Gabriella’s POV
I walked out with him, and we strolled to the kitchen, holding hands. The maids in the kitchen greeted us and asked what they could prepare for him. “I just need all of you to evacuate the kitchen.”
“Is there a problem, Alpha? Are we getting fired? We are sorry, Alpha. Please forgive us.” They went down on their knees, begging.
“No one is losing their jobs, okay? I just need all of you to leave the kitchen for a few hours.”
“Oh, thank you, Alpha.” They all left, and he kissed me, saying, “Now we have the kitchen to ourselves.” He pinned me against the wall, and I smiled. “Are we here for a honeymoon or to cook?”
“We are here for both.” He kissed my cheek and held my waist.
“What if someone comes in here and sees us like this?”
“And so, you are my wife. Why would I be shy about it?” he said and kissed my neck. He lifted me onto his body like a baby, then he brought out the onion and lettuce and started chopping them. When he finished, he leaned in for another kiss, and I loved it. I just hoped everything would end quickly so I could have the best honeymoon.
The following day, I got dressed as if I were going into combat, and Nicklaus was not present, only Mateo. “Where is Nicklaus?”
“He needs to attend to something very urgent at the moment, but he asked me to train you,” he replied.
“You mean he asked you to watch over me?” I asked, and he nodded. “You know him so well. He doesn’t joke around with you at all,” he replied.
“I know. So, what are we starting with today?”
“He said you should try out your wolf form and then learn self-defense.”
“Okay.”
I sat down with him and tried to meditate a little with my eyes closed. I attempted to access my wolf form, but nothing was happening. My eyes were still normal, and I got frustrated, standing up. “Teach me how to defend.”
“Okay, let’s get started then.” We began training, and I must say he is incredibly strong and hard to defeat. But I am glad my defense is gradually getting stronger too; it’s a good thing as well.
A few days later, I had already mastered the skills of self-defense, but I was still unable to transform no matter how hard I tried.
Nicklaus and I were training when Mateo rushed towards us, saying, “We’ve found the lady who had breakfast with the Luna.”
“You found her? Where is she?” Nick asked. I felt a surge of happiness hearing about it from Mateo. Now that they had found her, we would be able to discover who she was working with and what their plans were.
“She’s in bad shape and receiving treatment now,” Mateo replied.
“Don’t tell me the enemies tried to get rid of her because she failed. You know what, enough talking. Take me to her right now.”
“Okay, Alpha,” Mateo replied. I was about to follow them, but Nick halted me as Mateo disappeared from sight. Nick stopped me, saying, “You need to be with Jessica now.”
“I’ll see her later,” I replied.
“No, you need to learn some spells right now. I’ll let you know what I find out from her. Please keep a close eye on Jessica. Since we still don’t know who the enemy is, be careful and call me.” He left, and I forced a smile.
Why doesn’t he want me to go with him? I should trust him as the Alpha. He knows what he’s doing, so I guess I should obey him and go to Jessica.
“Hey Gabby,” I heard Jessica’s voice. I turned around and said, “You’re here already. Let’s begin training.”
“I had a new vision, and it’s too bloody. I’m afraid,” she looked startled. I hugged her and said, “Share it with me. We’ll find a solution together. Trust me.”
“You’ve sided with the enemy.”
“WHAT? I could never do that. It’s impossible.”
Nicklaus’s POV
I noticed Gabby creating spare time for herself to train alone, and I’m pleased to see how seriously she’s taking her training. It will only take a miracle for her to finally shift, and I’m still hoping for that day to come quickly.
“Any news?” I asked Mateo, and he nodded.
“Is there anything strange about Jessica?”
“Not at all. She’s just the same.”
“Okay, I know you care for her, but be wise so you don’t make a mistake.” I offered a word of advice, and he denied, saying he doesn’t love her.
“I know you’ll say that, but it’s all good. I need you to put more effort into searching for that lady with the portrait gift.” I returned to the woods to run and clear my head a little.
The following day, I made time for Gabby. I decided to teach her some new things and felt proud seeing how resilient she’s become. I no longer need to fear when trouble comes; she’ll be able to fight her way through, along with the spells she’s learned.
While we were training, Mateo burst in as if he were being chased.
“We’ve found the lady who had breakfast with the Luna,” he said, and I felt the weight lift off my shoulders. Things would get better now that she’s been found.
“You found her? Where is she?” I asked hurriedly, expecting a positive response from Mateo. Instead, he gave a negative reply, “She’s in bad shape and receiving treatment now.”
