Sheldon felt like he was going to throw up. Without saying a word, he grabbed his sister and ran outside.
“Sir, you can’t leave. You are disturbing our guests, and we require compensation!” The hotel manager rushed out upon hearing the commotion and tried to stop them.
“To hell with you!” Sheldon kicked him aside and dragged his sister out of the restaurant in a disheveled state.
Annabel left a trail of filth behind her.
“Let them go. I’ll cover the cost,” Leo said, suppressing a laugh.
After leaving the hotel, Xavier was full of admiration for Leo, constantly praising him. It seemed as if he and Leo were brothers, with no blood relation to Sheldon and Annabel.
“Tell me, how did you do it? That little paper ball made my sister… made her like that, hahaha…” Xavier couldn’t help but laugh again as he recalled the scene.
“If I learn that trick, I could really mess with those idiots who oppose me!”
“Oh? There are people who dare to oppose you?” Leo raised an eyebrow.
“Of course. The Wrightao family, the Watson family, and the Rossetti family all have some brats who mess with me. But when they mess with me, I mess with them back. No one wins,” Xavier said defiantly.
“Unfortunately, I can’t teach you that trick right away. I hit a specific acupuncture point with the paper ball. Even if you have the strength, you might not hit it accurately. It takes practice,” Leo explained patiently.
“Acupuncture points? Brother, you know acupuncture?” Xavier was surprised.
“I’m a doctor, an herbalist doctor.”
“Really? An herbalist doctor!?”
Xavier looked at Leo in shock, clearly doubting that someone so young could be an herbalist doctor.
“Why, don’t I look like one?” Leo laughed.
“You do, but I wonder if your medical skills are better than that old dog from the Rossetti family.”
“The Rossetti family? They have a doctor too?” Leo asked curiously.
“Yes, an herbalist doctor who treats important people. My grandfather once invited him when he was sick,” Xavier said dismissively. “Honestly, I think his skills are just so-so.”
“Brother Leon, when we run into those rich kids again, can you help me show off?” Xavier asked ingratiatingly.
If Jacob were here, he would be shocked. His rebellious son had never spoken to him in such a tone but was now showing such respect to an outsider!
“Of course,” Leo nodded.
Because of the incident with Annabel and Sheldon, they hadn’t eaten properly. Xavier took Leo to a small roadside restaurant for dinner.
By evening, Xavier still didn’t want Leo to leave and insisted on taking him to a nightclub, saying he would find ten girls for Leo to make up for snatching girls from him at the bar that night!
“Those weren’t my girls; they were just friends,” Leo said, half-amused but didn’t refuse since he had nothing else to do that night.
Just as they stepped out, a black car pulled up in front of them.
“Who dares block my way?” Xavier asked, reeking of alcohol.
Josiah rolled down the window and was surprised to see Leo and Xavier together.
“Leo, didn’t the Bloomer family tell you the test results?” Josiah asked in surprise.
“They did,” Leo smiled.
Josiah had promised to tell him the results immediately but hadn’t said anything.
“Get in the car; I need to talk to you!” Josiah gestured for him to get in.
“Uncle Josiah, is it urgent? If not, can it wait?” Leo smiled politely.
Josiah was taken aback by Leo’s refusal. He suspected that Leo had become wary of him.
“It can’t wait; it has to be now,” Josiah insisted, his eyes deep with intent.
Leo hesitated but didn’t refuse. He turned and hailed a taxi for Xavier: “Xavier, I have something to do. You go ahead. I’ll treat you to drinks another day.”
“Alright, Brother Leon, take care!” Xavier laughed and whispered in Leo’s ear: “The Meredith family old fox is not a good person. Be careful.”
“I know,” Leo smiled appreciatively and patted Xavier on the back before sending him off in the taxi.
As he watched Xavier leave, a meaningful smile appeared on Leo’s face. Despite his flamboyant personality, Xavier was not a fool.
Just then, a rumble of thunder sounded from the gloomy sky, followed by a light rain. People on the street scattered in all directions.
“Leo, get in the car,” Josiah urged.
Once inside, Josiah asked curiously: “Didn’t you have a conflict with Xavier? How come you’re friends now?”
“Oh, it was just a misunderstanding. He’s actually quite nice once you get to know him,” Leo laughed.
“That kid is trouble. You should stay away from him,” Josiah warned, seemingly not wanting Leo to get too close to Xavier.
“Uncle Josiah, last time you told me that Xavier was troublesome and would cause me problems while Sheldon was reasonable. But after interacting with the Bloomer family, I found it to be quite the opposite,” Leo said, narrowing his eyes and observing Josiah’s expression closely.
Leo had long seen through Josiah’s facade of concern; he knew Josiah had his own agenda.
“Haha, I was just talking about their personalities. Besides, people are unpredictable,” Josiah deflected smoothly. “Just like this test result-can we be sure the Bloomer family’s result is the absolute truth?”
With that, he pulled out another test result from his briefcase that Harvey had just retrieved.
Leo was slightly taken aback and looked at the document in Josiah’s hand. “You mean…?”
“See for yourself,” Josiah handed him the document.
The rain pounded on the car windows as Josiah looked out and murmured: “It’s raining heavily.”
Leo flipped to the last page of the test result and saw the words “confirmed blood relation.” His expression changed momentarily but quickly returned to normal.
“Uncle Josiah, where did you get this result?” Leo asked.
“To be honest, I suspected the Bloomer family might tamper with the results. So I instructed Harvey to keep a sample of your and Mr. Bloomer’s DNA that day,” Josiah explained.
