“What do you mean?”
Rose walked over and followed Flynn’s gaze. There was nothing but dense woods.
“You’ll know soon enough. Today, Kendal and Maximo are likely to have a falling out,” Flynn said, retracting his gaze and heading directly into the villa.
“Hey! Ms. Sharp! Long time no see!” A man with a rough voice greeted Rose with a gesture reminiscent of a salute.
He had long hair parted to one side, a rugged stubble, a large mouth, and wore a blue shirt with three buttons undone, revealing a dragon tattoo on his chest. He had a cigarette dangling from his lips and an air of nonchalance.
“Have I met you before?” Rose asked coldly, clearly displeased by the smell of smoke.
The man was momentarily taken aback but then laughed, “Ms. Sharp hasn’t met me, but I’ve seen Ms. Sharp!”
“I was the one who led you to the second in command at Eight Extremities School that day!”
“Oh, by the way, my name is Elijah Blackwood. You can call me Blackbird!”
Elijah exhaled a puff of smoke and moved closer to Rose with a grin, then called out to his men:
“Come on over! Greet Ms. Sharp!”
“Hello, Ms. Sharp!” Seven or eight men in black suits bowed their heads in unison, exuding a gangster vibe.
Rose nodded casually and asked indifferently, “Is everyone here?”
“We wouldn’t dare delay when working for Ms. Sharp!” Elijah replied with a roguish grin.
Rose nodded slightly and continued, “Has Mr. Goff arrived?”
“That old bastard! He never arrives on time; he has to make an entrance!” Elijah sneered disdainfully.
Rose frowned.
Even Kendal’s subordinates didn’t respect Maximo. The conflict between the two sides seemed to have reached a boiling point.
It looked like this banquet wouldn’t end without a resolution.
“Let’s go inside,” Rose said to Flynn before heading towards the villa.
Elijah blocked Flynn with a fake smile, “Ms. Sharp doesn’t think much of us if she needs to bring a bodyguard inside?”
“Don’t worry; on the second in command’s turf, Maximo won’t dare cause trouble.”
“So, no bodyguards allowed. Come on, buddy, let’s go have a smoke.”
As he spoke, Elijah reached out to put his arm around Flynn’s shoulder.
“I don’t smoke,” Flynn said expressionlessly, blocking Elijah’s hand.
Elijah’s face darkened as his hand hung awkwardly in mid-air.
“Not giving you face?” One of Elijah’s men stepped forward and asked coldly.
Flynn frowned slightly.
“He goes in with me,” Rose said coldly.
“Let them in!” Kendal emerged from the woods and ordered Elijah before heading into the villa without acknowledging Rose.
“Buddy, I’ll remember you. After this is over, let’s be friends,” Elijah said to Flynn with a threatening tone before signaling his men to step back.
It was clear he held grudges easily.
Flynn ignored him and entered the villa with Rose.
Eight Extremities School was an underground organization filled with all sorts of people, many of whom had been in prison. They were used to being arrogant under the school’s name. Even minor leaders carried themselves with great pride.
Elijah’s attitude wasn’t surprising given his background.
The villa was worth millions; the first-floor hall alone spanned over five hundred square meters. Everything inside had been moved aside, leaving six sofas arranged in a hexagon in the center.
Kendal sat alone on the northern sofa.
On the eastern sofa sat six middle-aged people-five men and one woman. The woman bore some resemblance to Elijah and had a cold expression as she sat close to Kendal, indicating their close relationship.
“Ms. Sharp, please sit,” Kendal gestured to the sofa beside her without even glancing at Flynn.
Flynn didn’t mind and sat next to Rose.
“Jada Harrington,” Rose greeted the woman beside Kendal.
“Ms. Sharp has been quite prominent lately! But I wonder how confident you are about this business war,” Jada said coldly without any expression on her face.
Rose smiled confidently, “Very confident.”
Everyone chuckled disdainfully at her words.
Jada shook her head and smiled, “It seems Ms. Sharp is unaware that Lilia has secured an $8 billion investment.”
“This financial war has just begun, and our alliance has already raised $50 billion. If we push harder, $100 billion isn’t out of reach.”
“And Ms. Sharp claims she’s very confident?”
Rose remained unfazed and replied calmly, “This financial war doesn’t seem relevant to today’s matter.”
“Indeed, today’s main issue is dealing with Maximo,” Jada said as she elegantly sipped her tea before continuing:
“But it concerns our interests.”
“If the Sharp Group loses this financial war, everything you have will turn to dust again.”
“The supply contract signed with our second in command can’t continue.”
“I have shares in your company; naturally, I care about it!”
Her words were direct and clear-if Rose lost the financial war, they would only profit once from this deal and couldn’t earn from the Sharp Group next year.
Rose smiled faintly and raised an eyebrow, “So what does Jada suggest I do?”
Jada poured tea for Rose and said, “After we drive Maximo away, we’ll support our second in command’s rise.”
“Then she will mediate your conflict; Eight Extremities School will no longer support either side. How about that?”
Flynn chuckled at this point.
He thought this woman might have some good ideas but realized she was just arrogant.
Leaving aside whether they could force Maximo out of Niarak,
Even if Kendal became the leader, could she mediate between both sides?
Would the three-family alliance agree?
They didn’t even consider who they were dealing with-Lilia and Braiden were seething with anger!
Layla was even worse; she always looked down on others as if she had neck problems from looking up all the time.
Even if the three-family alliance agreed,
Would Rose agree?
She had a blood feud with them!
Did Eight Extremities School think too highly of themselves because everyone gave them face? Did they forget who they really were?
