No matter how Quentin managed it, the $200 million far exceeded the company’s operational budget. Despite her astonishment, Charlotte regained her composure.
She felt a bit guilty. Although Quentin had just treated her so harshly, hadn’t she also doubted him and hurt his feelings? Yet again, Quentin had come to her aid.
“Charlotte, since you already have $200 million, why not add my $100 million to speed up the company’s operations?” Nash interrupted Charlotte’s thoughts.
“No need, Nash. The $200 million is more than enough.”
“I appreciate your kindness. You’ve always spent time and effort thinking about our family,” Charlotte replied, snapping back to reality.
“It’s nothing. It’s what I should do. We’re family, after all,” Nash said with a forced smile.
“Since that’s the case, I hope you can use this fund to grow the company step by step.”
“I will. Thank you for coming today, Nash. It must have been tiring for you.”
“I’m going to get busy now. There are many plans and strategies to work on for the company’s operations. If there’s nothing else, you should go home and rest,” Charlotte said, busy as ever in her role as chairwoman.
“Alright then, Charlotte. I’ll leave you to your work. See you another day.”
After saying goodbye to Charlotte, Nash left the Time Group building.
“Damn you, Quentin. You got lucky today and managed to show off successfully.”
“Damn it, I’m so pissed!”
“How did he do it? How could a loser like him get Spicurity Group to cooperate with him and trust him so much? Damn it…”
Nash’s heart was filled with hatred for Quentin.
With the $200 million in place, Charlotte gained recognition from the group’s shareholders for her strength and status.
Time passed, and Charlotte devoted herself entirely to her work. Under her leadership, Time Group began developing a new beauty product called Fallen Fish and gradually got back on track. The company’s stock started to rise with each piece of good news.
Nash occasionally visited Charlotte’s home but didn’t dare help with picking up the kids. Emma always did it herself because Nash feared Quentin would beat him up again if he found out.
Emma kept trying to match Nash and Charlotte, but Charlotte always used her busy schedule as an excuse to avoid Emma’s efforts. Deep down, Charlotte still hoped to reconcile with Quentin, despite everything he had done to her.
Quentin stayed with the Howard family, instructing Eileen to prepare for the custody battle over the two children.
A week later, amidst the bright lights and bustling streets of Stresall, Eileen had completed all preparations for Quentin’s court battle for custody. Quentin knew that with Charlotte’s personality, she would definitely fight for custody in court.
But given his status and connections, Quentin was determined to win this case.
Quentin and Eileen drove to Charlotte’s house. They planned to discuss the children’s custody with her first, even though they knew it would be futile. Quentin still hoped to avoid a court battle with Charlotte.
No matter what conditions Charlotte proposed, as long as she agreed to give up custody of the children, Quentin would meet any demands within his power.
However, the chances of this outcome were almost zero. For Charlotte, the children were her lifeline after five years of raising them alone. She couldn’t imagine living without them and wouldn’t give them up under any circumstances.
Although this decision pained Quentin deeply, he would never allow Nash to raise his children!
When they arrived at Charlotte’s house, Quentin and Eileen entered together.
Charlotte had already returned from work and was sitting in the living room with her family. Nash sat beside her.
Quentin’s expression remained cold as ice. His face was covered in stubble, making him look less spirited but more worn and deep.
Seeing Quentin arrive at night, Charlotte knew why he was there.
She couldn’t understand why this man had changed so much in just a week.
He had falsely accused her and found a new lover. Yet now, he looked like the victim?
Charlotte felt a pang in her heart. Despite everything they had been through together, seeing Quentin like this still made her feel bad.
