Chapter 500: I Want My Own Pride

Book:A King Reborn in Shadows Published:2024-7-10

The scene was silent.
Everyone was dumbfounded.
Even Frederick had backed down, yet Flynn still broke Clinton’s arm!
Did Flynn know he would die tomorrow and decided to go all out?
Madeline was also furious.
Go ahead! Do whatever you want!
Tomorrow, Mr. Goff will step in, and no one will be able to help you!
Since the founding of the Eight Extremities School, no one who has offended them has ever lived!
Why am I even getting angry?
We’re already divorced; who cares about the life or death of a stranger?
While everyone was in shock, Flynn calmly sat back in his chair and sipped his tea.
Frederick, seeing this, felt his anger almost consume him. He glared at Flynn and gritted his teeth:
“Drag my man out!”
The manager of Spring Blossom Tower didn’t dare delay and quickly called for the waiters to carry Clinton downstairs.
“Flynn, I’ll let you live one more day! Tomorrow will be your death day!” Frederick left this remark and turned to leave.
He said this not only to vent his anger but also to save face.
But Flynn ignored him completely, which made Frederick even more furious.
Seeing Frederick so angry, Madeline cautiously said:
“Flynn will regret his actions sooner or later. Your health hasn’t fully recovered; please don’t get angry!”
Frederick was already irritated. Hearing Madeline’s words made him even angrier:
“Why do you keep talking nonsense? Do you think I’d get angry over trash? Get lost!”
Madeline shivered in fear. She hadn’t expected her flattery to backfire. Stammering, she said:
“I… I was just worried about your mood. If you don’t want to hear it, I won’t say it.”
“About the matter we discussed earlier…”
She had borrowed $200 million from Maximo recently, promising to repay it in a month with an interest rate of 3%.
She had thought that once Acebegron Clear Relief expanded its channels, the stock of Swanson’ Pharmaceuticals would double, allowing her to cash out and repay the loan.
But Acebegron Clear Relief had failed spectacularly, and the $200 million was lost.
Now she could only pin her hopes on the three companies under Charlie.
But Charlie’s team was currently in Haralu setting up distribution for Rose.
Who knows when they would return?
Even if they did return, the funds from the three companies wouldn’t come all at once. Initial funds would be used for projects.
So Maximo’s $200 million loan would definitely be overdue.
Madeline had offered to increase the interest rate by two points to extend the repayment period to six months.
Frederick had been considering this favorable condition when he received news that his men had been beaten up.
“Repay the $200 million loan within a month, or the Kaur family will have to sell their company!”
“This matter is non-negotiable!”
Frederick left these words and walked away without looking back.
Madeline’s smile froze on her face as she stood there in shock.
Her mind almost went blank.
They had almost reached an agreement; why did Frederick suddenly change his mind?
And he didn’t even leave room for negotiation!
Flynn!
It must be because of him!
Flynn beat up Clinton, making Frederick upset and unwilling to negotiate with me!
A troublemaker indeed!
Dad, why did you save them back then?
Look at how Flynn has ruined me!
Your daughter is almost out of options!
Should I ask Nathan for help?
No way!
I must have my own pride; I can’t be just a pretty face!
I can’t let Nathan look down on me!
When Nathan confesses his feelings for me, I’ll casually mention it. He’ll definitely help repay this money!
Nathan has been busy lately; he seems to have gone to Pelens today. When he returns, he should confess to me!
At that time, those who have wronged me will pay! Hmph!
Madeline left Spring Blossom Tower with an air of pride.
Inside the private room,
Flynn handed a prescription to Stephanie and instructed her on how to prepare the medicine. Then he took out silver needles and performed acupuncture on her hand’s Waiguan point to regulate her Sanjiao meridian qi.
The other female classmates stood awkwardly by, unsure whether to sit or stand.
They were terrified by Flynn.
They had never seen such a brutal scene before.
Without any hesitation, he crippled Clinton’s limbs.
They couldn’t imagine what it would be like if it happened to them.
“Harriet, I’m sorry for misunderstanding you.”
“I’m sorry too. I spoke without thinking and caused Harriet distress.”
“I’m sorry…”
The classmates who had mocked Harriet earlier bowed and apologized to her before leaving money for their meal and departing.
“Flynn, I’ve caused trouble again,” Harriet said apologetically as she sat next to Flynn with her head down.
Flynn patted her head and smiled: “They bullied you; how is that your fault?”
“Even if I didn’t cause trouble for Eight Extremities School today, they wouldn’t spare Energence Pharmaceuticals.”
“You don’t need to blame yourself!”
Hearing this, Julianne, who was about to call a waiter for the bill, suddenly stopped.
“Energence Pharmaceuticals? Are you an executive there?”
Hearing Julianne’s question, Harriet quickly introduced: “Flynn, this is Julianne, our vice class president from university.”
“Sister Peipei, this is Flynn. He’s a good friend and business partner of Ms. Sharp.”
Flynn looked at Julianne curiously: “You know about Energence Pharmaceuticals?”
“Yes, there’s been a lot of news about Energence Pharmaceuticals lately. The business war between them and the three alliances is quite a hot topic.”
“The company I work for has business dealings with Dragon Gate Group. I’ve heard quite a bit about Energence Pharmaceuticals.”
“I heard Ms. Sharp has God of War backing her; that’s quite impressive,” Julianne said.
Flynn smiled but didn’t respond.
Julianne sized up Flynn and continued: “Since you’re friends with Ms. Sharp, you should advise her that you can’t win this business war.”
“It’s better to find another way out-either make peace or cash out and leave.”
Flynn followed up: “How do you know we can’t win? Is it because God of War is going to be detained?”
“That’s just part of it,” Julianne replied. “Yesterday our boss said Lilia has already secured a deal with Dasov from Achela.”
“Who’s Dasov? Is he powerful?” Flynn asked.
Julianne shook her head: “Dasov is the owner of Norris Pharmaceuticals with a net worth exceeding $100 billion. His family wealth ranks tenth in Achela and he has many businesses in Ostrad as well.”
“He’s planning to invest $8 billion in Dragon Gate Group; you can’t win against that!”
As Rose’s business partner, it’s one thing not knowing other industry leaders. But not knowing pharmaceutical giant Dasov left Julianne speechless.
Julianne thought even more firmly that Energence Pharmaceuticals couldn’t win this business war.
“$8 billion? That’s equivalent to $50 billion Ostrad currency!” Harriet was shocked and looked worried.
Yesterday after Energence Pharmaceuticals acquired Swanson’ Pharmaceuticals, everyone at the company was discussing its future prospects.
They knew the next phase would be a financial battle.
Whoever had more money would win the final showdown.
Energence Pharmaceuticals had over $30 billion in cash reserves but raising another billion from Niarak’s bigwigs seemed impossible unless Orion sold off assets.
But could they?
Now that the three alliances had secured $8 billion with their influence, finding more investors would be no problem at all.
What could Energence Pharmaceuticals possibly use to compete?
