Book:Pregnant After Rejected By Alpha Published:2024-7-16

Nicklaus’s POV
“Don’t tell me the enemies tried to get rid of her because she failed? You know what, enough talking, and take me to her right now,” I ordered, and he agreed at once.
“Okay, Alpha.”
Mateo mind-linked with me, saying, “To be sure Jessica is with us, I would suggest the Luna stay with her.”
“Yes, you are right.” I got excited that Mateo didn’t let his emotions win over him. He still knows his duties and also knows how to act as usual without letting himself be carried away by his emotions.
I faced Gabby and said, “You need to be with Jessica now.”
“I will see her later,” she replied.
“No, you need to learn some spells right now. I will let you know what I find out from her. And please keep a close eye on Jessica. We still don’t know who the enemy is, and be careful. Call me.” I left, and she stopped following me as well.
I met with Mateo, and he took me to the room where the lady is receiving treatment. Seeing the bruises on her body, something tells me she must have fought with something and ended up escaping death, making her a lucky victim.
“This is bad. Who could have done this?” I questioned.
“We didn’t find anyone at all, but she was tied up. If we had come a little bit later, she could have died,” he replied.
“You mean she was tied up by someone? You need to double the security here. I have a feeling the person who tied her up might be aware she is here and will want to come here to finish her. Keep your eyes on her.”
“Yes, Alpha.”
I looked at the lady again and stepped out of the room to get some fresh air outside.
I sat with the lady in the room, and luckily she is getting herself back again. “Where am I?”
“You are in Blood Moon Pack,” Mateo replied to her.
“Who are you working for?” I questioned her.
“Pardon? I don’t quite understand,” she replied.
“Who sent you to the pack to harm the Luna?”
“I will never harm anyone. This is my first time coming in here, though I planned to come here some days ago to look for a job. I got chased out from my family because I refused to marry the man they want,” she replied.
“You planned on coming here, right? Why did you change your mind? Did you encounter anyone?”
“Come to think of it, I was attacked by a lady.” I noticed her entire body was shaking, as if the memory she just remembered was giving her serious trauma.
“She said she would borrow my looks, but I had to remain here so I could meet death. She did some spells and appeared exactly like me. Then she ordered the men to beat me and tie me up so I would die.”
I stood up upon hearing this. Now a witch can take the face of someone else. Damn this.
“Are you fabricating stories for us? How can someone come in here to do evil with your face? Are you trying to cover up your crimes?” Mateo yelled at her, and she started begging.
“Enough, Mateo. Get Jessica here. We need to find out something now,” I ordered, and he left at once. Something tells me the person doing this might be Jessica or a Jessica look-alike. But for her to mention spells-what if Jessica is playing with our heads? What if she is up to no good?
The door opened, revealing Jessica, and she said, “Alpha Nicklaus, you sent for me.”
I looked at the lady to see her reaction, and I guessed right; she started screaming, “Please help me! Save me from her! She is going to kill me! I don’t want her to kill me or take my self.” The nurses had to calm her down, and I tried to read Jessica’s expression. I noticed she was also shocked.
“Why would I kill you? Have we met before?” Jessica questioned.
“Jessica, have you ever met this lady in the past?”
“No, I have not. This is my first time meeting her, and I am shocked she is acting this way. I don’t have the heart to hurt someone unless the person deserves it,” she explained.
“Lady, be calm. No one can harm you here. I assure you. Find your peace and tell me the truth. The lady who took your face, when you first saw her, does she appear to look like her?” I asked calmly, but in my head, I am going crazy already.
“Yes, she is the one. My eyes cannot deceive me. Her hair color and length are different, but you cannot trick me. You are her. Even with your new look, I know you,” the lady said with confidence.
“Alpha Nicklaus, there is a mix-up here. Why would I harm a lady for no reason? And she claims I took her looks as well. What for? What would be my gain at the end of the day?”
“Alpha Nicklaus, what do we do now?”
“The matter is getting out of hand right now. Jessica, rethink. Is there a powerful witch like you existing in a different place that can make use of another face?”
“All witches can do it, but it’s a forbidden spell. No one is allowed to practice it. If the witch in question has gone to that length, we must be careful of her because even I or Margaret or the elders put together could never ever stop her,” she added.
“Lethal, what do you think? This is getting weirder,” I added.
“If the enemy has a powerful witch on our side, let the witch on our side train more. So when it is time for war, we will not be taken by surprise,” Lethal added.
“But you heard what she just said. The witch is evil and powerful.”
“Yeah, but every disadvantage will always have an advantage. Always know that, Alpha.”
I guess he is right. “Mateo, look after her. Jessica, come with me,” I added, and she obeyed as we stepped out together.
“Are you sure you know your family so well? What if there is a twin out there trying to give you a bad name?”
“Alpha, I have no twin. I am sure of that. Who knows, she might have copied my looks as well. We never can tell.”
She explained, and I looked at her, saying, “Can you keep this from Gabby?”
“Why? You know we can’t keep things from her. What if she finds out? She will be so angry with us and might hate me as well,” she said. I know she will be angry, but for her safety, it’s good she has no idea about what is happening at the moment. I want her to focus on her training alone. And when I finally catch the witch, then I can tell her the entire truth.
“Just don’t tell her. When everything has fallen into the right place, we can then tell her. Can you do that?”
“Do what? What are you both talking about? Are you hiding something from me? What could that be?” I heard Gabby’s voice. How much did she hear? I hope Jessica won’t blow everything up.
