Chapter 509: Relying on Him to Make the Final Decision?

“Who is this?” Jada’s face darkened as she saw Flynn’s rudeness and turned to Rose for an answer.
The other five middle-aged men also turned their heads, frowning.
“He is my friend, Flynn,” Rose introduced calmly.
“Oh?” Jada narrowed her eyes slightly and asked, “Is this young man very important to Ms. Sharp? Important enough to bring him to such a significant occasion?”
She didn’t mind Rose bringing someone along. After all, today’s banquet was not only about forcing Maximo out of Niarak but also about helping Rose solve her problems. However, it was puzzling that Rose chose to bring Flynn instead of other partners like Edwin or Orion.
Flynn didn’t even look thirty. His attire, demeanor, and casual attitude didn’t suggest he was someone who could stand on his own in a powerful family.
Rose smiled slightly. “Very important. He might be the one to make the final decision today.”
The development of the Sharp’s Group had reached a point where Flynn had become Rose’s greatest reliance. Her only reliance. Although she didn’t want to be enemies with the Eight Extremities School, if today’s problem with Maximo wasn’t resolved, she would have no choice but to confront him directly. There was no other path for her.
“Relying on him to make the final decision?” Jada sneered and shook her head.
The others also chuckled but remained silent. To them, rebutting such childish remarks would be beneath their dignity. If Flynn were an elder or a mature and steady middle-aged man, they might have believed it a little. But seeing such a young man, no matter how capable he might be, they couldn’t believe he could make a decisive impact on behalf of the Eight Extremities School.
As everyone looked on mockingly, Kendal, who had been silent until now, spoke up indifferently:
“Mr. Clark is associated with God of War.”
“Perhaps Ms. Sharp thinks that if the negotiations don’t meet expectations, she can have God of War intervene.”
“Don’t underestimate Mr. Clark; he’s a Semi-Grandmaster and the chief instructor of the Blade Special Forces!”
She seemed to be praising Flynn, but everyone could hear the underlying tone: three parts disdain, three parts coldness, and four parts mockery.
What does being a Semi-Grandmaster matter? In this society, connections, status, and strength are what count. How could a lone young man compare to her?
It’s like saying-no matter how strong you are in a fight, I can still call in someone stronger to help me; in the end, you’re still doomed.
Moreover, Kendal believed that Flynn becoming the chief instructor of the Blade Special Forces must have been due to God of War’s influence. She looked down on people like Flynn-merely servants of God of War.
Indeed, one should consider the master before hitting the dog, but what if even the master doesn’t dare offend those who hit his dog? Would he really turn against others for a mere dog?
Kendal was confident that God of War wouldn’t dare offend her lightly because her backing was the Eight Extremities School.
“God of War’s person? Haha… He’s not having an easy time lately! I heard he’s returning to Niarak tomorrow.”
“Rumor has it that he’s been accused of abusing his power for personal gain, amassing over a hundred billion dollars in benefits.”
“There’s also gossip that God of War has an ambiguous relationship with Ms. Sharp and has helped her several times. Too bad! No wall is impermeable; this time he’s fallen hard…”
The five guest advisors discussed contemptuously. To them, God of War was about to fall from grace; what did it matter if Flynn was his man? He wasn’t worth a second glance!
Rose listened without commenting but couldn’t help smiling slightly at their words. She hadn’t expected the God of War smokescreen to fool people in Niarak so thoroughly. But thinking carefully about it, it wasn’t surprising. Flynn’s actions were so astonishing that even she was repeatedly left speechless by his feats-a testament to his terrifying strength.
Yet Flynn was precisely the kind of person who appeared casual and unassuming-a former prisoner abandoned by the Clark family. Who would associate all these achievements with him?
However, when God of War arrived in Niarak tomorrow and publicly declared no connection with her, everyone would surely be shocked out of their wits. Flynn would then make a stunning impression; even Layla would be surprised.
Flynn wasn’t concerned about all this; he just found the attitudes of those from Eight Extremities School annoying.
Hadn’t Ronald been kept in check for two years? Were his subordinates so arrogant that they’d forgotten themselves?
“Is Ronald still in East Sea?” Flynn asked Kendal with narrowed eyes.
Jada and the others’ faces darkened when they heard Flynn addressing their leader by name so casually; cold glints flashed in their eyes.
Kendal crossed her legs and leaned back on the sofa, playing with a teacup without looking up as she replied:
“Yes, the leader is in seclusion at East Sea and will soon reach Grandmaster peak!”
Rose couldn’t help but be surprised at this revelation-Grandmaster peak? Cruz was only at mid-level Great Grandmaster. If Ronald reached peak level, Eight Extremities School’s reputation would soar even higher. No wonder they had become increasingly arrogant; Ronald was about to break through again!
Flynn was also taken aback-not because of Ronald’s martial arts but because he hadn’t expected Ronald to be in seclusion. Otherwise, he would have made Kendal call him for a good chat.
Jada mistook Flynn’s expression for fear of Ronald’s achievements and snorted:
“Ms. Sharp, Layla is naturally proud and may not give Cruz any face.”
“But she will certainly respect a Great Grandmaster peak.”
“If we from Eight Extremities School mediate, Layla will definitely reconcile with you and stop targeting you.”
Rose found this amusing-did Jada mean that if Eight Extremities School mediated, Layla would spare her life? In other words, Rose needed Layla’s mercy to live peacefully?
“A reconciliation is impossible; this won’t end until the three-family alliance goes bankrupt!” Rose said coldly.
Jada’s eyes narrowed sharply with a hint of threat: “Ms. Sharp is so unwise; once we force Maximo out and the three-family alliance extends an olive branch, we’ll support them.”
“After all, we are businessmen too; we need to eat.”
Her meaning was clear-agree to mediation so both sides can coexist peacefully and they can profit from both ends. If not agreed upon, they would side with the three-family alliance against Sharp’s Group.
Flynn couldn’t hold back any longer and sneered: “I’ve heard before that people from Eight Extremities School are arrogant and self-important; today I finally see it for myself.”
“You all act like big shots when you’re just a bunch of nobodies.”
“And you think you can mediate our affairs?”
“Besides! Even if we agreed-which we won’t-what are Kendal’s chances of becoming your leader?”
“You haven’t even started yet but are already discussing future plans-how confident you must be!”
