Chapter 65 In Danger

Book:My Half Brother, My Mate Published:2024-7-5

Alpha Ricardo’s POV
As she walked away, my heart was torn to pieces. I wished I could hold her in my arms and explain everything to her. I wished I could tell her how much I’ve grown to love and cherish her. I wished I could tell her I loved her more than life itself. But I couldn’t, at least not now.
”Are you okay, Alpha?” Lady Golden asked and got a quick nod from me.
”I’ll be back shortly,” I said and teleported away.
I arrived in my room and made a mind link to Chris, and got a response from him. ”I went to his home, searched around, but couldn’t find what I was looking for,” I said with a sigh. ”We will follow him around and keep you informed,” He said and got a frustrated sigh from me. ”She has left the mansion, make sure your men are following her.” ”Roger that alpha.” He said and ended the mind-link,
Feeling frustrated, I let out a sigh and sank onto my bed, pondering in thoughts and thinking of my next moves.
I have just a month to get that box and explain everything to Mia, but it feels like one month won’t be enough for me.
”Alpha?” Jayson spoke through mind link, ”Go on,” I said with a sigh.
”We have caught her,” He announced. ”Who?” I asked, confused.
”The seer, the seer who lied to you, she has been tracked down and is here with me in the mansion.” His words quickly took me up on my feet.
”Where is she?” I asked, anger raging down my blood. ”In the basement,” He responded. I teleported away from my room and arrived in the basement. When I arrived, I saw her seated in a chair while Jayson and Simeon stood beside her.
She held my gaze, and I could notice how terrified she was. ”You…” She stammered in panic.
”Yes, me,” I responded and got closer to her, ”I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to lie to you,” She pleaded, almost breaking down in tears. With rage boiling in me, I stared at her and could see how she looked terrible. It seems life has dealt with her these past years.
”You are sorry?” I asked bitterly, restraining myself from touching her. She was a woman and old enough to be my mother. ”Did you know what that silly act of yours caused me?” I yelled through gritted teeth. ”It cost me my life. The one woman I was supposed to love and cherish all my life went through hell just because of you.” I yelled with pain in my voice, ”I hated my father and drew away from him, not even giving him a chance to explain himself.” I yelled with gritted teeth.
She was lucky she was a woman. She was damn lucky.
”I’m sorry. Please forgive me,” She pleaded in tears as her whole body trembled in fear.
With an angry groan, I moved away from her, so I wouldn’t do anything stupid. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes to control my nerves, but I felt something was odd.
”Mine!” Eric growled in discomfort.
”What’s wrong?” I asked Eric but got a loud growl from him, sending panic through my entire body.
Quickly, I turned to Jayson and saw the concerned look on his face. ”What is wrong?” He asked, moving closer to me. ”Mia, I think she is in danger,” I responded and quickly made a mind link to Chris. ”Where is she?” I questioned in panic. ”I just got information. She went inside a club.” He responded, ” Club, which club?” I asked, but the signal suddenly cut off.
”Chris!” I yelled through mind link but didn’t get a signal. ”No, no, no,” I yelled in fear and went for my phone in my pant pocket. Quickly I dialed his number, and it rang before it was picked up. ”Which club?” I asked as an icy shiver ran down my spine. ”Moonlight club, alpha, I think there is a problem. I’m heading towards there.”
”What is…” I tried asking, but the loud howl from my wolf ceased my words. ”Mia is in danger.” He spoke weakly. Without a second thought, I tried teleporting, but I couldn’t. ”What’s going on?” I asked in panic and tried to teleport again, but it wasn’t working.
“No!” I yelled and ran out of the basement. I tried to teleport, but my wolf was so weak that my breath seized in my chest. ”Mine!” Eric growled weakly, causing an icy shiver down my spine. ”Where are you?” I tried making a mind link to her, and instead of getting a signal, I got a loud cry from her.
”No, no, please no,” I spoke in panic and tried to teleport and this time, it worked.
Within a second, I arrived right in front of the club, and just when I was about to go in, my wolf pushed my feet in another direction. Without hesitation, I followed the direction of my wolf. I hastened my footsteps, but began running when my wolf began howling in pain. With panic, I continued running until the familiar scent of nutmeg mixed with fresh honey hit my nose. ”Mia.” My Wolf howled weakly, ceasing my steps.
With panting breath, I moved my gaze around the dark street.
As I turned, I saw two men standing on the opposite side of the road. One seemed to be holding something up to his mouth, but I couldn’t quite make it out. My heart started beating faster as I broke into a run and crossed the road, heading straight toward them.
With tension, I ran up to them and believed they heard my footsteps running toward them. The moment they turned to look my way, I realized the men were Chris’s men, but something else caught my attention.
Lying on the floor was Mia, soaked in a pool of blood.
My stomach lurched as I realized they were standing over Mia, who was lying on the ground, motionless.
“What happened?” I demanded, my voice shaking, my heart clenching in my chest.
“She… she got hit by a car,” one of the men stammered.
”Mia!” I yelled, my mind racing as I knelt down next to her. I could see the shallow rise and fall of her chest, but her eyes were tightly shut.
”My Mia,” I called out as I removed the strands of hair covering her face. ”Mia, please wake up,” I pleaded, shaking her arms, but I got no response from her.
”Do something,” Eric growled. With panic, I tried teleporting, and it worked.
I arrived in my private room and quickly lay her on the bed. ”Jayson.” I called through mind link, ”Come to my private room.” With those words, I teleported and arrived in front of a flat. I reached the door, knocked on it, and barged in.
I met Ability in his sitting room, watching a movie. ”Alpha…” He called out in shock as he stood to his feet. ”I need your help. Please come with me and see if your abilities will work on my mate.” I spoke in panic as fear ran down my spine.
”Sure, alpha, where is she?” Without giving him a response, I held his arm, and we teleported away.
Within seconds, we arrived in my private room and met Jayson beside Mia. ”What happened?” He asked, worried and confused. ”She was hit by a car.” I managed to speak, drawing back the tears that threatened to fall on my cheek.
”Let me have a look at her,” Ability spoke as he made his way to her.
With my heart throbbing with fear, I watched him place his hands on her bleeding head, and tightly shut his eyes.
As I watched him make incantations, I made a silent prayer in my heart, hoping his healing ability would work on her because not all healing abilities work on werewolves.
”You are trembling,” Jayson said as he stood close to me, ”Take a grip on yourself. She will be fine,” He assured me, but I wasn’t paying attention.
So many thoughts buzzed in my head. I was scared, scared of losing her. ”Please, goddess, have mercy on me,” I whispered silently, holding myself from breaking down.
”I have stopped the bleeding, but she needs to be taken to the hospital. I think we are losing her,” Ability grumbled as he stood at his feet.
”Losing her?” I asked in fear and picked her up from the bed. ”She needs to be taken to the hospital, this very minute.” Ability advised and without giving a response, I teleported and arrived in front of the hospital.
”Doctor!” I yelled, running into the hospital, with the lifeless body of Mia in my arms.
”Alpha Ricardo.” A Doctor recognized me and rushed to me, ”Is Doctor Steven in?” I asked and got a nod from him, ”Get Doctor Stephen, it’s an emergency.” I yelled, running around the hospital with Mia in my arms.
Two nurses rushed to me with a stretcher, and I quickly placed her on it. They moved her away, while I followed, as hot sweat dripped from my forehead.
Doctor Stephen came out of a room and approached us. ”Please help me,” I pleaded. ”I will do my best,” He responded and went into the emergency room with the nurses.
I wanted to go in with them, but I restrained myself because I might be unable to stand it.
With a gulp, I walked around the hallway, sweat dripping from my body and my clothes stained with Mia’s blood.
I tried to communicate with my wolf, but he was dead and silent. ”Please save her.” I closed my eyes and whispered silent prayers.
Hours had passed, and the nurses and doctors were still in the emergency room, working on Mia. Jayson stood before me with his hand on my left shoulder, comforting me. ”Have faith.” He tried encouraging me, but it wasn’t helping matters.
If only I hadn’t said those words to her. If only I hadn’t gotten her angry and made her leave the mansion. Maybe, just maybe, she wouldn’t be in such a condition. It was my fault, my fucking fault.
I noticed Chris and his men standing in a corner, but I didn’t bother to talk to them. In fact, I had lost my voice and couldn’t speak.
Still consumed in the thought, I noticed the door opened, and Doctor Stephen came out with an expressionless face.
”How is she?” I asked while my breath seized in my chest.
”I have a little bad news for you, Alpha….” He paused, waiting for my response, but I couldn’t say a word. My whole body became numb at his words. ”She has fallen into a coma, and it’s a miracle that she isn’t dead.”
