquire this company. Even if I’m not a shareholder, shouldn’t you at least discuss finding a partner with me? And you, an outsider, should mind your own business. Otherwise, don’t blame me for being rude.”
Quentin’s words were authoritative, and Nash didn’t dare retort, fearing another beating from Quentin. But Nash was secretly pleased; the angrier Quentin got, the more irrational he became. This would only make Charlotte trust him less and fuel her rebellious spirit.
“I’ll find someone to collaborate with you for the company’s operational funds. You don’t need to worry about it. I’ll find a reliable partner for you.”
Quentin looked at Charlotte with a commanding tone.
“Hah, Quentin, can you stop being so unrealistic? Can you stop bragging?”
“The money your parents left you is far from enough to run the company. Please stop interfering with my work.”
“Can you just be realistic and see your situation clearly?”
Charlotte berated Quentin. Although he had helped her a lot, she never believed he had much capability. She thought he was just lucky sometimes and often acted impulsively, causing her concern.
Quentin ignored Charlotte and picked up the phone to call Clark.
“Hah, you’re just pretending by making a phone call. Let’s see what you can do,” Nash thought disdainfully.
“Hello, Mr. Holland. What can I do for you?” Clark, in his office at Spicurity Group, answered immediately upon seeing Quentin’s call, afraid of offending this big shot.
“I recently acquired Time Group and have the Heavenly Fragrance Collection. To develop new products using beauty formulas, I need your company to invest some funds for our operations.”
“Mr. Holland, no need to be so formal. Just name the amount, and I’ll have someone transfer it to you immediately.”
Clark dared not refuse Quentin’s request. Besides, this collaboration was a win-win for him; it was an honor that Quentin considered him.
“Two hundred million,” Quentin said calmly.
“Alright, Mr. Holland. I’ll arrange it right away. If it’s not enough, feel free to ask for more.”
Clark agreed politely, and Quentin hung up the phone.
“Someone will bring the investment contract shortly. Just wait here.”
“And in the future, ensure that any investors are trustworthy; otherwise, you might get betrayed without knowing it.”
“If you don’t believe me, you can try.”
“This is the last time I’ll help you. From now on, whatever you do is none of my concern.”
Quentin’s words were cold and forceful as he turned to leave.
“Quentin, you!” Charlotte stomped her foot in anger. She was half-skeptical but had no choice but to wait with Nash in the office. If Quentin was bluffing, she could still collaborate with Nash without telling him.
For her, fifty million would be enough for the company’s initial operations.
In less than half an hour, two men in formal attire arrived, wearing Spicurity Group badges.
“Miss Pittman, hello. Mr. Wilson instructed us to discuss collaboration with Time Group.”
“Hello, please have a seat,” Charlotte greeted them and offered tea.
Seeing they were from Spicurity Group, Charlotte was surprised. Could this be Quentin’s arrangement?
“This is Nash from Marblegate Group’s Striudan branch,” Charlotte introduced Nash.
“Hello, nice to meet you!” Nash shook hands with both men.
Spicurity Group was one of the top groups in Stresall with assets worth billions; how could Nash not recognize their status?
“Miss Pittman, let’s get straight to the point. Our chairman asked us to personally deliver this check to you. You can cash it anytime. We hope for a pleasant collaboration with your group. If there’s nothing else, we’ll take our leave.”
One of the Spicurity Group representatives handed Charlotte a check for two hundred million dollars. Charlotte was stunned; two hundred million without even drafting a contract?
“But about the contract…”
Charlotte began but was interrupted.
“Our chairman said there’s no need for a contract when collaborating with Mr. Holland. We’ll be going now.”
“Oh, alright.” Charlotte then instructed her staff to see them out.
Charlotte and Nash were still in shock. Two hundred million dollars of investment without even signing a contract because of Quentin?
How did Quentin manage this?
